Can someone tell me what I did wrong? When I first colored my hair I bought black by Raw and i have Dirty Bloude hair and I was told that i didnt need bleach so I didnt get it and when I dyes my hair It turned Green:( And I dont understand why? So like i said can someone tell me what I did wrong please?

lol, you should be decolourizing with a 20 volume developer. Shampoo after rinsing, if you condition, it will act as a filler in the hairs cuticle. So the colour will not deposit into the cortex. Preavana Vivids have AMAZING colours. Its usually a professional use product unless bought some places online. Try Redkens color extende, all soft, or extreme to strangthen hair after lightening.

And if your hair is dry. I actually recommend conditioning your hair alot. It restores it and makes it super soft and healthy. to keep mine from looking icky and stuff after I bleach and dye, I use Aussies deep conditioner and instead of leaving it in for 3 minutes I leave it in for an hour or sometimes over night. It restores your hair completely. And I know how your worried that washing it ruins the color but Aussie doesn't. (:

Dare to be different! For a while, Manic Panic worked fantastic for me. But I discovered Jerome Russell's Punky Color and after that, Manic Panic just didn't compare. It has more conditioners to protect your hair after bleaching. The colors remain vibrant even while fading and last between 5-40 washes.

I don't quite identify as Gothic (though some of my friends are and I enjoy several elements of the subculture), but rather as a stylish metalhead, and these tips are extremely useful for folks like me too.  For eyeliner, I like L'Oreal Infallible 16-hour pencil liner. It smudges if you want it to, but stays put if you don't. And Maybelline's Colossal mascara.

@teardropcollector I think fangs certainly can fit very well into the Goth aesthetic. They're probably at least a little bit "Goth" since not many other subcultures seem to revere the idea of the vampire nearly as much.

I go to hairdressing school, and I've learned that the lower the volume bleach, the better. Cause even though it's slower and weaker (better for your hair), it doesn't give you that icky yellow hair that 30 volume gives you. And never use 40!! You can risk loosing hair if you get it on your scalp.

Hell yeah, MAC make-up rules! Only thing I use.

Guys dont hate on her for the showering crap, people who color their hair can't wash it every day, it washes out the color.

Also washing your hair with cold water can help keep the color in. It sucks if you can't stand cold, but it will keep the color much longer.

This is one of the things I envy the American people - since it is such a large country, there are much more products to choose from. Like, in Denmark there may be only two or three quality mineral makeup brands.

And everything is cheaper in the US, too! Seriously, a lot cheaper than here.

Aw gosh, if I ever got to the US on a holiday, I would empty the nearest beauty supply store.

@BatcaveDilemma I'm a cosmetologist (in training) and am specializing in color... so I can say with certainty that 40 is quicker, but 30 is safer and less damaging :) so either is fine, it's all based on preference :[|]

@BatcaveDilemma Me either. 40 is ridiculously strong, and if you have fair hair or sensitive skin it's a big no no. That stuff burns and turns so quickly you don't have much leave way for the tone. It fries the hair too. 30 is perfect, 20 if you just need a booster lightener.

Male here. I know the feeling - the trick is to not give a fuck about the gender stereotypes you've been taught and just do ... whatever. The goth world is *very* open-minded, even if everyone else around you isn't. I know going out and buying make up for yourself as a dude might be difficult to do - something I myself know quite well but like anything else, you just gotta do it until you don't feel awkward anymore. It also helps TREMENDOUSLY if you *want* this

Not to be an ass, but make up CAN BE for everybody. Therefore Natalie's videos can be useful to you because applying make up and such WELL is useful to to anyone who wants to wear make up. That being said, I've contemplated running a YouTube channel where I give the guys tips on goth style for a while now - but I'd need to reach a certain *personal* standard before I ever did so.
