The HP Envy, in most cases, can cost a lot more than a MacBook Pro. I like the Beats by Dr. Dre on the HP Envy but still, the HP Envy is not as good as a MacBooK Pro...but that's my opinion.

It has an accelerometer built in that detects motion, so when it goes in free fall or is moved suddenly, it parks the drive heads to reduce the chance of data corruption during read/writes and stuff. Pretty smart tech, they invented it. I think it's in most laptops now, though I'm not entirely sure (they were also the first to use a backlit keyboard on a laptop, think they invented it actually).

Hard drivers are sensitive and if you shake or move them hard them can make the Accuator Arm to get stuck or to break or even make the Head to screw the magnetic disk up. This will make your HD to be useless and you'll lost all your data. And believe, apple branded HDs aren't cheap at all....

@sizzelinali that's pretty silly, I have been using my Macbook for 2 years now and its fantastic. No waiting! And mine is just as fast as the ones today, 2.4ghz. My MacBook is on 24 hrs a day since I bought it and it works just like new.
Dont get caught up in Apple advertising, they are always upgrading and trying to get people to buy more than neccessary. Look at the hardware you need, look at the software you get...thats all that is important.

@sizzelinali No. I use my Macbook all day and night without problems. In the morning im checking emails and reading news, during the day I use it for work running dozens of programs. In the evenings and weekends I hook it up to my HDTV and watch movies, play music, make YouTube videos and download big files. I turn it off maybe once a week just to freshen it up a little. Since I made this video clip it has been on almost non stop!

I have used and even built PCs since the early 90's and I can tell you that with todays Macs and their Intel chipset, Macs are far superior to any PC in performance. I use a USB cable to connect the camera directly to the macbook. But I also have a printer on the network with a card reader that I can access wirelessly from my macbook.
JackHasCookies- I have a Black MacBook and mine hasn't chipped, but part of the keyboard did a little and the inside is black as well(I got the keyboard fixed so its good). I don't think apple would just paint a white MacBook to make it black.
If you are buying a 'MacBook' not a MacBook Pro then you can only get the colour white. Apple stopped manufacturing black MacBooks. But if you were able to buy one go with white because the black coating chips and leaves white marks!

power doesn't so much reside in the RAM as it does in the CPU. And besides 2 gigs of RAM should suffice unless you are doing heavy video editing and what not
well yeah this laptop gets dirty as soon as you use it everyday. But its not hard to clean it. You can use wet toilet paper or a magic eraser but if you use it you should get a tutorial cause you have to be very careful with the magic eraser

if you are a p.c. user you have to pay for one program and it is called boot camp and that will allow you to run windows on a mac computer but anyway most files that you download will be able to be read on a mac

So there are many types of operating systems (basically the 'species' of computers). The two major ones today are Windows (Microsoft) and Mac (Apple). They both computers, but they are setup in different ways. In this video, it is a Mac computer. The operating system (the way it is run) is by Apple. The screen (interface) looks entirely different than the one you most likely have (Windows).

I use a USB cable to connect the camera directly to the macbook. But I also have a printer on the network with a card reader that I can access wirelessly from my macbook.

JackHasCookies- I have a Black MacBook and mine hasn't chipped, but part of the keyboard did a little and the inside is black as well(I got the keyboard fixed so its good). I don't think apple would just paint a white MacBook to make it black.

If you are buying a 'MacBook' not a MacBook Pro then you can only get the colour white. Apple stopped manufacturing black MacBooks. But if you were able to buy one go with white because the black coating chips and leaves white marks!

power doesn't so much reside in the RAM as it does in the CPU. And besides 2 gigs of RAM should suffice unless you are doing heavy video editing and what not

well yeah this laptop gets dirty as soon as you use it everyday. But its not hard to clean it. You can use wet toilet paper or a magic eraser but if you use it you should get a tutorial cause you have to be very careful with the magic eraser

It was a very easy switch to Mac from PC. You need a mini DVI adapter to hook up your TV.
