Tegra 2 is fine but lacked neon support and it had its own hitches but overall great and short lived. The IPad 2 CPU & GPU is better than Tegra 2 but Tegra 3 is a different story not to mention the difference in the size of the screens and the dpi they push but all in all iOS is more optimized and Android is getting there fast especially with ICS since honeycomb was just not the best first impression but Google is known for pushing beta type stuff and making it better later

The opening of this video is a joke since the iPad 2's GPU performs better than Tegra 2's. Now, you can't really make a DIRECT comparison since most Tegra 2 10" tablets run a higher resolution (1280 x 800) than the iPad 2's (1024 x 768) and most benchmarks of Tegra 2 gaming are done on 10" tablets, but one can extrapolate a little and see that the Tegra 2 wouldn't perform as well as the iPad 2 at a slightly lower resolution. Also, the OS's are different. Would be nice to see more direct comparis

I´m not a "touch" dude, I´m 31 and I started to like what I´m watching right now, and MIPS ARM dualcore and integrated GPU...looks pretty good...I hope the price tag too as well, ipad 2 is cool but a little expensive for my budget and I´m not an apple consumer...nice review Linus !

@BloodHassassin and just for a nail in the coffin, go to 4:40 and pause video, look at the washed out screen on the left, then look at the vibrant screen colors on the right. VERY clear when watching a 720p video of this, imagine if you saw it in person. Also you can search IPS on youtube.

The Apple brand targets a yuppie clueless to tech spec demographic. The iPad was not tech impressive (4:3, 1024 x 768 screen LOL). Apple is notorious for limiting tech/features on devices, simply so they can add them a year later and launch an version 2, 3, 4. This of course doesn't phase the yuppies because their clueless to the tech specs anyway. Apple doesn't impress me, over priced mediocre tech with great marketing.

@Impenneteri Exactly my point. Apple demonstrated how to do it the right way, and now people are expanding on it. Also, I do hope that a W8 tablet will work well, because it would really speed up my design process (if it is efficient enough).
One more thing. The iPad was targeted at an audience of older adults needing an easy to learn device, and at people who wanted a simple tablet that worked for reading and not much more. All the apps that extend it now are just additions to this goal.

The dual core PowerVR SGX 543 in the iPad 2 is definitely better than the Geforce ULP GPU in the Tegra 2 by a long shot, just look at the OpenGL 2.0 Egypt benchmarks. 80+ FPS on iPad 2 and 20+ on galaxy tab 10.1. I *sniff* a Android fan boy...

Kind of funny since the Tegra 2 gets smoked by the A5 in pretty much every test. The PowerVR SGX543MP2 is much faster then the Tegra 2. Even my SGX 540 in my phone holds it's own against Tegra 2.

excuse the crap research, wasn't sure which crappy proc was in the ipad 2, but as it appears it is a crappy dual core A4 running @ 1ghz(or really, a A5) manufactured at 45nm
conpared to the Tegra 2, which is also duo core, same architecture, has a gpu embedded in it and is manufactured in 40nm, meaning more transistors=more performance

Finally tegra2 android tablets win because you can connect it to a much better screen if you want to and are not limited to the 768p screen.

Simply put you still can't beat IPS lcd screens, they have the most accurate colors, and also keep those even when you slightly tilt the screen unlike this Tegra. They made a great device but skimped on the screen technology. Like I said, the only thing better would be OLED, I have OLED on my Android phone.... but I see you simply don't understand what these technologies are. Google google google. Don't settle for this old crap.

@BloodHassassin and just for a nail in the coffin, go to 4:40 and pause video, look at the washed out screen on the left, then look at the vibrant screen colors on the right. VERY clear when watching a 720p video of this, imagine if you saw it in person. Also you can search IPS on youtube.

But Linus (who can see the displays himself) tells me otherwise. Anyhow I don't say the Ipad is a bad product, its good, only its very overpriced.... as all apple products.

It self corrected when they pulled back, not that it has anything to do with this conversation, but ok what ever. @Deanzsyclone The Transformer is actually an HD display unlike the iPad. And when you actually compare the screen, even by an apple fanboy like John4lakers, he says the screen is vivid and beautiful and hd content fits perfectly.

Why are you judging displays of devices off of a compressed 720p video of off youtube which is then showed on your monitor. That, along with different angles, lighting and brightness's makes it senseless. Look at the HD TV behind him, its looks blue. In real life, i bet its white as paper. Please look at the damn devices in real life before you make conclusions.

The Apple brand targets a yuppie clueless to tech spec demographic. The iPad was not tech impressive (4:3, 1024 x 768 screen LOL). Apple is notorious for limiting tech/features on devices, simply so they can add them a year later and launch an version 2, 3, 4. This of course doesn't phase the yuppies because their clueless to the tech specs anyway. Apple doesn't impress me, over priced mediocre tech with great marketing.

as much as iOS devices do not have in these ways, you, for the applications intended, DO NOT NEED THEM. Even though Tegra2 is awesome, iOS is built without these in mind.
Oh, and may I remind you that without Apple, these products would not exist. Everyone else is a copycat of the iPad.

Apple just had a better idea on how tablet should be but obviously people are now getting that Apple's tablet is too closed and has a lot of limitations, that you begin to think that it just an iphone with a bigger screen.
Hopefully when Windows 8 comes out we get to experience a fully functional PC that runs in a tablet.

@Impenneteri Exactly my point. Apple demonstrated how to do it the right way, and now people are expanding on it. Also, I do hope that a W8 tablet will work well, because it would really speed up my design process (if it is efficient enough).
One more thing. The iPad was targeted at an audience of older adults needing an easy to learn device, and at people who wanted a simple tablet that worked for reading and not much more. All the apps that extend it now are just additions to this goal.

The dual core PowerVR SGX 543 in the iPad 2 is definitely better than the Geforce ULP GPU in the Tegra 2 by a long shot, just look at the OpenGL 2.0 Egypt benchmarks. 80+ FPS on iPad 2 and 20+ on galaxy tab 10.1. I *sniff* a Android fan boy...

Kind of funny since the Tegra 2 gets smoked by the A5 in pretty much every test. The PowerVR SGX543MP2 is much faster then the Tegra 2. Even my SGX 540 in my phone holds it's own against Tegra 2.

excuse the crap research, wasn't sure which crappy proc was in the ipad 2, but as it appears it is a crappy dual core A4 running @ 1ghz(or really, a A5) manufactured at 45nm
conpared to the Tegra 2, which is also duo core, same architecture, has a gpu embedded in it and is manufactured in 40nm, meaning more transistors=more performance

Dude this video makes no sense, the ipad 2 can also mirror out, on 1080p hdmi. He didn't even show infinity blade or real racing 2 hd on the ipad 2, it puts ALL these games to shame.
