  • What happened??

  • Trust me when I say it's difficult to learn your horse has Navicular issues and unfortunately, it's common in Paints and Quarter Horses. But I'm glad you've made him comfortable and are doing everything you can for him. The good news is, it IS fairly easily managed, and is by no means life threatening. Love your videos of you and Duncan, and again I'm sorry you guys have to go through this :(

  • oh my god youre horse is soooo beautiful.ich love western horses so much ♥greets from germany

  • Poor Duncan is He better it's not good seeing a pretty boy like him out lame.... Poor guy!

  • I love duncan and thumps u to you fr.not.abandoning him :)

  • My heart goes out to you and Duncan, you have been through so much with him and Clue! I know how much he means to you! You know how much he will always mean to me as well and I just wanted to let you know that if you ever decide it best to "retire" him somewhere, he could retire with me at Cate's. We now do low level dressage and of course trail riding, so he would have quite an easy life here. I know you will do what is best for him. Just wanted to give you that option. Best of luck. -S

  • I wish you and Duncan the best of luck. I watched your vids when Duncan was jumping regularly and always thought he was the most talented, gorgeous horse I'd seen on youtube. He's lucky to have such a great mom!

  • How is Duncan doing with the new shoes, has it seemed to help. I've been leasing a horse that has navicular, and i am falling in love with her, want to buy her, but i'm not sure what avenues to take to easy the pressure. we've done alot of flat work which has helped over the past few months, and shes more sound now, but not 100%. basicly just want your input on how Duncan's shoes are working for him.

  • @lauren17xo They're working out very well for him, he's moving out beautifully at the walk, trot, and canter. I'm swamped with work, so I haven't had an opportunity to make any kind of videos recently. He is comfortable, which is what really matters; additionally, he is able to work and enjoys the exercise.

  • This horse is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a real sucker for a nice rich buckskin, horses with blue eyes, and CHROME.. You have my respect for planning on keeping him. There are few things that bother me more than somebody dumping a horse just because it went lame or got ill and can't be worked how they want anymore - navicular is a serious, lifelong thing to deal with and I'm glad you plan on committing to Duncan. He is lucky to have you. Also.. did you say this handsome critter was in NJ?

  • is he going to be all right?

  • @borntoride3814 Hopefully; he is doing well and is comfortable in his Epona shoes.

  • where are you located??? I might be interested in leasing him, but it depends on the price and where you are. Also, does he have a weight limit?

  • @Quicksand610 I will PM you.

  • Who's your farrier?

  • @BackintheSaddle2010 Daisy Bicking of Daisy Haven Farm

  • he is a beautiful horse, hope he can make a good recovery and thankyou for sticking with him when he needs you, you are a great person

  • whats wrong qith him??

  • @ArchieTheStallion He has navicular, but fortunately he is doing well and it seems to be managed in Epona shoes.

  • omg!my horse has the same the same thing.its been almost a year and we havent riden her hoplefully we can ride her soon.i no how you feel!feel better duncan!

  • Get better Duncan! <33

  • I wish all the best for you Duncan and Clue! :)

  • I hope that Dunc continues to improve and that you can eventually find someone to lease him and help alleviate some of the financial burden! I can't imagine paying for Epona shoes on TWO horses - yikes!

  • @RideAnIrishHorse Yeah...that would be why I'm looking to lease him. :-/ He would make a pretty awesome dressage or pleasure prospect...I'm hoping to ride him in a dressage clinic at our barn at the end of this month to better gauge the possibilities...

  • Its great that he is doing well with the shoes and he is showing improvement but i am sad to see he is going to be leased. Will it be a full loan meaning you wont rride or handle him at all or only a half lease so you still get to work him to.???? Anyways i have to say in my opinion the new rule at your barn is completly insulting to all owners paying a huge sum in rent as it is i would sugest leaving but obviously i dont know the whole story.

  • @HondaThoru The first time I wrote my comment, it didn't go through. I'm looking for a full loan, but at our barn, so I can keep an eye on things and defray the hefty costs I'll be looking at. It isn't just our barn--the whole state of NJ, insurance company-wise, is cracking down on boarding stables and their policies about jumping outside of a lesson environment. Unfortunately, for people like me who can't afford constant lessons, that makes things tricky.

  • @dragonfly1030 Well if its for insurance reasons its actually worse in theory as people wont train enough at home causing injuries at shows that could have been avoided if they had the chance to jump regularly. Anyways its nice youll still be able to see him and he will remain in your name but you know ive always loved dunc even when you were still trying him out so itll be sad to see. Still if it means you can remain active with clue sometimes we have to make sacrifices good luck iether way.

  • @HondaThoru If it was just our barn, that'd be another story entirely! I'm hoping that if Duncan gets leased, I can afford more lessons. I don't think it'd be fair to show her in jumper classes if we're seldom ever practicing jumping at home...so yeah. Kind of a catch-22 for the time being...

  • I'm so glad he's getting better :)

  • Duncan is so handsome!:) expecially in his coat:D

  • I know what a hard decision this had to be for you. I, too, wish I was closer as I would love to be able to walk and brush him. Since I am benched for the next seven or more months myself. Oddly enough, I can recognize Daisy UPSIDE down!

  • You're so dedicated and loving towards your horses. They truly must appreciate you! I hope Duncan feels better soon.

  • He is SOOO gorgeous he looks a lot like a stallion named CW River Of Gold!

  • @turnnburnmelody I looked him up and found his Facebook page--yeah, they have quite similar markings! I like that River of Gold has two blue eyes and some white leg markings. Nice stud horse!

  • ugh...i wished i lived closer! i'd love to lease duncan in a snap ♥ he's so lucky to have such a good mommy like you to make sure he's so safe and happy. :)

  • duncan is sooo handsome! :D

  • you are truley amazing not to just try to sit there and sell the problem off to someone else.

  • how did I miss this video? anywho, he looks fantastic! hope he gets better :)

  • He's gorgeous! My horse had a similar problem, but she's getting so much better than before. :) Glad yours is doing much better too!

  • Technology is so cool today. I think it's so awesome that they could narrow it down so well and find it and right away solve the problem and you can ride him a little bit now :) he is sooo cute

  • aw Im so glad hes ok :) he really is a stunning horse :)

  • Im so happy youre keeping him! If I was anywhere near where you lived, Id try him out for lease in a heartbeat Hes gorgeous!

  • This is great! :)

  • So happy to hear he is doing well! And I think your making a good choice to lease him because you can still see him! I know it has to be tough though! The expenses of owning a horse is what's holding me back from getting one for now! Your so lucky to have two!

  • I wish I lived in the area so I could lease him, lol. Glad to see that he is getting better!

  • This is wonderful news <3 The song and the first clips were a little heartbreaking, and I'm glad you had included what was going on in the description box, or I would have assumed that it was not going well. I'm glad those shoes are helping, and I know what its like to have to lease your horse just in order to be able to keep him. Keep us updated, we love you and your horses and hope the best for them!

  • good luck with everything. duncan's lucky to have such a great owner!

  • Its so good to see him doing better, he is so lucky to have you as his owner :)

  • He looks so much better! I'm so glad to see and hear that he is going well. It took me a good 4 months before I was able to find something that worked for my mare! Looking forward to the next update :D

  • He looks like such a lovely horse, and he has such a beautiful face.

Hope he get's better soon. :)

  • Poor little yellow pony. Im glad to see hes doing well and his spirits are high (: He has an amazing home and support system. My friends horse has navicular and is still being ridden at 20. He has his bad days, but hes still happy and comfortable. I know the same can be said for Duncan when hes a little yellow old man <3

  • he was looking MUCH better with those shoes on, still some stiffness but no where NEAR as much as when he was being assessed. And I am so disappointed you are in the USA...I wanted to lease the big yellow ham that is now a marshmallow :P Pleased to see he's getting much better too :)

  • naw poor Duncan <3 I've always loved this big guy! I wish I lived in the US - I'd lease him in a heartbeat :) he's such a wonderful fellow I'm sure you'll have a massive lineup of people wanting to take him on lease. so glad to hear he's doing better now. Those shoes are sure interesting btw!

  • Such a beautiful animal.. He's looking much better, but I still hope he gets well soon!

And I wish we lived in the same area.. I would jump at a chance to lease Duncan.

  • Duncan is so beautiful, I hope he gets better soon <3

  • duncan is so lucky to have you as his mum - good to see hes improving... wow I bet thats a hard choice
