Honestly, I'm all for the idea of electric motocross, but I don't think we have the battery technology required to provide efficient power while keeping the weight down. I see that he is going fairly fast, but it looks like hes having to seat hop alot of things he shouldn't have to seat hop. Also, there aren't any gears? Although it is an electric motor, a 3 gear transmission would suit it well (drive gears).. That would allow it that extra boost it needs to get over some of the larger ramps..

Electric motors are given a kV rating. Number of RPM per volt. If you have a low KV motor then you need higher gearing but if you have a high KV motor then you need low gearing. Electric motors make way mor torque then gas motors. Look at trains.... powered by electric motors

@bzhfbz The gearing all depends on the motors output rating which is in either Kilowatts or Horsepower. 1 KW = 1.36 HP. The KV rating only really has to with service type. A 600V motor can be designed to have a small output such as 5HP, and a 120V motor can be designed to have as high as 100HP. All depends on the current (Amps) provided by the source, in this case a DC battery. This motor probably doesn't put out any more than 25HP max from a battery that size. Power= Voltage X Current.
