I go to Oklahoma State University and we sing this but after the very last Oklahooooooma you yell STATE! after it. Now I can't hear this song without putting STATE! at the end of it.

Acting wise he is FAR superior to John Raitt (who could not act at all) and Gordon McRae. McRae always seemed too "musical theatre" whereas Hugh Jackman really brings the realism into the role.

@admiremuscle Jackman is a much better actor than either Raitt or MacRae...but with all due respect to Jackman (he's a magnificent performer), Raitt had the better voice.

jackman tried hard but no comparison to gordon macrae singing this song. macrae really has tremendous vocal control while jackman pales in comparison. search oklahoma musical and click on R&H one, that is macrae singing.

that's the first thing I noticed when i saw him hosting the tonys in 04. I had no idea who he was but I thought "he's a good singer", and "god he has long legs". :)
