In this scenario, Thunderbird 2 would've been dispatched with a heavy lift insert (16 CO2 fire extinguishers) put into the cargo bay to help it lift that ship and get it back to deep water.

actually, thunderbird 5 is the one which monitors telecommunications from space. thunderbird 3 is only used for rescues in space, spending the rest of the time on Earth. Still, great video!

But in the episode Ricochet, you can see Thunderbird 3 hovering over it's landing spot, so it must have some kind of rocket-system to make it do that. IMO, if incase something like a giant ship being beached on shore and the whole thing must be saved, clearly Thunderbird 2 couldn't lift the whole thing by itself. That's why you see all three Thunderbirds lifting the ship.
