@YOUONLYLIVEONCE08 Yes this is a stock hood. You could also get them with hood pins and cowl induction, which this doesn't have, so this would be the standard hood for 1970 Chevelles.
I hate to say it, but big blocks love 3.73:1 gears. when you run 4.11:1 on the street you run through RPM so fast you lose all the advantages of a big block. beautiful car, immaculate, nice engine swap but I have to say my 454 with a crane Hyd. cam and 11.75:1 pistons out pulled and way outreved the 502. Stop being a skirt and twist that pig, I turned mine 8200 to a shift all the time. nothing quite like a BBC @ 8200 RPM. Again, beautiful chevelle...

I'm not saying it is a clone, I'm just asking. My brother has a 70 ss rat motor car, with the 402, which they called a 396. It has bench bucket seats and a 4 speed. Some of these cars came strangely equipped.

Hey I think they have 5 speed auto transmissions for those. That 3 speed limits your top end to what you say about 120 with your gearing. A speed would probably get you to 160 or 170 with that 411 rear.

You really dont want to go that route, it would leave to big a gap in the trans ratio in either 2nd to 3rd or 1st to 2nd. Just ad a 5spd auto or manual for a smooth properly spaced trans shift.
Well For a 502 it does not sound all that strong i have a pontiac idnt do much to it except for the pistons and cam and it sounds better than that 502 but anyways the car looks good

My father used to have a Carousel Red(orange) 69 GTO Judge 4-speed with Ram Air III that he loved. It had 64,000 original miles.
At the same time, he had completely restored a 69 Chevelle SS 396 4-speed for me to have when I turned 16. Both cars were show room condition.
He ended up selling both for good money at the time. Well, 8 years later, the muscle car market took off, and now he could have easily gotten $100k for that Judge.

the cars are long gone and are probably in mexico right now. both of them were stolen and had reports on them. but i was able to keep them under the radar for 2 1/2 years. GOD why did 67 ss have to be stolen. it was cherry. everything worked and was original on it except it had a 350 instead of the 396. it also had the 4 speed manual. o and yea i didnt steal them i got them off some dude with a tow truck. i didnt find out that they were stolen for about 6 months. good thing i never drove them.

Edelbrock RPM Air Gap. After doing my homework it was the best choice for my 502. I am very please with it and would do it over again without thinking twice about it. Thanks for asking.

6 speed? If you're gonna drag the car, keep it automatic. Too many clutch problems when you combine that power with a 6 speed and a drag strip. You want good track times with something 400+ in horsepower, then you want an automatic strip transmission.
Not at all true. A properly built automatic will always out shift a manual transmission. Unless your dealing with a car that has little hp and tq and the losses from the automatic transmission outweigh the gains from the quick shifting.
No way you could be loosing 100hp through a transmission alone either. You would be cooking the atf from turning hp into heat.
i beg to differ..... a standard trans car is faster than an auto trans car WITH THE RIGHT DRIVER. but you definately have to be on your game!!!
although auto transmission car's are a hell of alot more CONSISTANT(with slight power loss,not much though)...which is key to bracket racing and sportsman racing...plus you can shift auto's manually also, just without a clutch. ;)
You gotta drop that rear end ratio to at least 3:23 to get you steadily accelerating past 100mph cuz you're running out of gear & losing top end with that 4:11 setup, especially since you only have a 3 speed transmission, you're gonna have to tread lightly on that gas pedal & keep your foot out of it to get some fuel economy, but this car is beautiful, that 502 sounds beautiful, it has a quiet, choppy yet smooth idle like it's supposed to!, what type exhaust?
Right after this video was made the rear end was changed. A 3.73 was installed. What a difference! Out to the track it went. The track time was great as noted on the more info link. With the 17'' rims and street tires the car preformed like a champ. 3'' exhaust crossed over with Flowmasters. The car really breaths well... Thanks for the nice words!
Yeah, a 3:73 sounds very good & I knew you had to be using a Flowmaster exhaust, cuz Flowmaster has the best sounding exhaust system for muscle cars while the other brands like Magnaflow, Corsa, Borla, & Dynomax are a lil too quiet, I'm using a Flowmaster 40 series on my 84 Monte Carlo & it really brings out the muscle in a V8 engine, let me tell ya!, & that crossover or x-pipe you're using really smooths out the rumble & crackle of your exhaust, it sounds beautiful man!

My father used to have a Carousel Red(orange) 69 GTO Judge 4-speed with Ram Air III that he loved. It had 64,000 original miles.
At the same time, he had completely restored a 69 Chevelle SS 396 4-speed for me to have when I turned 16. Both cars were show room condition.
He ended up selling both for good money at the time. Well, 8 years later, the muscle car market took off, and now he could have easily gotten $100k for that Judge.

the cars are long gone and are probably in mexico right now. both of them were stolen and had reports on them. but i was able to keep them under the radar for 2 1/2 years. GOD why did 67 ss have to be stolen. it was cherry. everything worked and was original on it except it had a 350 instead of the 396. it also had the 4 speed manual. o and yea i didnt steal them i got them off some dude with a tow truck. i didnt find out that they were stolen for about 6 months. good thing i never drove them.

I'd love to get one someday, like my Father had before me. He bought his, kept it for a number of years and ended up selling it for higher than he paid for it. For now, I am content with my '87 Caddy Hearse...As stupid as that sounds. My dream car is a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse by Superior (or the 1959 Caddy Superior, as she is known)

I have a 4spd 454 with 3.73 gears and I'm at 2500rpm at 60mph and 4krpm close to 100mph. Can I cruise at 3krpm around or is that to high rpm for cruisin highway? I have a 750 holley carb dbl pumper with a 555 cam lift but not sure on the compression, runs on premium, your thoughts please? THanks...

Go visit a drag strip, most of the drag cars are automatic. Best way to go with a B&M quick silver shifther. You ever miss a gear driving a stick with 500hp Trouble;)

6 speed? If you're gonna drag the car, keep it automatic. Too many clutch problems when you combine that power with a 6 speed and a drag strip. You want good track times with something 400+ in horsepower, then you want an automatic strip transmission.

Not at all true. A properly built automatic will always out shift a manual transmission. Unless your dealing with a car that has little hp and tq and the losses from the automatic transmission outweigh the gains from the quick shifting.
No way you could be loosing 100hp through a transmission alone either. You would be cooking the atf from turning hp into heat.
A standard box is ALWAYS more fun though : )

i beg to differ..... a standard trans car is faster than an auto trans car WITH THE RIGHT DRIVER. but you definately have to be on your game!!!
although auto transmission car's are a hell of alot more CONSISTANT(with slight power loss,not much though)...which is key to bracket racing and sportsman racing...plus you can shift auto's manually also, just without a clutch. ;)

You gotta drop that rear end ratio to at least 3:23 to get you steadily accelerating past 100mph cuz you're running out of gear & losing top end with that 4:11 setup, especially since you only have a 3 speed transmission, you're gonna have to tread lightly on that gas pedal & keep your foot out of it to get some fuel economy, but this car is beautiful, that 502 sounds beautiful, it has a quiet, choppy yet smooth idle like it's supposed to!, what type exhaust?

Right after this video was made the rear end was changed. A 3.73 was installed. What a difference! Out to the track it went. The track time was great as noted on the more info link. With the 17'' rims and street tires the car preformed like a champ. 3'' exhaust crossed over with Flowmasters. The car really breaths well... Thanks for the nice words!

Yeah, a 3:73 sounds very good & I knew you had to be using a Flowmaster exhaust, cuz Flowmaster has the best sounding exhaust system for muscle cars while the other brands like Magnaflow, Corsa, Borla, & Dynomax are a lil too quiet, I'm using a Flowmaster 40 series on my 84 Monte Carlo & it really brings out the muscle in a V8 engine, let me tell ya!, & that crossover or x-pipe you're using really smooths out the rumble & crackle of your exhaust, it sounds beautiful man!
