Guys, this is someone trying to celebrate his friend's wedding. If you have something mean to say about Chassidic/Orthodox customs, do it somewhere else. This is not the place. As a chossidish jew I am deeply offended. EVERY community has its problems.
What is going on? Did they just get married and are now on other sides of a wall isn't this a wedding? Where are the women and why are they not dancing together. Seems odd for a wedding.
Nobody gives a crap anymore about the chunukishkeit of the chassidim. More and more young chassidim are starting to shed the nonsensical bullcrap that they were inculcated with. The main reason for that is the sheer hypocricy of the older generation. Who among us didn't grow up seeing these sheine yidden mit lange peios and beards and bekeshes acting like beheimos. Who among us can forget the geneiva shtick, the dishonesty, the physical abuse in the chadorim, the sexual abuse etc. etc. etc.
@joeyfuts No I am not kidding. I always get these responses that jewish people never abuse another jewish person, either hitting or sexual abuse. I agree the catholic church and presbyterians committed the same abuses. So neither religion is squeakly clean. Is it?
the vast majority of jews are neither orthodox not chassidic. jews are at the forefront of liberalism and enlightenment. unfortunately there are culrtual norms in the chassidic community (again a tiny minority of jews) which does not see women's rights and children's rights as a very important issue. there is also the stigma factor, which results in crime being swept under the rug.
my brother, it is not the religion which is flawed-rather us people. the religion is against any abuse of any kind, but us as human beings are flawed and so you will find in every corner of the earth ,whatever religion there is that there are problems because people are people. however the Torah has very clear laws against any type of abuse...but people don't always listen..
She is wearing 3/4 sleeves, it was probably a summer wedding. Jewish law requires that the elbows be covered. Look again and you will see her elbows are covered.
I had Klezmorim at my wedding, and people liked the musicians very much. Nothing matches the beauty of private musicians.

@joeyfuts Wow, sexual abuse. Did that actually happen. I can understand dishonesty and physical abuse, but the other. Inconceivable.
