  • Global carbon dioxide levels is fixed by photosynthesis not manned: mankind just increased life on earth. He can't increase the level of carbon dioxide in the air

  • @MyJonJonify The IPCC wants atmospheric CO2 levels to be cut in half. This will take CO2 level far below what plans need to live.

  • WE ARE NOT CATTLES ! WE ARE HUMAN!

  • Photosynthesis prevents any rise in free global carbon dioxide in the air

  • What a master of brainwashing... pure propaganda... really embarrassing...

  • @frankobjectif I think he is whacked as well - but I like him.

  • It years ago we had a bad hurricane year

  • It years ago we had a bad hurricane year

  • Biology metabolises all the carbon dioxide he can get. No change in free carbon dioxide for two centuries as a result. There is an increase in life

  • @MyJonJonify I'm a CO2 newbie, but I see charts that says it's rising, and rising at an in creasing rate...

  • The last bad hurricane year was eight years ago. The world has been cooling for 13 years now. Looks so mean why carbon dioxide has nothing to do the weather. So you must be a paid nuclear stooge

  • Carbon dioxide fell at the end of the little ice age and has remained static for last two centuries

  • And all this before we had the Emails for CRU and climategate.

  • thumbs up if you came here when u searched carter 4

  • who cares what the politicians say. I prefer to look at the scientific debate. The peer reviewed scientific consensus is soundly in the 'how much does CO2 effect global temperatures" phase. Temperature carbon relationships are understood by a variety of scientific measuring methodologies, so pointing out a few badly placed temperature gauges proves nothing. Bob Carter you can fool a few naive viewers on YouTube but if you try and support it withe real evidence you are as phoney as Monckton.

  • @richiesvideo "but if you try and support it with real evidence you are as phoney as Monckton."

If he uses real evidence he is phoney? What the...

If you disagree with the evidence, or think his reasoning is flawed, provide evidence that refutes his claims. If you cant, stfu

  • @Binkophile I don't think you understand the scientific process and the nature of peer reviewed science. Monckton is not a scientist. He doesn't understand basic science and confuses for example solar forcing and sensitivity in his talks.

"but if you try and support it with real evidence you are as phoney as Monckton." - this is just plain stupid. Yes you need to support a statement which is way outside the consensus with evidence. Imagine he said smoking didn't cause cancer with no evidence.

  • @richiesvideo Sorry old boy, Jones lied, people died and Mann got his whitewash by an inhouse bunch of drinking buddies. Monckton is as fluent with the science as anyone on Youtube and I do feel he has you terrified.

  • @Binkophile Here's some "Peer Reviewed BS"

From the article “Peer reviewed “Study Linking Vaccines to Autism Is "Fraudulent"

"But it has taken the diligent scepticism of one man, standing outside medicine and science, to show that the paper was in fact an elaborate fraud."

Yup 12 years later, and a outsider had to straighten out and expose the scientists fraud.

  • wow, tree huggers these days need to go out and get a life! no one cares about you and your conspericies! get out of your grandma's basement and make some friends!

  • The reason why I find global warming to be so concurrent is because of the spiritual repercussions.

I hope Heaven is a real place unaffected by the universal cycle. Because if the entire solar system is entering a warmer section of the universe... what if your spirit lasts forever in the afterlife and what if your spirit can still feel pain and what if... the planet heats to unbelievably hot temperatures... Its going to like burning bones that dont die? I guess the pain will pass.

  • I had wondered why we are so pumped full of this global warming propaganda without any actual evidence for it. Now I understand why. Our own met office has key figureheads being funded to publish in its favor. As the met office is part of the ministry of deference it will be trusted and the government will go along with its own green taxes/carbon trading agenda. The BBC is unlikely to criticize as they are not scientifically savvy. And we are stuck with parliamentary idiot Chis Huhne!

  • That was comedy right ??

  • WOW - like many, I was beginning to believe in CO2 global warming....

Facts really take a beating when the mass of people, governments and journalists using social media focus on/or are given the wrong information. Social media seems to me like a global hive mind, a head full of thoughts competing and searching for the correct answers.

Unfortunately - If we were given the wrong information about global warming, its going to take years to filter through to change our social networked global mind.

  • IF CO2 IS SO BAD WHY DO SCHWEPPES AND COCA COLA DISSOLVE MILLIONS OF TONNES OF IT IN FIZZY DRINKS EVERY DAY SO YOU CAN BURP IT OUT OF YOUR GOBS??

WHY DOES NO-ONE SPEAK OF THIS AS A HUGE CLIMATE 'CRIME' ???

ARE THEY BEING TAXED ON THIS OR IS IT ONLY FUEL BEING TAXED TO DEATH??

    WHY WOULD THAT BE?

MAYBE 'COS IT'S ALL A LOAD OF BELCH... CO2 ISN'T CAUSING ANYTHING BUT INDIGESTION. TAKE A RENNIE... LET'S GET ON WITH EXERCISING AND PROTECTING WHAT LITTLE FREEDOM WE HAVE LEFT. EG: FREEDOM TO TRAVEL..

  • @LipsOGonnaghan

carter has ties to corporate carbon industries and has never completed a study on how humans are warming the planet. I asked him. With a little research his history is telling. One of the best sites for a summary is good old Wikipedia. Here's an article that also helps.

Google: Refuting claims that climate forecasts are all up in the air

It is sad and immoral that the vested corporate interests are willing to sacrifice future generations for business-as-usual.

  • @ReduceGHGs - It's sad that you are willing to sacrifice millions of lives and trillions in wealth for your political ego. It's sad that you completely ignore the role that politicians are playing as the DRIVING force in the religion of power that is global warming.

  • New chant for deniers....

    .

"Ignore the best, dig for the rest!"

    .

Like thinning carter has anything meaningful to contribute. He doesn't. But to get to him you have to ignore the many, many very credible experts out there that have studies and respected institutions to back them up. Keep digging, you'll find carter under a rock slimed with vested interest goo. Those corporate interests care nothing for our future generations. They want carter slimed up and looking slick!

  • When Al Gore starts living and pretending there is a global warming crisis, perhaps then at least the fools could start believing him.

  • Who funds Bob Carter? Ask before you take this tripe seriously!

  • @johnedwards1968

Hmmm....odd. When NGO's and various think tanks and universities made bold warmist claims re global warming I did not see you and yours rail about their addiction to taxpayer grant funding.

    Follow the money.

  • bob carter has NEVER completed or seen a study that has determined humans are not warming the planet or that continuing to add CO2 to the atmosphere is not harmful. I asked him last year and he said he didn't have a study. This guy is a marine geologist that studies PAST climates not how humans affect climate today or in the future.

But pleas, ask him and see for yourself.

    bob.carter@ jcu. edu.au

  • @ReduceGHGs Al Gore is a politician.

  • @CokeSupply .

Wrong. Gore hasn't been involved with politics for many years.

If you'd like to learn with his activities are now, Wiki does a pretty good job of giving some detail.

What I don't recommed doing is relying on what Gore says. Read what all of our respected scientific institutions have been saying.

Certainly don't rely on bob carter. Even Wiki tell the story of his ties to corporate interests. Besides, he has no study to back up his claims. I asked him.

  • @ReduceGHGs

Al Gore runs an investment fund that invests in environmentally friendly technologies.

Do you think he has a vested interest?

You have been conned and fallen for it hook line and sinker. If you from the USA you will have enjoyed the lovely winter. Is cold weather due to warming as well?

  • @arsjth .

Try an experiment. Imagine that Gore isn't and never was here. What are you left with? You still have the same well established science that Gore has been talking about. EVERY ONE of our respected scientific institutions concurs; we humans are warming the planet and the consequences are not good. Are they all wrong? Is it a global conspiracy? Come, let’s get real.

    .

The last decade was the hottest recorded. Recent weather is not climate. Know the difference?

  • @ReduceGHGs

Google Global Warming Petition Project. There are more than 31000 more scientists who disagree with you and have every right to be heard and not censored.

This man Bob Carter has made some astonishing points. Are you prepared to say that every single he says is untrue?

  • @GammaRay43 .

You apparently haven't researched the Petition Project (The Oregon Petition). Try doing so. It was corporate propaganda. I asked aurthor robinson, one of the "authors" of that nonsense, if he had a study to support their contention that humans are not warming the planet. He didn't of course. I also asked bob carter if he had a study supporting what he is talking about. He didn't either. These folks do not represent the state of current credible science. Try NAS and AAAS.

  • @ReduceGHGs

Silly goose, there are hundreds of the IPCC that aren't even scientists and many who had to threaten to sue to have their names removed. Also, since the summary was issued first and then the report, one might sanely conclude that the evidence was made to fit the crime.

And it's a crime that you don't know who R. Spenser is.

And how about all those melting Himalayan glaciers? I guess the hack train engineer from India is in hiding since he was humiliated on that.

  • @GammaRay43 .

The reason you are no longer allowed to send me messages is because of your vulgar and nasty tone. Calling me names is poor support for your denial of climate change just as is using j. christy and r. spenser while ignoring what EVERY respected scientific institution has concluded.

So try to be nice or please keep your vulgarity to yourself. Perhaps that's where it belongs. That would be sad for you.

    Learn about this issue.

Google: NAS pdf Climate Change 2008 Edition

  • @ReduceGHGs

oh dear......I called you a silly goose and you are weeping into your knitting. Good riddance. The world needs more men who can deal with the truth and you don't measure up I am certain.

  • @amaRay. Then there's people that think bob carter has something meaningful to contribute. Sorry, he doesn't. He is a marine geologist that has no study to back up his opinions. How would I know? I asked him. In addition he has industry ties. They aren't interested in anything but corporate profits, business-as-usual, without regard to what our future generations will have to pay.

Thanks for cleaning up your language! Still, you have no credible support. Why parrot the propaganda?

  • @ReduceGHGs

Poor baby. All of Mr. Carter's data has been displayed by others on the case. And you find his scientific background offputting? You dunce. A cursory check on the pedigrees of the IPCC gang would make you blow your stack in outrage.

Have a nice day, but don't forget that you are on the losing side of the debate.

    Peace

  • @ReduceGHGs

Poor baby. The emperor has no AGW and you fear the truth.

  • @arsjth

Take note the religionistic nature of the warmist cult. Facts that rattle their premise are mocked and ignored.

  • @ReduceGHGs

All through parts 1 through 4 Bob Carter has names of scientists and organizations that present these uncomfortable graphs and facts. If I can here him quote names and organizations, how can you not?

  • @GammaRay43 .

As a layman, and clearly you are, how is it that you can judge the validity of what bob carter is telling you? You can't.

As for the IPCC, they reviewed hundreds of studies and found, FOUR times now, that we humans are warming the planet. This isn't news and they certainly aren't the only body of expertise saying it. EVERY ONE of our respected scientific institutions that studied the issue concluded about the same on the core issue. What more would a rational mind need?

  • @ReduceGHGs

Phil Jones wants to sell you some beachfront property in Arizona. He knows what a deep thinker you are and he also says his pal Micky Mann has some old ice hockey equipment he wants to sell you. They both need the cash since the river of milk and honey grant cash is drying up and they do need to hide the decline.

  • @GammaRay43.

Can't you come up with something less adolescent? How about attempting a real argument, you know, with evidence supporting conclusions? Need help with critical thinking?

We would talk about the IPCC and what they did but you won't listen. NAS, NCAR, AIP, AAAS, and all the other respected scientific bodies don't matter either do they? Why is that? Go figure.

  • @ReduceGHGs Speaking of core issues.... core samples from both Antarctic ice caps and deep sea bed samples conclude a 650-2000 year gap in CO2 levels and consequential temperature increase... this is documented in Nature, the peer reviewed journal fyi...

  • @smokalot5100 .

Some “experts” use data like that to guide the layman down the wrong path. It deals with what some all the "lead-lag" issue. This is over simplified but… Natural CO2 buildup does appear to increase after temps increase. But keep in mind humans were not moving carbon to any degree during those times. Natural CO2 increases are certainly expected to again follow the temps we are driving up. That compounds the long-term problem. I'll send you a link to one of many sources.

  • @ReduceGHGs Alright, sources are always nice... "Natural CO2 increases are certainly expected to again follow the temps we are driving up"... So you are saying that we are driving up temperature which is then driving up natural CO2... So if that is the case than your basically saying that global warming is not caused by man, but can be exacerbated by man adding more atmospheric CO2 after warming has already started? How is man alone then heating up the planet in the first place w/o CO2?

  • @smokalot5100 .

I'm not making conclusions. What I'm saying is that you should read about this issue and learn what the experts say. I posted a couple links on your board but maybe you deleted them as they didn't agree with your predisposition?

Yes, anthropogenic warming is occurring as per EVERY ONE of our respected scientific institutions. EVERY ONE of them.

Do some reading if you really want to learn what the state of the science is. If you already think you know all about it, congrats.

  • @ReduceGHGs - You're funny. You have no idea that mutual benefits to governments and "scientists" in promoting the global warming scam.

Governments need research to be air-tight, so to speak, to prop up their increased regulation.

"Scientists" need money to live, they get it from government grants and government universities. Those that disagree with global warming aren't treated as healthy skeptics, they're treated as heretics. They don't advance, and they aren't heard.

    Follow the money.

  • @CokeSupply

Al Gore is a crazed sex poodle.

  • @ReduceGHGs

The IPCC is comprised with a melange of philosophers, geologists, acivists (with no degrees) non-climatology scientists. You accept them?

  • Ok submit a science paper! Do not talk to non-science audience. Show courage and submit a paper to "Science" and "Nature". Stop being a PUSSY!!!

  • What is the truth

  • 9:10, dramatic zoom!

  • Nice video. Very nice to watch a clearly spoken, non-emotional scientist, who isn't afraid of being labelled a 'GW denier'. In 5 or 10 years, there will be some other HUGE issue, and all the 'Chicken Littles' of the past 6 years or so, will have moved onto another more convient topic for saving the world with socio-economic 'falling skies', while conveniently forgeting how empassioned they have been with this topic.

  • Thank God someone has the passion and knowledge to show what an absolute scam global warming is. Our politicians as usual follow like blind mice taxing the hell out of us, And for what? Well done Bob Carter. It must be so frustrating trying to get your message across to the uninterested and ignorant.

  • Watch all parts of this debate on ABC watch?v=goDsc9IaSQ8&feature=youtube_gdata_player you will find there what a crock Bob Carter is

  • Nice upload. Global Warming from the people who brought you War, on Global Terror or whathaveyou. Always fighting something with your trillions, these maniacs.

  • Every icicle in Florida, another nail in Al Gore's coffin!

  • Hey Bob Carter... How is it all three satellite data sets agree with the ground station measurements for global average temperature? No air conditioners in space.

  • Bob Carters presentation here is stupid. Temperature measurments all over the northern hemisphere are showing the same trends, the data from stations near cities AND from stations a long way outside the cities. GodAthie, do your homework before commenting. We have interglacial periods each approximately each 100.000 years, these are mainly due to changes in the earths orbit around the sun, the so called Milancovitch cycle, natural changes. These changes happen very very slow, and affects

  • @bergiussss temperatures. Whem temperatures increases, CO2 will naturally be released from the oceans, and amplify the temperatures increasement. This happens during periods of several 1000 years. Whats different now is that co2 concentrations is higher than it has been during the last 400.000 years, and it increases at an alarming pace, and acting as FAST FEEDBACK, wrather than a slow feedback mechanism. 97% of the scientists agree on anthropogenic CC, stop debating, and change your lifestyle.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, and where is the event 800 years ago that caused 30% increase in CO2 recently? Hmmmmm?

  • @bernzeppi You are confusing natural mechanisms with human mechanisms.

  • Hwzit goin deniers? Hottest day in NY, in LA (even taking out the electricity grid), biggest floods innPakistan, hottest day in London, record rain in sydney, fires in Moscow, record floods central Australia, hottest day fer the month very second month in Australia, frozen river in south America, record rains in queensland.... Any of these qualify for extreme events?

  • @bernzeppi 'Records' and acts and god listed without resources or reference. Make an effort if you're trying to convince anyone that the earth is getting hotter in unpredicatble or unusual ways and that it is due to human activity.

  • @bernzeppi You should learn the difference between weather and climate.

  • To those who feel strongly on EITHER SIDE: It's fair to watch this, AND Al Gore's movie.

Problem is, Gore's position appeals to the human psyche. It feels good to believe you're "part of the solution" every time you judge someone else for using the wrong kind of grocery bag.

Believing as I do, ALL of my friends think I'm conspiracy theorist brainwashed by big oil.

Believe me, I would feel a lot more comfortable and well-liked on the other side of the debate. I stand by what I see.

  • I really want to know. REALLY want to know. If you can predict the weather in 2015, 2035. WHY IN THE HE** can't the weather man get it right on the 3 day forecast?

Al Gore has made how much since he left office? If he REALLY saw that global warming is a farce, where or what is his next job? The IGNORING of empirical scientific facts that argue against you is about as bright as thinking your Superman and bullets won't hurt you.

  • flagged for dangerous misinformation

  • Brilliant!!!

  • @FreeMason34

all lies, carter is a known "oil troll" and member of "rightwing" (corporate interests..) think tank

convenient LIES - nothing more... Dangerous stuff if you ask me..

  • If he is really rational about this, he should be ready to eat his words in a decade or so. It is OK to pick on bad nuts among the climate research community but Bob draws generalizations without proof. I feel the whole debate went wrong. Too little discussion of the actual science. We need the modelers to speak up. Let's talk principle here, and then the data. First: What happens when you burn up in 150 years most of what took millions of years to form?

  • The most believable talk from a sceptic.

Still I'm dubious about him saying that global warming is normal because there is global warming a long, long time ago. He seems to say that there is global warming before therefore global warming now a natural cause. Doesn't seem logical to me.

  • Thanks! Great video. Nicely summed up. I'm going to post this to all the global warming idiots I know.

  • one of the most spurious sets of claims that you can find. it's cooling? sure. but the weather stations are in chimneys? so which data set is he using? which data set shows cooling? nah, he didn't leave the graphs up for long enough. just show 1998 and pretend that everything is going down. i hope this oil and mining shill is running for cover in 2010 the way he should be. i hear he wrote some attacks on hansen. all he has left. cya, bob. better luck next time - you and the ipa should slink off.

  • Excellent video, the politicians have no idea what they're talking about and they're furthering a cause which as this bloke quite rightly said, should be dead in the water.

  • Great talk - thanks for posting.

  • Global warming scam = just another way to fleece us, another tax, another form of control. Wake up world!

  • @SoreSmokingMariachi its not a scam why should it be a scam?

  • @xtobiashansen

It is a SCAM because trillion $ in carbon taxes are transferred from many pockets to a few.

  • @SoreSmokingMariachi You think GW's a scam? This numbnuts just predicted another iceage. How expensive do you think dealing with that problem will be?

Even the few weak scientists you can buy for the denier side come off as wacky. There are hundreds of deniers who make fun of how a scientific consensus in the 70s was for global cooling (There wasn't), and the guy they get to defend their viewpoint is a global cooling advocate. The irony is hilarious.

  • @johnedwards1968 Oen your mind and review the science

  • Yet another NWO agenda around global warming extracting & scaring countries worldwide to pay carbon taxes on a natural cycle of the planet, education & common sense tells you pollution is a concern but cleaner energy & restricting deforestation, replanting trees is crucial.

  • Very good presentation of the sceptical view. This is the first I've seen which isn't made by a collegestudent or a child who wants to keep his wellfare. However, I don't believe in Global Warming. I believe in Global Climate Change, and that's a big difference. As he said in the end; There IS a threat, and it can as much be a Global Cooling as an Warming. And it may even be both. When even a great sceptical says that, then you can't ignore it. We are facing great changes in climate.

  • @droogish

look at the guys entire presentation... the climate change we are going through is small when we compare it to the past. even the peak tempatures themselves arent that low or high.

stop thinking about 100years and start looking at the thousands and millions cause then youll see what we do doesnt do a damn thing

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry I'm in the wrong blog. Due to global disruptions in our internet connections. Ontario is experiencing global lightning and global raining, so unlike the global drought predicted by global fat pig Al Gore. You'll notice he is suffering from global obesity and global horniness. Masseurs are at risk.

  • Read the bible: Jesus says, I have not come to bring peace, I have come to bring the sword. Getting superstition out of the way, where was I?

You people seem to have a handle on this alarmism.

CO2 is less than 1% of the molecules of this atmosphere and there is no way that increasing CO2 from 400 to 500 parts per million is going to force the moderating effect of 190,000 ppm oxygen and 890,000 ppm nitrogen. But with this new science created by Al Gore, the earth could self combust.

  • Like i have heard before, when the earth starts to cool ( it's only a matter of when) the cost to humankind will cost more in everthing. eg. crops not growing

  • Co2 has increased by 4% in the 21st century yet still there has been no warming?

So Co2 increases by 4% but the temperature does not increase at all...hmmm... Imperical data vs. playstation models. CRU admits natural variation not included in early models...hmmm.. interesting. But that would mean my electric bill going up 150% just to enrich the government and goldman sachs and the CCX and not AGW!! What a shocker!! The most massive redistribution scheme in history. Bye bye world economy.

  • @Frumibandersnatch

    Quote

Co2 has increased by 4% in the 21st century yet still there has been no warming?

    End quote

So if that is the case how come the world temperatures are the highest on record for the last 12 Months !

Recognise the problem then fix it, don,t ignore it.

  • @patpilotglider Oh, and the record for the 21st century only spans 10 years so far, in that time, Phil Jones said in a BBC interview that there has been "no statistically significant warming". This, even though there's been a relatively big jump in Co2 measurements. Of course it's hard to get a statistically significant anything in a 10 year span. But the warming has stopped for the time being.

Russia dusts off old plans to open the Northeast Passage.

Pirates preying on Asia's sea links to Europe and the prospects of opportunities presented by global warming have prompted Russia to dust off some old plans that have been lying in filing cabinets since the collapse of the Soviet Union - opening the Northeast Passage for sea trade with Asia.

  • AGW religion and its reliance on CO2 is no different to Ozone (O3) and the scandal which continues to this day. The following graph shows no change in O3 levels despite a massive ban on CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons) after the Ozone hole discovery in 1985:

    ww w. junkscience. com/Ozone/plot35910. gif

Will they ban CO2 fire extinguishers as they did BCF ones? You exhale 40,000ppm CO2 every breath (current atmospheric 388ppm), will they outlaw CPR and declare it attempted murder? Wake up people..

  • @MrOllyK

If you believe a single word on the junkscience site, I have a few emails from Nigeria that you might be interested in.

  • @patpilotglider

I checked the authenticity of the chart before I posted the link, and it DOES emanate from NOAA. I don't care what you think of the junk science site, however if you believe a single word on real climate dot org I also have a few Nigerian emails for you.. ;)

  • @MrOllyK

What you don't get is that the graph fine but has no relevance to what is happening at the south pole.

  • @patpilotglider

This is what's happening at the poles:

    ww w. appinsys. com/GlobalWarming/GW_4CE_PolarIceCaps. htm

  • @MrOllyK I was referring to your your claim that Ozone was not a problem. You provided a graph of the ozone levels at the equator when the problem is the ozone hole over the south pole. Just google ozone depletion. Your polar site is out of date. The Antarctic ice cap is losing mass proof comes from measuring the surface height of the ice with Lidar and the bed rock base with radar giving the thickness of the ice.

  • @patpilotglider

So why should CFC's be selective and only attack ozone at the southern end, where temps atypical also occur at the northern end? In any case, there has been no ozone depletion where lives depend on it and, even in mid-summer you can't receive enough radiation at the south pole.

Antarctica losing mass? Have you weighed it recently? Sure it's not compressing? The chart is only out of date by a few months - look for a newer one if you like.

  • @patpilotglider, the ozone "hole" isn't a hole at all, just a thinning:

    `

    ww w. junkscience. com/Ozone/ozone_seasonal. html

    `

    sppiblog.org/news/the-cfc-ban-global-warmings-pilot-episode

    `

The antarctic ice sheets are deposited as snow, compress and slide over the land into the oceans over time such as glaciers do, eventually chunks calve and the cycle continues. However, reduced seasonal snowfall and high regional winds will ablate the snow and ice like Mt. Kilimanjaro was affected.

  • co2 no dangeros, one three absorver carbone. but is best MOTOR MAGNETIC FREE ENERGY

    !!

  • Think about it, what are people saying? That until we started burning fossil fuels the earth warmed and cooled on its own and now for the last 100 years it has suddenly stopped doing it by itself and we are now suddenly causing it all by ourselves. Like it isn't supposed to warm and cool anymore, but should stay constant.

    Are you kidding?

  • @johnba291972 Exactly. Seems a little retarded doesn't it.

I figure having a global "crisis" is a good way for politicians to start up a global government. I mean they seem to be constantly getting together to pass global rules about the environment. Interesting way to use environmentalism against the people.

  • @tiuric77 yes, you will probably find most of these politicians have shares and other involvements in all these green products and businesses that you get everywhere nowadays. This is probably why they use their influence to try and convince everyone of it.

convinced people = green products selling like crazy = value of their shares going through the roof

When people could do with putting their money to better use.

  • @johnba291972 I have nothing against green products if they are actually green. I mean no one wants to pollute on purpose. Regardless of climate change or not. That is common sense. However that has nothing to do with all this OMG THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END WE SHOULD ALL RUN AND HIDE UNDER THE GOVERNMENT'S DRESS. If your worried about climate change learn how to live in a self suffucient and sustainable manner. Don't rely on a banker turned politician.

  • His torpedoes are off target . For example his claim that temperatures have not increased recently (last 12) years. That it has increased should be obvious to all without resorting to any temperature sets. Some 90%+ of all monitored glaciers are in retreat. Both polar ice caps are are in decline. In my part of the world we have just had 123 days of daily temperatures exceeding 20 Degs Celsius, the previous record was 78 days. This is just the sort thing that climate change predicts.

    I

  • @patpilotglider Don't you get it? He is not saying that climate change isn't happening, it is and it always has done. That's the point, We are not causing it. It is something that happens normally and has done since the beginning of time. What caused the ice age? What caused the ice age to end? Not us thats for certain.

  • @johnba291972

The fact that humans had nothing to do with previous climate change events has nothing to do with fact that we are causing it now by increasing the amount of CO2 in the air. You can't just change the composition of the atmosphere and hope it will have no effect.

  • @patpilotglider

And how much co2 do you think humans put into the air?

It's 2.5% of the total amount, 2.5%. How does taking away at most 1% of this, cause the rest is impossible to take away, stop climate change?

It might slow down the changes by a miniscule fraction, but it won't stop something natural. Besides that, there is still no evidence of co2 being the cause of the warming

  • @patpilotglider Unbelievable. Did you even watch the video above?

It's like talking to one of those creationist ID-iots.. fanaticly repeating their mantra even if you smack them in the head with the actual evidence..

If you want to keep falling in line with all the other blind sheep and solve a not existing problem by reducing CO² emissions.. why don't you just do us all a favor and stop breathing? ;)

  • @patpilotglider , Yes there is change, no one is denying that, but the video, if you were paying attention, is that change, of the nature you describe is absolutly normal.

  • See how Koch Industries spent $50 million supporting "Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFP)" and 40 other 'echo-chamber' organizations in the 'climate denial machine' as well as millions in Republican campaign contributions.

Jim Hoggan, author of 'Climate Cover-up", and Rachel discuss the oil & coal campaign, using 40 separate 'echo' organizations, to spew false & misleading propaganda about global warming.

  • MIT denier Lindzen told the BBC that ExxonMobil was "the only principled oil and gas company I know in the US" and that "they have a CEO who is not going to be bamboozled by nonsense."[19]

In a 2001 profile in Newsweek, journalist Fred Guterl wrote that Lindzen "clearly relishes the role of naysayer. He'll even expound on how weakly lung cancer is linked to cigarette smoking."[17]

    LOL!!!!

  • It is good to see a properly constructed scientific response to the nonsense surrounding AGW. Prof Carter's final statements are absolutely true. We must prepare for any upcoming change in climate - warming or cooling - not try to prevent it. The idea that we can significantly change the climate is absurd.

Keep the science real - stop the religious zealots.

  • @goog2k:

Billions are being poured into pushing the AGW agenda by government. The amount being funded by oil is a drop in the ocean by comparison. The truly ignorant don't bother pointing that out, and the reasonable consider it irrelevant, since no amount of propaganda money can change the actual facts.

  • Bob Carter is also a stooge paid by Oil & Coal, the same as so-called "scientists" who were paid by the Tobacco industry for 40 years, telling us smoking was safe.

In March 2007 the Sydney Morning Herald reported Professor Carter said the role of peer review in scientific literature was overstressed, and whether a scientist was funded by the fossil fuel industry was irrelevant.

"I don't think it is the point whether or not you are paid by the coal or petroleum industry,'" said Professor Carter.

  • @goog2k oil and coal employ scientists wow really i never knew that, ok so thats out of the way. So global warming is real because you say so and because all men who work for oil companies are corrupt or lier's have you got a study to show this or is just a feeling like your science. Think with logic not your emotions.

  • glennimmortal, there is science and there is propaganda. The tobacco industry told us for 40 years that smoking was SAFE (maybe even healthy, LOL!!!)

The same people, and some of the same "scientists" are now telling us there is no AGW.

    Duhh???

  • @goog2k This is purile nonsense. Firstly, they are not the 'same scientists'. Secondly, science must be open for debates from all sides - otherwise it becomes a religion. Thirdly, insulting people who disagree with you will never win them round to your way of thinking.

You are making a hypothesis about AGW - you have to back it up with facts, not insults or false claims. You have to prove it. Prof Carter doesn't have to disprove it - but he clearly has!

  • @goog2k Then this is obviously a weird sided story, how the heck can a climate scientist be believed then to hear them say something that has to do with health.

If your going to say it that way, then it's obvious that we would think that it would make no sense. Then let's look at this in another way, then why can Al Gore a politician be believed then since he obviously makes speeches Global Warming, which is the job of a Climate Scientist who actually specialized in Climate Change?

  • allan, you're such a pathetic LIAR and you never provide a single source for any of your ridiculous claims.

Maybe because whenever you've given one it's always been from a neo-con propaganda mill funded by Oil & Coal -- just like Bob Carter.

    LOL!!!

  • punchville, why don't you tell us about the Permian extinction. Temps. spiked 10C (18F) and methane killed 85% of all life and 95% of OCEAN organisms.

  • Deniers are helping to KILL America's chance to lead the new Green Energy revolution.

Whoever leads Green Energy will be the leader of the world's future economy.

  • There you go - its all about money and ruling the world.

They realise that its the new leading industry and they want it to control it, same as they run the banking industry.

There is already a green energy revolution - but its in the hands of the people and not the governments, which is why they want to set up Co2 trading so they run the show.

The next exonomic revolution will be in the consumers hands as econimics works best - dont let governments control it by Co2 trading schemes

  • allan, you show your utter ignorance again. T.Boone Pickens wants to invest over $1billion in windmills in the midwest but America doesn't have the smart grid infrastructure to get the power to the cities.

JEEZ allan, you are a silly fool.

  • @goog2k

With the advancements in fuel cell technology we probably wont have a grid in the future. You silly fool.

With so much advancing in technology and so many unknowns why would the government invest in updating the grid when half the new green power ideas dont require it.

Personally i'd prefer farm land to be used for agriculture and not wind farming - there are far better ideas then wind.

  • @allanallanson Fuel cells could be a dead end as to the rare metals used in them. the energy crisis will come but the answer is no where to be found yet. Electric cars will push copper, lithium shortages, hydrogen cells will push peak Platinum also. we are left with bio fuels, wind, solar, nuclear, tidal, coal, and hydro. Wind and solar are not cost effective yet and i doubt they will ever be. so this list is pretty short for viable solutions. but I am hopeful we will find away forward

  • And dickhead -

Do you think a $50billion investment in green energy would have helped improve sustainability?

Because thats what they wasted trying to prove Co2 is the casue of AGW - when they couldnt prove anything! They wasted our money & still want us to pay for Co2, after wasting $50BN proving nothing!!

So its really the global warming fucks who are taking money away from pro environmental budgets to pay for pointless research projects on Africans attitude to AGW & crap like that!

  • allan, you're so damn ignorant it's a total waste of time.

But, please provide a source for your silly $50 billion rant.

  • Old mate Bob Carter - and other internet sources.

Aside from that Gore is spending $300 million on advertising - maybe he could donate that to a green fuel research company?

When you add up all the grants, groups, research projects, satellite time etc its probably more.

To show how poorly the money is being spent - a research group was sent to Africa to determine the natives attitude toward AGW. The findings - Africans blame themselves for AGW.

Great use of US tax money

  • Whats smarter -

Spend billions on research to prove Co2 drives climate, then tax everyone to reclaim the money to put back into sustainable projects, or

Just put the billions directly into sustainable projects without prooving Co2 drives climate - since we need to be more sustainable anyway.

Why not the second option? Becasue too many ex politicians and friends are so heavily invested in Co2 trading. They want to make money selling Co2. Fucking hypocrites.

    And you say i'm ignorant

  • @allanallanson Allan back off with the logic they don't get it

  • Get your facts straight. There were separate mass extinctions at 260 and 65Ma, One of these involved impact of a meteorite (the one that killed the dinosaurs). The cause of the other at ~250 Ma is hottly debated but there is ample evidence of global cooling. Other possibilities include impact, volcanism, H2S emission...So which one do you mean?

The period 200 to 65 Ma was characterised by very high CO2, warm climate, and life thrived. Thats why dragonflies were almost as large as Eagles...

  • We make 90 million tons CO2 each DAY. That's 3.4% of the natural production.

Atmospheric CO2 is rising 2ppm per year (0.5%), TWICE that of 50 years ago.

CO2 levels are 35% above the highest levels for 650,000 years.

50% of CO2 is dissolved in oceans.

In 30 years CO2 will reach 450ppm which most oceanographers warn will interfere with growth of calcium carbonate forming planktons and corals.

They make the base of the ocean's food chain.

  • But as already the presentation has showed you, it has been much more warmer in the past. And if only the Polar Bears could live in the areas of the ice, then we can conclude that there are other effects changing the amount of ice.

For example water currences and the amount of yearly snow.

  • I'm well aware of the old 'acidifying ocean' chestnut. It is enjoying renewed scare story popularity now that global warming has become satire.

Phytoplankton are one of the oldest forms of life on the planet, they have been around for billions of years and can handle a little pH variation perfectly well (otherwise they would not be here now)

Again Co2 is actually NOT high in geological history, it is very very low.

    Cambrian period (7000+ppm Co2)

  • It's now been shown ocean acidification by atmospheric CO2 reduces the iron available for photosynthesis and reduces growth of phytoplankton.

Science, 2/5/10 - Effect of Ocean Acidification on Iron Availability to Marine Phytoplankton by Dalin Shi

Phytoplankton are the microscopic plants at the very base of the oceans food pyramid, providing food for all other ocean life.

Ocean thermal stratification is also reducing phytoplankton growth & uptake of CO2. Pedro Cermeño 12/23/08, Rutgers

  • Ahhh haha Goog2k is resorting to the ocean acidification scare tactic.

    Man you are pathetic.

Bob Carter has presented the best argument and here you still are crying like a baby spamming away to keep the boss happy.

Time for you to go back to the street corner with your cardboard sign telling everyone armageddon is here LOL

  • Gook2g "In just 30 years CO2 will be over 450ppm, enough to acidify oceans to the point of stopping the growth of many planktons and corals. They are at the base of the oceans' food chain."

Oceans are alkaline, not acid. extra Co2 actually neutralizes the pH very slightly making it less 'bleach-like' As for the base of the food chain, keep going, what do plankton thrive on?

    scientists call it Co2..

(warmy globey people call it pollution!)
