zhang jike's technique is too f*****ng good. how the heck did that happen? a couple yrs ago he was a usatt 2800-ish 2nd string that got decimated by liqin when wlq was #1. jike's play style is completely different from before too. he must have trained really hard to become like this. wtf i am amazed. biggest change i've seen in any player. 2nd biggest improvement probably matsudaira. 3rd mizutani

I've just heard that Japan was very close to winning the gold medal but Mizutani Jun couldn't bring his country to the gold medal. He had 4 match points against Xu Xin but wasted them. This might have been one of the biggest victories of Japan in the modern era and the strongest challenger against the Chinese.

jun's technique isn't the best, but he is smart. in terms of power and speed, both kan yo and yoshida kai were better. he's been improving his power since he started practicing more offensive play modeling after some of ma lin's style.

the other really good upcoming player is kenta matsudaira. most ppl think he's new but he's actually been in the circuit for awhile. it's just that he's made a breakthrough recently playing much better than before.

Well nowadays, 8 out of 10 of Xu Xin's matches have been come back wins.
