They said citizens accept that they have to register their guns. Of course they accept it, it's simple if I don't register my gun a swat team comes to my house and either shoots me or takes away my freedom. Also my registration is something that sits in my safe, it doesn't stop me from pulling the trigger what stops me from shooting someone is my conscience. gun registration worked for Hitler, it helped him disarm many people so they could not defend themselves.

@quedorf if you look at the other developed countries (were socio-economic standards are comparable), places where there are less guns there are more violent crime, and places with more guns have less crime

this is a universal trend, and interestingly enough, there are no exceptions

Australia 1.2 etc. It is very interesting if you check the differences between firearm homicide rates, and non firearm homicide rates.

@quedorf Yea kinda tripped myself on that. Ether way though, the places in the USA where the gun crime rate is highest; are defiantly not first world places (all be it in a first world country.). I'm not saying Gun Control should be utterly scrapped. More focus should be placed on the licensing of Firearms Licenses.

I had an extremely rare single shot thumb trigger 22 stolen that was not registered.

Why did I not register my guns? Because Even though it was stolen it still hurts less than if I had tried to register and the government took it! Because there was no way to comply with the registry and we were all labelled criminals why bother following any of the gun laws. This legislation was a huge step backwards that made criminals of law abiding citizens!

Yes, the Dawson University student was scary. Her spinning hypocrisy was too much to take in. The bottom line was her insistence on "freedom & democracy" but she fights for the opposite. The registry data is not “hers” it belongs to the Canadian gun owners. She helped pay for a fraudulent and totalitarian policy that was sold as 2million dollars which in reality was 2 Billion, with allot of missing money. Someone should go to jail for this, not benefit from the crime.

I also love the responses from the police officer and the retired conservation officer in this committee. the registries DO NOT prevent gun crime, even the handgun registry is a absolute failure. believing a registry will prevent the crime is hogwash, brainwashing and failure in reasonable thinking.

as I see it now, scrap all the gun registries, enforce the current license requirements and allow law abiding citizens to do as they please in a legal manner and go full blown on the criminals!!!

the dawson student union representatives scare me the most, so much misinformation, it's giving me a headache lol

the shooter at Dawson College only carried one long arm, the shotgun. this shooting isn't proof that the registry works, it's proof that the registry is a absolute failure. all the guns used in the shooting were registered, but coincidentally it never stopped him from performing the shooting. it amazes me when anti gunners expect the registry to be like a solid wall to shootings.

1:09:28 The registry has been hacked into over 150 times, meaning that CRIMINALS have accessed this data, meaning they now have a shopping list of what guns and where they are... A couple of years ago my neighbour was broken into and had his guns stolen. His house was targeted. They were hit with precise timing meaning this wasn't just some random B&E. @civiladvantage What the Hell are you talking about? All the registry does, is have the address of whom, what type of firearm bought, and where it is stored. It does not in any way prevent anyone from using it. It does not save lives, prevent suicides, or murders. I guess before the registration, it was anarchy here... thank God, because of the registry we have become civilized. Do humanity a favor and get educated before you say something foolish again.

Australia's non firearm homicide rate is 1.26 per 100000, and firearm hom. rate is 0.31. England non firearm 1.33, and firearm 0.12. Now the US, which people seem to emulate non firearm 1.58, which is comparable, while firearm rate 2.97, which is ludicrously high.

The problem? Ghettos. That's where most of the actual shootings happen. The USA has more ghettos than Aus or UK. Look at Mexico and Austria. Gun control doesn't do jack shit.

Instead look at total homicde rates, the UK isn't that great. Look at the total Homicide rates. Austria has more lax rates, and its what? like 1-.5? Its less to do with guns; and more with standard of living. Raise that, crime goes down.

The US implemented stronger gun control in the 90's. Violent crime increased dramatically. All states but 2 have re implemented concealed carry. I people would just read a little more before picking a side....

Absolutely incredible. Quebec is absolutely at war with the common Quebecois. Two of Canada's worst multiple victim public shootings and they want even less law abiding citizens possessing guns. The world is upside down in Montreal. I would never let my children attend college there.

The Dawson College shooting was ended by a visiting police officer on campus, who shot the perp (with a gun). Dawson has since declared Dawson a gun-free zone. You couldn't make this up....you couldn't.
