The video might be from Helsinki but the sound is from Rotterdam. You can easily find out by playing the Popheart along with the dvd. It's exactly the same performance.
Yeah this is truly Helsinki, but both the performance and video are damn similar to the Rotterdam one (despite the standard Pop-mart look). One can easily be fooled by this!
yeah this one is definitely Rotterdam, the same awesome version that is on the "Please / Popheart EP" single that leads into "Where The Streets Have No Name"
No, this version is from the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Finland for sure. I have the promo DVD of the Best of 1990-2000 CD and there is the following text: "Please - live mural cut, filmed in Helsinki, 9th August 1997, director Maurice Linnane".
i stand corrected. funny you mention it, i remember watching this on my DVD back in the day when i first got it. i listen to so many U2 boots i rarely confuse 2 versions of the same song, so i'm shocked b/c the audio here matches up almost perfectly with PopHeart single.
OK the sound could be from other concert but the video is definitely from Helsinki. If you´re correct why they didn´t use the original sound? I can imagine only one reason: the performance wasn´t good enough.
While I was surprised at how closely this sounded to PopHeart, I don't think they dubbed it here. I believe you that both audio and video here are from Helinski.
Yeah. Too bad I didn´t know anything about U2 those days. If the Popmart tour would start next year I would be there. I hope U2 is coming to Finland on the next tour.
It's a pity they don't play this more often. I loved the acoustic version they played on the Elevation tour.. but the full band version would have fit so well on the Vertigo tour in place of Running to Stand Still or Miss Sarejevo.
I always liked the lyrics and Bono's voice in this song
Very soothing and soulful
Kinda showed a bit of Zoo TV

they've got pro shot from full concert in Helsinki. I wish they would release it on DVD...

Same here. Is there any rumours about Popmart Helsinki DVD? 1997 was the last time they played in Finland.

Look's a lot like the Rotterdam show, but no this is it if you search U2 - Please (live from Rotterdam)
