  • Thank you very much! To make my own replica, could U please tell me what you make the barrell from.

  • Cool! Cud U please tell me where you got the 16th century marchlock replica from. Thanks...

  • @abdulkabza There is a dealer in the States, "The olde Rifle Shoppe" who has a lightweight matchlock in his catalogue, but you will have to wait for about ten years between order and delivery-

If you want to make your own replica, it is fairly easy. The mechanics are simple, get fotographs from museums or online catalogues of auctioneers and you will succeed with just a handfull of files.

The problem is the barrel: 1 1/2 '' at the breech to make it look real.

  • Trigger.

You can buy helmets like that online for about $40, but they don't have a liner. I bought some old belts from Goodwill and got a leather riveting tool and was able to make a decent liner for the thing.

If you look at the old helmets, you can see a line of rivets near the brim where they riveted the liner to the inside of the helmet. I just follwed the same pattern

  • Very cool, I've been wanting one for a while. Does yours have a trigger or the cantilever?

    Love the helmet too!
