when you get to the size thing where you can make that circle smaller and larger to fit round the face. On my preview nothing happens, no circle anywhere? help please??

How do you make the effect fade in?

You can fine tune this effect by applying a composite level envelope by right clicking on the top track (the one with the cookie and blur effect) and choosing the above option. To learn how to use this, see my video: Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10: Video Compositing Tutorial.

Go to video effects tab and choose Gauss blur
