@20511artik ahh got it make a directory in c: call it oldgames or something , load dosbox , mount c: c:\oldgames , then mount your cd drive , when your asked to install to directory pick c:\oldgames \keeper and it will install and load up just fine , and yeah i'm a complete noob at this myself :)

HOLY SH1T! I got into the DD setup! here's what I did:

mount c: c:\

c:

cd keeper

mount D: H:\ (H is my iso drive or cerwyn's E)

D:\keeper\DOSSETUP\DDINST.exe

Now when I enter the full path as c:\keeper it says:

Copying Files ...

Copying Aborted.

My main problem is that i don't have a separate iso for deeper dungeons (using a DK gold iso) and i can't figure out exactly when to use the X:\Keeper\DOSSETUP\DDINST.exe command. I'm not sure if skipping the DDINST will affect the rest of my setup for just Dungeon keeper so I'm not sure if I should just keep following this vid exactly. It's worked fine until after the DK instal. Now I'm getting the red disc with a ? when i try to run it again. I'm only about half way through part 1 here. Sorry.

Also another problem i had when trying to get deeper to run and i kept getting "?" other than not using "INSTALL_PATH=.\" in keeper.cfg,

I forgot to put the launchdeeper.conf at the end of my directory in the dosbox shortcut. So it was running the game without actually having pre-mounted the image file. Dumb mistake but for those who are having trouble to following the video exactly. Chances are itll be something silly thats causing you trouble.

The installation of dungeon keeper 1 went without problems. When I want to install deeper dungeons from dossetup\ddinst it asks for the language, after that I fill in the path c:\keeper and then it says copying files... but immediately after that it says copying aborted.

Hi. I Have Dungeon keeper gold and the dk1 runs great in dosbox, but the deeper dungeons refuses to install. Any clues on why? The the deeper dungeons installer is on the cd is located under the keeper\dossetup-folder. But when I`m trying to install it it just says "coppying aborted". Annoying. I have a burned copy of the actual game from AGES ago, and when i run the setup through DOSBox everything works, but when i exit DOSBox and come back another day, i cant figure out how to just run the game without going through setup, because if i DO go through setup, i have to go back to level 1. I should have bothered to look after so many years, but yes there is, in the steps i did to install Deeper Dungeons, to install Deeper Dungeons, the install file is located at X:\Keeper\DOSSETUP\DDINST.exe, run that and you can install Deeper Dungeons from the GOLD disc!

I had the disc with question mark image show up. I changed my KEEPER config file so the first line read

INSTALL_PATH=.\

as in the video, rather than trying to describe the whole path. That fixed the "?".

I have all the Dungeon Keeper files in a folder (no cd), and it is perfectly runnable in Windows 95 and XP (I've tested) so there is nothing wrong with my files. However, whenever I try to run it in dosbox, it comes up as "This program cannot be run in dos mode". How come I am getting this error?

@flamingwookiee You are getting that error because you are running the 9X (non-ds) version of Dungeon Keeper, wherever you downloaded the game from only put the Windows 95 version files up. If you DO own the physcial CD the dos files reside in a folder labeled 'DOSSETUP'

Hello, I've been playing DK Gold using DosBox for some time. Obvs DK Gold includes Deeper Dungeons, which works fine on Win 95/98 but there doesn't appear to be a DOS install for it on the CD.

Do you have any ideas? I don't have a separate CD for Deeper Dungeons and am sofar unable to find one online anywhere, legal or not!

While I don't condone downloading the game, if you follow the steps for setting up dosbox, mount your drive (where the exe's are) and execute keeper.exe, it'll run.

However Deeper Dungeons will not run unless you create an ISO of the DD files
