  • "In this video clip, I will be discussing..." *face palm*

  • You've played this clip to learn something, haven't you?

So I think you should respect this man as he prepared this clip.

    Thanks John, keep it up.

  • should of welded your toaster before you started recording with it

  • See my channel for video response, "Hi This is John"

  • 0-15 degrees backhand inclanation. to much back hand inclanation and rideing the crucible will increase voltage resulting in less penetration

  • WRONG!

  • TWO HANDS?.... GOOD LUCK PIPELINING, must be AMERICAN......LOL

  • @Biasetsky ROFL hence the ENGLISH in the vid

  • @Biasetsky Noooh!Ukraine and proud of meself ungh!

  • Why two hands??

  • Is he Mr. Rogers grandson?

  • This white boy need to go back to welding school !

  • Im being teach to do circles or zig zags.

  • zombie

  • John is now dead. RIP

  • wow a "how to weld" video without welding!

  • Fish scales, my boy...fish scales.......

  • /watch?v=TvtTBZlsKkQ

Watch welding complete instructional videos on my channel

  • Weird ass grip. I guess it works if you're a noob and stick the electrode a lot but by your second week you shouldn't be sticking it more than one every dozen passes or so.

  • @Piklethedoodad when i weld arc, i have 3 fingers relaxed around the handle, one above the clamp release, and my thumb at the handles tip, on the opposite side. Almost like grabbing a gun. I arc weld one handed though. How do you do it?

  • @Piklethedoodad I do agree though, he has a weird grip. I like to be relaxed when i weld. Not so forceful.

  • expert vilage he fucking sucks

  • a lot of stupid comments .the video is good , the guy is doing his job well ,so where is the problem

  • @must041968 Actually...he's not doing his job well at all. Firstly, his arc striking technique is peculiar...you would either drag the electrode from before the intended weld start or strike at it, not before. Secondly, his discussion of angles is all wrong. He fails to discuss work angles or travel angles. Lastly...I'm sure you could run semi or full circles while arc welding but that is more common practice with oxy-fuel weldding (brazing/braze welding).

  • Chuck Norris welds in his spare time without protection just to keep his tan topped up.

  • @TK42138 Chuck Norris is not an idiot.

  • more advenced welding tips: a) little circles b) little moons

  • no gloves..

in australia thats an OH&S issue,

    but thanks,

  • @TANKprideSZ nevermind i took it judged to early,

    pardon me,

  • scratch starting is for beginners and suck.. if your decent you should be tap starting..

  • This really helped me out, despite the jokes the people here posted about this guy name John. I can't maintain a straight bead for shit... But holding it at that angle might do some justice during my Training.

  • is this guy alive?

  • and today your teacher will be... a human pencil

  • @gaypotter ^ a tool x)

  • straight line my ass

  • expert village sucks !! this guy sucks

    that camera sucks

  • the reason welding burns your skin and eyes is not only the heat but it gives of ultraviolet so you can get like sunburnt if you dont coverup yor skin real well

  • Not taking the advice of the so-called 'experts' in the videos shown here. But thinking of changing careers. Want to take up welding. But wanna make sure its the best field to get into. I am really not mechanically inclined (been a Computer Operator from 1987 to 2008), but enjoy using my hands. Is welding still a fit?

  • Good ol expert Village, Ididots posing as experts, hell yeh!!

  • gayyyy

  • go get a life you trolls!

  • welding can burn the hell out of your skin and eyes----

  • the coating flux will produce the protective gas during welding process..

  • @danfrederiksen the process of welding is called TIG or tugston inert gas welding wich the arc is controled by a foot peddle and the heat of the arc is controlled by how hard you press on the peddle and the sheliding gas is argon wich is availble from any industral gas compony

  • @danfrederiksen the rod is coated in magneese wich burns off protecting the weld while the arc is active

  • 90° Angle, what do you want to reacht with that? 70° is normal.

90 might be good for ascending welding, but not for horizontal.

  • is there no protective gas in this process?

  • @DanFrederiksen

Yes there is but it is produced by the melting of the flux on the electrode

  • if you lookin for videos to teach your self search for khawajaarslanahmed his the man! trust me on that!

  • this guy probably has aspergers.

  • lol he looks like the liquid terminator from t2

  • olle amigo donde te enseñaron a soldar, en packing plant estas bien paisa

  • 7 people like dick

  • @BibiioJennyaa430 are you a girl

  • that kid seems so up tight hey man relaxe and smooth your body just be cool

  • teachers say u need to wear gloves....

  • Dear John, if you ever read this comment section don't give a fuck about what these roody poo's say. These people could only talk of how you look like rather than what your doing coz that's how they used to be in school anyway, making fun of people rather than studying, that's why they're trolls in Youtube anyway. Truth is that the country needs workers with manufacturing skills like you rather than some jobless youtubers if we are to compete with China in the future.

  • i only doing circles for big gaps or if my rod is small for a certain project

  • this cunt reminds me of LURCH this cunts awesome

  • hang on. Are we watching a welding video or a medieval Jester show?

  • this guy!!!!!!

  • expert village isn't worth a flying fucking goddamn.

Strike a goddamn arc and run a fuckin bead for god's sake.

  • thanxx john

  • HELL-O HUMANOID I AM JOHN THE ROBOT

  • lol he stand with his arms straight, GOD don't make it so obvious you are on camera..

  • i thought 7018 welding yur only supposed to go straight, and 6010 you whip...

  • U dress like Vanilla Ice, John.

    But can U RAP??? WHITEEE?

  • Thank you for the great beginners info, this will help

  • john the robot

  • wait i should pull? i always push....is there really a difference?

  • Thank you John, was doing it completely wrong. I was one of those guys thinking 'how hard can it be.....' well i just found out. Much appreciated buddy, ohh and agree with ijaijaija - get a life people this guy is giving great advice for free, if you dont like it go back to your lol cat video's!!!

  • Its 7018

  • dude that's the "i like turtles" guy in 20 years!!

  • Thanks mate. Excellent advice.

  • Wouldnt those " moons" or what ever he said be called spot welding?? I'm 17 just now learning how to weld and I believe I'm right...

  • @picklesphs12 no spot welding is is tacking where u only weld a little bit it will kinda look like this for spot welding sorry this going to b a poor demo lol _____.______.______._____ where each period is tht would b a spot weld

  • man... yall are dicks lol

  • Tip : Don't use 2 hands even if you are just starting out, learn to get in a comfortable position use one arm to support yourself and place your hand under your welding hand and support it up. This gives you more freedom to move. Holding your stinger with both hands limits that movement.

  • Looks like john smoked his breakfast..

  • that looks like a 6013 rod

  • Welding for Zombies.............

  • globalweldingservices dot co dot uk

  • You're dead....right?

  • Ever see the "I like turtles" kid? I think we may have found his father.

  • id recommend that u don't ever teach welding just get out of it

  • You look like you belong in a cult... freak.

  • zombie??????

  • too much talk and too little action

  • hi thums down from baberjacks@ youtube. tipicly you should die.

im not a big big fan, thums down dood.

if u don't learn to fuse both surfaces and do a straight line your welds will fail

  • i use one hand and lean up against the wall to keep me steady..i've tried 2 hands and it's just too awkward...and i bend the rod to the position i want so my shoulder isn't up awkward cause eventually you'll just kill your shoulder

  • Why is pulling the rod recommended? Will pushing the stick work?

  • little curves is the best ofcourse

  • Thanks for the tips! :)

  • looks like Frankenstein :D

  • LOLOL! hahahahhahahhahahahhah

  • dont do heroin

  • Thank you for your help , all tips are greatly received

  • how do you keep the welding electrode study when welding ? I have a unsteady hand as i think i will get a shot of the welding gun .

have you got any suggestions for me

  • @flash51050 Now im only a beginner but i am in a high school class. my instructor tells me to position both of my elbows against my chest and and keep the electrode holder as close to my stomach as possible. using 2 hands like one over the other one on the electorde holder lever incase ur electrode sticks to quickly get it out you know. I dont know if this is the right method but it seems to work out fairly descent for me.

  • @kasch0 not necessarily, you should hold the whip in the position thats most comfortable to you. btw i suggest the 7018 low hydrogyn rods there amazing thats what were using at the moment at my college

  • @Xxsn0wb0ardxX I perfer 6013 or 7014

  • @flash51050 it takes time for your body to adjust...there's no way to just get a steady hand..have to practice and eventually the muscles in your arm/hand will build up and you'll be able to weld with ease

  • Penis.

  • Comment removed

  • @433bowman seriously?? fuckin grow up..

  • @433bowman ur gay

  • After watching this il have to make some videos n show you how to weld.

  • who says zombies cant talk!!!

  • I noticed that almost all of the comments are jr high kids whining because they can't get laid and not actually about the info.

    Is it correct or not?

As far as the text goes... I love it! I can't always listen at full volume and sometimes it's important to know what's going on.

  • Comment removed

  • Text??

    Fucking assholes.

  • I think the Microsoft Sam voice is less electronic than this guy.

  • @yerboogieman

    LOL Microsft Sam....Bloody!

  • Hi my name is john and Im to stoned to operate machinery

  • @StraightUpM3 HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Expert Village videos suck balls...

  • you suck at welding ass hole

  • What a mong!

  • RE; comments.....some people were right no its not between 90 and 45 and there can be changes but the exact and expected angle when welding is 15 degrees whether drag or push, and when welding with e7018 and not e6010 do you need to strike 1 inch into the direction that your welding and return to your start so that the low-hyd rod (e7018) can warm up. and yes there are regulations when it comes to welding position, ARM supports and 2 HANDS hold the electrode holder. I'm a UA Certified Welder.

  • Stay in school this way you wong get fired!!

  • As an Adult with bad ADHD. I watch his videos quite a lot to learn how to act in public.

Stand Straight and dont move head and body and talk slow. keeping to the point.

  • @Nevawake Lol ;)

  • I just laughed loled

  • if u go 45 degrese u will get no penetration, it's 5 dergese. and if u do a moon u will end up with a bunch of pin-holes all over.

  • and with regards to this video. for an 'expert village' i can find far more informative and better videos from people just doing it at home. every 'expert village' I've seen has been a minute or two long and not even covered the basic. ultimate FAIL. u-milly-ation

  • Alright, just out of curiosity: I picked up a cheap (I'm talking $50 here) 115v 70a arc welder, and the "sample" electrodes sparked alright, but I used those up and now I can't get a 6011 3/32" rod to carry the spark. It literally immediately sticks to the work piece. I have to basically bounce it off to prevent it from sticking - which obviously means I can't do more than make ugly burn circles. What gives? Just a useless purchase?

  • @andrewmacc a lot of the cheaper electrodes do this. I've had exactly the same problem when I was welding custom gates and railings. EVERY SINGLE electrode would stick, every time. he'd bought them all in a big bulk pack really cheap, either damp or just rubbish. the only way to use them is 'preheating'.

  • @andrewmacc to 'preheat', stick a bit of scrap plate on the connected bench. very quickly drag the electrodes across it, violently or tapping it if it won't start, until it sparks as it's running across. drag it a few times, then immediately go to the work piece, within a second or two. you need some genuine, brand name electrodes, like BOC. or a modern digital set with 'hotstart', which sends a pulse through to get tricky electrodes burning.

  • @andrewmacc i have used gas, stick, mig and tig and all have their uses. to be fair, i am just as pleased with stick a lot of the time. if I load a good stainless electrode into one, I can produce a beautiful, textbook, stupidly strong weld with stick. mig is for high production and is often poor. tig is for ultimate precision and odd materials. stainless will work perfectly with stick. gas is only good for castings and cutting thick stuff now (plasma / laser / waterjet wins for thin / precise).

  • im sorry this guy fails.

  • This is not a human..This is an android..

  • Has he been welding without a helmet? I admit its good info but he seems to be as enthusiastic as Sam Adams going to an AA meeting.

  • FUCK all of you here !! the guy is trying to teach you something and everyone is making fun of him !! you all guys are ill mannered lol .. and yea of course the video wont be covering alot of details cuz the guy is advertising for the website at the end of the video where you can get more videos ... sick ppl !!

  • @ijaijaija

shhh its hilarious keep it going

  • @ijaijaija He tries. AND FAILS.

  • please, try to redo this video when you haven't done 10 lines of coke.

  • these videos suck and there is so much bullshit he is telling you.

  • Thats what welding dose to you . its the radiation. and the smoke.

  • lol expert video is terrible ..

  • Horrible!!!

  • Give the guy a break, imagine how much he must have been picked on in school, what with his father being Lurch from the Addams Family. YOU RANG??????

  • Here is how it's really done! Check out welding with sparklers

  • think he's a puppet

  • you suck, man

  • bet that guy works 4 skynet makin T1000

  • hi this is jon im half human half android Lol

  • This was the kid that likes turtles, now all grown up.

  • i used the little circles technique and my welds looked like a stack of quarters layed out across a table

  • prehaps you critics should make a video of your own

  • i completly agree with the draindeimo as i have posted on several other of jons videos it is for BEGINNERS many people will find these tips useful stop being so pig headed and showing off.

  • everybody that is consitently hating on this guy needs to chill the fuck out, if you read the title its BEGINERS TIPS, not pipe line welding god

  • using 2 hands to strike an arc, he dosent seem veryy fast, he would never make it in a fab shop rolling pipe..just dont come off as a 200 inch a day welder..

  • you bum

why would he wanna work in some low paying bottom feeding fab shop?

    moron!

  • this guy seems like he has a gun to his head

  • Could be. My mom never learned how to weld.

  • So he's going to strike his arc outside of his bead, and then move away from where he started his arc? Boy, that would look pretty....................ugly. Who's this guy's instructor?

  • @DougDaCosta your mom

  • @DougDaCosta no he strikes it, then moves back so he gets full penetration

  • its called a stingers dumb ass

  • he doesnt know what hes talkin about

  • today im going to show you how to be a manikin.

  • what a cadaverous looking dude.

  • @azzy314159

    You rang....

  • so arc and stick welding is the same?

  • yes

  • We're supposed to hold ours at about a 15-20 degree angle. And I always have used one hand on the electrode holder. You should be strong enough to hold it with one hand. And that is just plain stupidity striking the arc in front of were you will actually start.
