  • Oh god, I'm so terrible at this game but why do I love it so much

  • I can't wait for the PC version to be released. This game is incredible.

  • A statue so horrible that you can barely look upon it. You can fell cold and malice irradiating from it. It is the absolute incarnation of death, death made manifest in a sculpture. A sculpture as black and cold as death itself. You are stunned, it was not there before... or was it? No it couldent have been there before, it was not this cold before... Cold, it is very cold freezing. But how can that be? The sun is still shining... You fix your gaze on the staues face. Then you notice its eyes...

  • You are finaly at the end of the long corridor. Before you there is a final circular room. You go forth and you notice that it si larger than the other two rooms. Strangly there is no vegetation here... There is four pits in the anchient floor. Each of them, a black, bottomless abyss. You go near one and you can smell a horrible stench rising from the darkness. You stager backwards, shocked by the horrible smell of rot and deciease. Then you turn your head, and you see something. A statue...

  • You reach the end of the long corridor. There is another circular room, but insted of an obelisk covered in arcane runes, there are two statues. You walk into the centre of the room and look at them. One of them is a man, large, muscular and with a friendly exprecion on his face. The other is a woman, she has the same expretion on her face. A friendly smile. You notice that both of the statues have green gemstones for eyes. You walk past them. The corridor continues a little further.

  • You retract your hand and take a few steps back. You realice that if you could read the runes they would have an incredible story to tell you. Who had made the obelisk and the long corridor, why they where no more and what kind of people they had been. You look around you, to see that the walls of the circular room are covvered with the same runes as the obelisk. You walk around the obelisk to discover that the long corridor goes on. You touch the obelisk a final time. Then you continue onward.

  • The closer you come the more you realice that its surface is not smooth. It is covered by something. As you near it further you se that the entire obelisk is covered with runes of witch you have never seen before. Each of the small runes are perfectly cut out. Cut out by hands of a long dead people. You reach out and touch it. The felling of the runes against your hand. You look up to the top of the obelisk. It seems so incredibly old, so old. As if it was made when the world was created.

  • Imagine a hallway. A very long hallway. There is no celling, when you look up, you can se the trees. And further up you can se the suns light shining through the treetops. The floor is cracked and ruined, in the cracks plants are growing, some big some small. Some grow on the anchient walls. You walk through it, you are filled with peace, and after a long time you reach a circular room. In the centre of the circular room there is an obelisk. Anchient as the rest of the corridor. You aproach it.

  • Such a beautiful piece

  • I'm hearing this right now. I pre-ordered the game the first day it was available for pre-order, picked it up first day it came out, and beat it now. That was around the time shit happened in my life and stress and depression hit me like a truck for the next couple of months. For the past month that fog has been lifting, and to me finally beating this game represents me sort of throwing off those past hardships, overcoming those obstacles and striving onwards, as cliche as it all sounds.

  • AND IRON FUCKING TARKUS LOOKING TO FUCK SHIT UP

  • This song is amazing. I love Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. Dint get me wrong, I also love Skyrim a lot. But to be completley honest, I prefer Dark Souls.

  • I listen to this when I'm sad.

  • Demon's and Dark are the best games ive played this gen hands down!!!!!!!

    i want demon's souls 2 using every bit of a 50 gb bluray for ps3 or ps4

make it happen sony and from!

  • A god-made caretaker, forced to watch his world crumble one ash at a time.

A witch's mistake, which cost her what was most dear to her and the world.

A dragon made duke, ceaslessly searching for the answer he knows is false.

Four men drawn into shadow, twisted by their own devotion to their kind.

Four blacksmiths, dutifully hiding behind their craft to shield their pride.

One Chosen Undead, Come to save our world from evil.

    -Dark Souls History Tome

    Verse 1-6

  • @robloxfan459 omg.... :( game is so sad but love it

  • were does this song comes out?

  • @KiRa1863 endgame credits

  • @scorptatious And Four Goddamn Kings. Who don't give a fuck about fairness.

  • @Dconquist

LOL, I know what you mean. They were an absolute nightmare on New Game plus. :/

  • this song is sad tune...makes me wish Dark Souls was real

  • gonna buy jp ps3 for my birthday

  • Comment removed

  • gay!! too scary

  • Can you please tell me what type of music is this? thank you .

  • @GAMEOVER772 I'm mildly sure the song is by Emi Evans who is half of the duo called Freesscape. Their genre, according to iTunes, is supposedly electronic.

  • I'm extremely upset. Everytime I pop Dark Soul's in le xbox, it works. Progresivley, it decided to not work as much. With each use it would take more tries to get it to work. Now, I cant even play my darksouls becuase my xbox is a k-mart ass xbox ;-; I was on Ornestein and Smough to...

  • @ImaBearEtc Have you tried cleaning your disc?

Stop using le, it makes you look like a retard btw.

  • WTF is going on???? This songs give me goose-flesh of another world. Every single time. Love this song, it's so beautiful. Lordran finally got peace in their world.

  • One of the greatest game i've ever played in my life!

  • Final Fantasy series could learn something from Dark Souls on how to make a modern gaming soundtrack, especially from this track and Gwyn's. Has anyone heard FFXIII-2 OST? Disgraceful. It's 75% Jpop. SquareEnix, pay attention to From Soft. They are doing it right.

  • Love this song and love this game. It's amazing how a game can get you brainwashed. The only thing you're thinking and dreaming of is this game. How shall I beat the next boss? It's just awesome.

  • A fallen king, determined to keep the fire alive.

A witch, who could only watch as her family succumbs to her mother's mistakes.

A duke, who went insane attempting to find the one thing that he lacked as a dragon.

A god turned mortal, searching for his own sun.

A proud knight, looking to prove himself.

And a chosen undead. Who's ultimate decision will determine the fate of the land.

    Welcome to Dark Souls.

  • @scorptatious that was deep bro

  • @ArguingDiagram

    Thanks. :)

  • @scorptatious You forgot death. Lots and lots of death.

  • @hyperblast81

    Too true. Too true. XD

  • @scorptatious This doesn't even scratch the surface of the lore in Dark Souls. The game truly is fantastic, and the lore is especially great. It requires you to find it and search for it, but man it is remarkably good.

  • @scorptatious You forgot

A Dead lord, a lonely being and the cause of so much death and suffering

4 lost Kings which will never escape the dark they brought themselves into.

  • The Elder Messiah VI: Darkened Souls.

    Make it happen.

  • i heard this song yesterday....i wasn't ready to hear it.....sooooo wasn't ready :(. its kinda depressing when all of the hell you go through, all the cheap deaths, all the dick invaders in this game comes to an end.

  • at the end of the game, when this played, i almost felt like crying. Best game i've ever played

  • why do people compare this to skyrim???? their both totally different games. both unique and amazing in their own way

  • @colindryburgh how is Skyrim "Unique"?

it's not even close to that.

  • @WillyWallace100 i take it your one of those people that compare eveything then? lol...... ps i like your username

  • @colindryburgh no i compare to absolutely everything Bethesda has ever done(which is fare, they have to learn), and when i do i can see that it is not unique.

  • @WillyWallace100

Skyrim is a truely amazing RPG the elder scrolls in general are. so GTFO, don't get me wrong dark souls is a great game also.

  • Does this play in any area of the game?

  • @obscurethought It's the credits song

  • @obscurethought it will play when you defeat the game :=)

  • This song haunts me... it stirs the murky waters inside my mind, and suddenly I find myself alone. I am walking through the woods, the sounds of small creatures scurry around. I set my sword on my shoulder, with my shield in the other hand. My boots clank as I slowly walk across the bridge. The sun is shining overhead, I know it... but I can not see it. I scale the solemn tower, step by step. I open the door at the top. I face my enemy, with sword already drawn. I love this song!!!

  • Why aren't you guys talking about the music!?

  • @Kbblets97 they came for the music....saw a little arguement...joined in....and well they are idiots cause all id want to talk about on this vid is how the music is amazing :'3

  • In my opinion. This is an RPG. RPGs are based around you playing a role as a character, this requires immersion. This succeeds in this by having your actions affect outcomes, creating the illusion of other characters having adventures around you, having well developed characters, having a free world to explore in whatever order youd like (with consequences), making combat and equipment effectiveness feel real.

  • That Knight of Astora must have journeyed far and with such a high blessing...how he came to the Asylum in such a desparate manner seeking you is a question I ponder: What battle ensued? Who could have marred him in such a way? What was his struggle beforehand? Is he truly only a nameless knight, or was he able to accomplish a mighty amount in his journey? I always wonder if somehow he accomplished something that unknowlingly saved our lives or made our goals surmountable. Reste, cher ami...

  • A Masterpiece and will be forever in my heart!

  • i love this game sun bros death shall be AVENGED!!!

  • @30SECONDSREMAINING you can save sunbro, give 30 humanity to the daughter of chaos to open the shortcut from demon's ruins to lost izalith

  • @CanadaOpinionsCount what do you get if he is saved (he is one of my favorite chars i just haven't really looked at a wiki )

  • @CanadaOpinionsCount Sunbro must be saved. Sunbro is the greatest of all bros.

  • Best game of all time. On my 3rd playthrough to complete the trophy collection. It's just something about the game that hits me in the heart. The world, the enemies, the bosses, the music, the sound effects. Hearing the guillotine pendulums in Sen's Fortress still sends a chill through my spine. I have played Skyrim enough to know that it does not deserve GOTY from so many publications. Maybe if the editors actually made it through the game instead of bitching out to the Capra Demon... LOL

  • "This is the way the world ends

Not with a bang but a whimper."

  • It's played in the behind the scene video.

  • what is skyrim?

  • @NoZence the newest elder scrolls game, but it epic fails in comparison to Dark souls.

  • @NoZence

A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF GLITCHES!

  • Playing through this game the first time granted me a feeling of satisfaction from completing it that I rarely have felt in this life. No words can really explain it, but this song comes as close as it gets to being able to do so.

  • When I defeated Gwyn, I felt justified that i won. It was by no means easy. But that is the true intricacy of Dark Souls. And then the credits rolled. And this song played. And the only thing I could think was to start a new game. Then I got new game +. This is the best game to come out since playstation 1 was released. It trumps Castlevania: SotN and Silent Hill 2. The ones who went hollow are the ones who quit before hearing this song in game. GOTY 20111.

  • @666Rich415 Perfectly said. Having not played it myself yet, but watching the videos, this game feels so incredibly beautiful, hard, challenging, and everything at the same time. Hearing this song already gives me shivers, how bad will it be when I defeat Gwyn?

Got the game today in the post, and am going to play this weekend. My buddie, who doesn't even have an X360/PS3, is coming too, because I stoked him about this game. 'ts gonna be a good weekend!

  • @RudeyCapone You made the right choice buying it. I have been trying to convince my friend to buy it, but after seeing me play it, I guess he got kind of intimidated lol. Anyone who is a fan of great games, or great entertainment in general would do themselves a huge favor by picking up Dark Souls. Now if only they would release some DLC :/

  • @666Rich415 Read a few days ago that DLC has been rumored as Dark Forest, hopefully that will come out as they say, in the 1st quarter! You really should let your friend make his own game and make him play, I did with mine too and he loved it! Pumped about 4 hours into it now, loving it! Died about 6 times or a bit more, I'm just watching the enemies and I'm totally fine. It's a shame people get scared, it isn't that hard as it looks, just 100% fair, and unforgiving if you go sloppy.

  • After finally beating Dark Souls, you would think you would feel happy, or accomplished. But rather, you feel sad. You feel sad that you will never be able to experience your first time playing Dark Souls again. All the terrifying places and bosses; all the frustration; all the trial and error; and all of the beauty. The game sucks you into this dark place that you grow to love, but after the end, you realize there is nothing else in that dark place. You are more alone than before in dark souls.

  • @neoncade Funny that i wrote the exact same Feeling with other words earlier :D ... 100% true

  • This...This Is....Just Beautiful ;~~; I Actually Started Crying once I Heard This Voice After The Ending

And Even Now As I Am Typing This Comment Know That I Am Using This To Sleep And It Helps Me Grasp What An Angel Sounds Like Because This Is Beautiful Those Who HAte This Comment Then Hate but Know This Your Only Making Less Of Yourself And Those Who Like This Comment I Thank You For Not Having....A Dark Soul.......

  • That's why you were asking why the song played during the game... You would know it if you heard it.

  • You can't skip the credits...

  • @666Rich415 yes you can

  • ooohh wait it played in the credits right? idr cause i always skip credits

  • when did this even play.

    its sick though

  • I got the Platina trophy 100% game play. Im sad its over but i can never stop playing this game. This is the best game in 10-15 years i think. This is soo Epic i will keep on playing forever and ever!

  • @justinxaz Dark Souls > skyrim

  • @RoughRyderKid @justinxaz Dark Souls ≈ Skyrim

  • @RoughRyderKid in certain ways it really is a lot better.

i liked demons souls to a certain extent but dark souls kind of blew my fucking mind.

hands down the best boss battles in any game i have ever played

  • @RoughRyderKid Dark Souls > every game since Demon's tbh.

  • @RoughRyderKid Nope, even though I love both of them, I prefer Skyrim. The feeling of adventure in Skyrim was so huge. Even though I loved the adrenaline in the boss fights. But it's an opinion. The flaws in the Dark Souls was (even though it was awesome for the most part) the combat. If you were knocked out you didn't have time to rise up, and would just get yourself killed, otherwise both are great, and Dark Souls isn't so hard when you get the hang of it. :D

  • @DarkSoulsOST fuck off

  • @DarkSoulsOST I think they're kind of 2 different games. Dark Souls is more like The Legend of Zelda. Instead of puzzles though you get harder enemies/bosses

  • @DarkSoulsOST The combat in dark souls is why its better then skyrim.

  • @RoughRyderKid HEY!...Both are great games, and shouldnt be compared. Also great music

  • @RoughRyderKid I have well over 300 hours in dark souls and around 130 in skyrim, The games are both glorious, and I don't feel you can claim one other the other, especially since they are not really the same kind of game. It's like trying to claim Seiken Densetsu 3 was a better than than Super Metroid.

  • @RoughRyderKid There completely different games, I wouldn't compare them. I personally couldn't pick up skyrim, but milions of other people would beg to differ.

  • one word...EPIC !!

  • praise emi evans

  • i beated this game fiinally

  • im almost half way beating the game

  • 80% of dark souls' buyers will never hear this song in game.

  • imminent relief

  • For 6:38 minutes the world felt peaceful...

  • How odd i was just listening to the Nier soundtrack with Emi Evans, i go look to check who sang the ending to Dark Souls and it was her!!!

  • @Zombiciidal nier made me wanna kill myself, that poor boy dies after being turned into a monster /wrists...

"I want to see you again, i want to see all of you again, just one last... time"

(me crying hysterically like a bitch)

  • @Zombiciidal REALLY?? OMG, I'm so going to buy this game now!

  • @tecaltabiano how you dare , to make fun about dark souls

  • @fotljubei I'm not making fun. I'm being honest. Emi Evans sings the ending theme song? That's the last piece of motivation I needed to buy this.

  • @tecaltabiano oh this sounds nice , u will love this game , if you play it with passion , dont get demotivated , if you die =). GL AND HF PRAISE THE SUN

  • there is a reason this song has no name...

if it did it the name would become as amazing as chuck norris...even more so....

  • Best damn game of 2011

  • @Daggertail100 Definitely.

  • I regret not buying this game.

  • If someone say to you that this game is too hard... there is one explanation... he was to weak to play this game :)

  • @KojoBojo but i have to say that this game has no sense at all. i mean: is considered an rpg... why? you can't interact with anyone, everyone in the map wants to kill you and the level does not count anything for the battle... there are not city where you can buy items and the few pg that you encounter tell you few words... please... skyrim at max difficulty is much better: a good challenge.

  • @TheEcnephias Its preference to do with which you like and yes it does make sense and is well within the RPG terminology. RPG stands for role playing game your role in this game is to play as the chosen undead who will traverse the world and choose to reignite the flame to remove the curse of the undead. None of your other points are valid as to why it shouldn't be considered an RPG lol just your griping about something being different and not run of the mill. And I loved both DS and Skyrim :)

  • @LOLOLOLOLx999999 rpg is the witcher, with real role playing style. here i see a platform survivor (if this definition is correct)... but don't misunderstand me, i like this game, but it is not an rpg. tell me how can you role? the only difference is:

1: speak with thic character and this thing will happen.

2: don't talk with this c. and this thing won't happen.

in the sen's fortress you can meet a knight with the onion helmet: you "help" him, but he does not move a finger... this is not rpg.

  • @TheEcnephias Dark Souls is an Action Adventure RPG, it all comes down to how you Roleplay, and if you Roleplay.

  • @kdreadnought i am saying tha the role playing here is null. you can't chat, speak and take decision with other characters. so it is not an rpg. i reapeat: the witcher is an RPG. even TES is not a real rpg since every decision you make take you at the same ending. dragon age was a nice RPG, baldur's gate was. but not dark souls... it is still a nice game but if someone tells me that this is an RPG i think that this person does not know what an RPG is...

  • @TheEcnephias The word RPG has been blurred throughout the years, and, quite honestly, i wouldn't be surprised if 80% of gamers don't know the correct use of the Acronym RPG, If it has a levelup system, and magic, it's an RPG.

Dark Souls, in todays standards, is an RPG, but, in all honesty, it should be some warped Action/Adventure game. And yes, I am agreeing with you, I don't even remember what i wrote, and I can't be stuffed studying it, but yes, I do agree with you.

  • @kdreadnought Zelda is an RPG,actually most action/adventure games are, RPG stands for role playing game.

  • @Icu282 I am well aware RPG stands for Role Playing Game... If you read what I said, you would know that most games are called RPGs, but have near to no actually Roleplaying in them, and, like i said, any modern game nowadays with a Levelup system and magic of any kind is instantly labled an RPG, even though they might not have any roleplay choices.

    I bid you good day.

  • @kdreadnought Role Playing Game.

Roleplaying Games can come into two seperate generas: Action and Turnbased.

Action is a more hybrid style created by taking RPG staples (Health Bar, Levels, Etc.) and placing them into an action game.

Turnbased is the traditional style, in which players take turns to see who can outlast the other in a battle of strength and resilience.

Yes, there are still a few who know the difference, thank you:)

  • Brings me back to the moment where i just sat stunned before my screen with my controller in my hands being totally overwhelmed of this fitting masterpiece which told me that one of the most atmospheric and epic games i ve ever played just ended. It wasn t sad ...i was just thankful that games like this exist which are able to soak u in so deep that u really thought u were on your own adventure in a world far away. This game was like holiday from Earth.

  • @Chef8898 Your comment makes me even more excited for when I get the game this week. It totally describes how I already feel when I watch the videos of this game, death gives satisfaction, dedication is needed, the game soaks you in. A product that does what it's designed for. Not many games do that nowadays and most games feel rushed.

From the comments, this game is a masterpiece. Let's get suck into this world they call Dark Souls.

  • @RudeyCapone

    amen

  • @RudeyCapone you should totally get it man, I didn't buy it for the longest time because of all the reviews describing it to be too hard, and now I regret why didn't I buy it the first day itself. I started playing about a month ago and have not removed the disk from the console since then (and I have more than 200 games for the 360 and ps3 combined). I completed it once and now I am on NG+ 75 percent complete.

  • A word of caution though, if you have other more important duties/priorities don't play this game, it will suck you in and your social life will get severely affected.

  • @rifleman542 Yeah I actually bought it last week, but it still hasn't arrived since it was for a charity auction which takes more processing. Namco Bandai actually donated the whole package I bought so now I'm getting it with Dark Souls goodies too. :)

It'll probably arrive coming week so I'm excited to go play!

  • @rifleman542 Oh, and don't worry. Always been a diehard gamer spending way too many hours a week on the pc/console. Sometimes I even get close to a full-time job or more. :P

Know my priorities and can easily put the controller away whenever I get asked something/going out with mates. But if I have nothing to do, then it's usually gaming. And I'll tell you, I have quite a lot of free time. ^^

Same goes for you then I suppose?

  • Praise The Sun!

  • Let strength be granted so the world might be mended,

so the world might be mended.

  • May the flames guide thee...

  • no words...... no words at all.....

  • @SC2rusher just lyrics

  • A Soothing melody for a tired soul..

  • Nameless song for christmas number 1!

  • This song so perfectly instils the feeling of “It’s finaly over...I can rest in peace...”

  • A pyromancer's flame is is is uh a part of his own body. Love that guy

  • One of the best game I ever played , this ost almost make me cry :"(

  • Do this play somewhere in the game?

  • @MrSloopful Yeah when you finish and you can finally relax!

  • @vanillawild I didn't jet finished the game but listend to the OST I got an then heard this song and i just knew it would be the ending song, and then i felt bad, becouse i listened to it before i finished the game :( btw: I'm at Smough & Ornstein right now

  • @KrustelLP I was the same. I heard this before I had finished it too. Smough and Ornstein eh? Two of the hardest bosses I think. You get some really nice armor once you have finished them depending on who you kill first.

  • @vanillawild HA!!! I finally got them!!! Ah... It's such a good feeling, to kill a hard boss (It's 02:45 AM here and im filled up with coffein)

  • Excuse me, I was absorbed in thought.

  • awhhhhh awhhh awhhhhhhhhhh awhh ahhh awhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Jolly Co-Operation!

  • Father.... Ohh Father....

  • "I AM SIEGMEYER OF CATERINA AND YOU SHALL FEEL MY WRATH!"

  • How grossly incandescent

  • And the furtive pygmy, so easily forgotten...

  • Still closed.. still closed! mmmmmm....

  • I am free. Now I can get back to work…

    Keh heh heh heh…

  • "Neither of us wants to see you go hollow..."

  • Hmmp i wish they showed the bosses in the credits like demons souls..

  • Like others says, somebody just stole the mp3 of god! =O

  • I'm sorry Solaire, I couldn't save you! ;_;

  • @Mekiwates it was sad to see him Hollow I know ;'(

  • @Mekiwates :(

  • The name of this song is quite a paradox.

  • awesome song i just beat the game yesterday and i liked this song a lot for some reason idk lol

  • I think I will buy the game and just leave it on the console just to listen to some of those wonderfull musics in which Emi Evans sang...She has a real goddess voice :)

  • This reminds me how every single charakter you encounter meets a tragic end . . . well except for the merchants anyway

  • @Mangiff Oh, my merchants met a very tragic ending... but what you say is very true.

  • the beginning really reminds me of the "bad wolf" theme from doctor who for some reason...

  • i hope we'll see more emi evans in the future! thanks NIER for making her more famous

  • when in the game does this play?

  • @bummer6

    The credits.

  • @bummer6 during the credit when you beat the game
