I noticed the game handed over both dome and helix fossils by default, but upon reaching Cinnabar, the NPC would only acknowledge my carrying the helix fossil.

Don't suppose there's any way around that?

@xysasusakuyx Download the Moemon Starter kit. It has VBA-L 1.7.3 which works better with pokemon for some reason. Also download the 1.6.0 patch. Or if you wait a day or two (weekend at the latest), I'll have the 1.6.1 patch out.

@TGHTNW Hard patch the rom (use IPSXP or LunarIPS) and open the rom in advancemap. You can edit the map there. Or you can wait until I run out of excuses and start working on this again, I plan on creating a story way to get to those islands, but I haven't come up with one yet.

open up the emulator by itself, and from inside it open the leafgreen rom. Make sure my patch and the clean rom are in the same folder and you have automatic ips patching on. That should make it work. Remember, .ips is not a rom, it's a patch.

Unfortunately no. The indeces used in the roms are different. Plus I would need a very thorough understanding of the changes in the Rozen Maiden patch if I wanted to reverse engineer it like I did the with the sprites, but I haven't played it because I don't understand moon rune.

no, every single pokemon has been changed to a moemon. I didn't add moemon in addition to pokemon; I replaced the pokemon with moemon.

just download the latest (1.5.2), and then download an ips patching utility like IPSXP or LunarIPS and run that program. when it asks you to select a source file, select the Leaf Green rom, when it asks for a patch select the patch you downloaded, then click apply patch. Then just open the file normally and voila.

trading is completely possible with emulators. VBA Link 1.7.3 works great. However, for convenience all trade evolutions are changed to level evolutions.

Just find an ips patcher, I recommend IPSXP, and use it to apply the ips patch to a US leaf green rom, then just open the patched rom as you would a normal rom.

You can catch them and use them, but they won't show up in the pokedex until you get the national dex.

Those of you having trouble playing it, here's a neat little trick :P Download a Pokemon LeafGreen rom from somewhere, and the IPS file. Name them both the same thing (I.e., Moemon.gba and Moemon.ips), and put them in the same folder, then open the .gba file with VisualBoy Advance. It'll do the patching for you!

I'm assuming you're using a mac, find an IPS patcher that is compatible with mac, apply the ips patch to a clean Leaf Green rom, and play it as you would a normal commercial rom. I can't really go into more details because I've never used Boycott advance.

IPS files are patch files. You need a clean US Leaf Green rom and a patching utility. I recommend using IPSXP. Click select file to patch (and pick the rom) then click ips patch to use (and select my ips patch) and then press apply patch. Then just play the rom normally.

I think this just be a faulty download on my part, but my version freezes when I try to enter any route past Viridian, and none of the doors open once I actually reach the city. Plus loads is still in Japanese x3 Would downloading yours be a good option, or should I just find a walk-thru-walls cheat?

What you have is an ancient translation patch applied over the Japanese moemon game. I don't know if a walk through walls cheat would even be able to help you in your situation. You should download a clean US Leaf Green rom, and one of my patches. Instead of trying to translate the Japanese moemon game, my patch moetizes the US version of the game.
