fasterthanyou22 must be a 450 fan boy or something because there is no way stock vs stock a 450 will beat a raptor, yes the 450 has a slightly higher compression ratio which might make it a little snappier and quicker off the line initially but that does not in any way make up for the huge displacement advantage of the raptor especially since the raptor is only 22 pounds heavier .Now handling is where the 450 holds the advantage over the raptor in my opinion especially on tight tracks & trails

lol yeah stock for stock the yfz edges out the raptor 700 even in the straight line. I mean come on, its a 686cc, 9:1 compression, lawn mower cammed engine. WAYYYY more potential for power than a 450 both with stock displacement, but the 450's utilize small amounts of F1 racing technology with a big bore/short stroke design. Combined with 12:1+ compression ratio's and well R&D'ed cam profiles and rotating assemblies make 450's real mean, and a much more effecient engine based on size and weight.

@Danil1911 no, the raptor has more clearance and isn't as wide so it's better for trails, also the 700 with lower compression will outlast the rings on the yfz 450 on like 12-1 compression

The reason they don't use the raptors in the mx races are because raptors are made for reaching there maximum speed not for acceleration, a 1 on 1 , raptor 700R vs yfz 450R , the yfz would win take-off but after 200 meters, bye bye yfz , raptor just pass beside him, also depends allot on both drivers of the machine

@borsyzoli if you going to compare a 2.0 ltr againts a v8, lets take the turbo off..... the 450 is faster on the track, but i neve had one beat my 700 in a straight line drag, the 700 comes out with a factory 5th gear limiter that can be unplugged, its also 100% rider abilities, i take off in second and shift the gears almost as fast as i can, the 700 has so much low end tourque. and for any bigger guys the 700 is alot more comfortable.

I gotta 400 ex too and i think it a a very capable machine to jump. What i learned when i was ur age jumpin the same machine was too start in a neutral postion when u take off maby even a bit forward towards the gas tank and if it starts nosen to the ground lean back and smash the gas. u'll catch on quick ya just sometimes gotta say fuck it and go for it lol

@PureBaja yfz450 is faster than a 700r so im sure the 450r has to be faster than the 700r as well---i just bought an 04 yfz450 gytr edition with less thansix hours on it at the time of purchase, its practically a new bike--the only bikes than i have been beaten by in a drag race is a built banshee, a ktm 505 and a yfz450R. i can out run anything else ltr450"s , trx450, and kfx 450---granted these wins have been on the pavement not the track, but far as power goes its hard to beat a yfz450

actually, its better to land with the back wheels first. if you land on all four the shocks will absorb a lot and there will be a hard rebound. did you just start jumping?

yea borsyzoli is right. i made the mistake of buying a yfz 450 for my first bike (i still have it) but the first day i rode it i flipped it because i was going too fast and misjudged a hill and i just launched it and i bounced right off it. i suggest a raptor 350 for a first quad

well it was by rt72 an barnegat bay, a little ways further down south than toms river.

it was my FAVORITE track ive ever ridden on, and to be honest, it wasnt even that good. it was just easy fast and fun. the people that ran the place were real assholes tho.
