  • Keep science in the science class.

  • So they don't want scientists in Texas.. What do they want their kids to become, "faith-healers" or some crap like it?:)

  • The Atheist faith is anti-science and rejection of intelligence.

There is no functional system that has ever been a consequence of other than intelligence. All functional systems are created by intelligence.

Faith that the universe and life are each consequences of whatever, just as long as no intelligence was involved, contradicts all evidence.

  • Texas does not need more BS in their educational system. a couple of freinds went to play in the team canada Football game (were from Canada and yes we actually beat the states) in Texas, and while in Texas they were asked by a few locals what canadian bacon was. \they decideed to troll a bit and told them that canadian bacon was from a special kind of unicorn that was only in Canada and the ppl they told this too believed them. TEXAS Y U NO MAKE EDUCATIONAL REFORM

  • What a progressive country we live in. I'm amazed they didn't call her a witch and burn her, stone her or drown her. I think people should be able to believe in anything they want even if it's wrong however stay the fuck out of the class room.

  • This just in! The Catholic Church has new reports of an evil greater than The Devil: The Super Devil. The Super Devil is at least 6 inches taller than the normal Devil, rides a flying motorcycle, and carries a jar of marmalade which is believed to cause people to commit adultery.

  • I'm so glad I live in Canada...

  • people have to get out and vote

  • Scopes monkey trial, anybody?

  • Yikes! They fired the director of science education for teaching science???

  • Wow, that's scary. Teachers are getting persecuted over teaching Evolution in school? I can't believe this anti-science activism is really on the rise in 21st century! And only in America ...

  • @powerinstars6

America is behind on the times in many things, America ranks 29th in science worldwide and something like 34th in mathematics, I am not happy I am an American, I am ashamed frankly.

  • @nitruswolf It's a shame that medicine cannot assist you in your struggle against the religious nut jobs. If deeply religious people who push rational thought to one side could be certified as mentally unsound. Things would soon fall nicely into place.

Just imagine if someone who claimed to have a personal relationship with a god. Could be viewed and treated in the same way as someone claiming a relationship with a six foot white rabbit called Fred?

  • @FLUSEM666 FYI, the 6 ft rabbit's name is Harvey ;)

  • @JGxxx77 I think you have them confused, Harvey is Fred’s older brother. An easy mistake to make. Fred is the one with the excessive flatulence due to his liking of Brussels sprouts and curried carrots. He has a certain presence that lingers long after he has gone.

  • Great woman indeed. We must thank her for raising the collective consciousness of the American people. Her message is clear: banish reason and court an unmitigated intellectual disaster. May your tribe increase Ms.Christine Comer.

  • So, how 'bout those new Texas eduation standards?

Remove mention of Thomas Jefferson; attribute the Constitution to the ramblings of John Calvin; remove mention of Native Americans who died at The Alamo; remove mention of Crispus Attucks, an African-Native American who died fighting the British at the Boston Massacre...

Anyone surprised by such a trend occuring in one of the Confederate states?

  • Science when did science became political? At least this lunacy is only in the US.

  • @frankystein12 My understanding is that there are small packets of people advocating such thing in Australia and Britain as well, but they do not get the power that they do in the U.S.

  • @scythiconatron Yeah, because Europe and Australia are far more secular and progressive than the U.S.

  • @frankystein12 I meant "since" instead of "science (first one)"

  • Take Creationism and Religion out of the schools. Teach students Reading, writing and arithmetic. Hell, as it is now the kids are graduating dumber than ever. The Chinese, Japanese and Indians from India, have left American kids in the dust.

  • cute parody but its a fail lol

  • Preach on gtrslinger. Preach the doctrine of you're benevolent understanding and rational hatred. Tell us more of this antisemitism you speak of, and more of you're fellow human being being a pile of shit philosophy.

  • haha yet you use MAN'S SCIENCE TO CURE YOUR ASS instead of god's prayer...yeah once again....YOUR BELIEFS ARE ALL CRAZY MADE UP BULLSHIT! haha Watch out... what if Zeus is real and he's pissed!?!? haha Like Jesus was white! GIVE ME A FUCKIGN BREAK DOUCHEBAG! I WIN AGAIN! HHA

  • Take a deep breath, count to ten, and then look for your meds, quickly but calmly.

  • Can someone please tell me what makes a certain group in the united states so damn different than the rest of the population?

  • Here's the real truth of Ben Stein's 'Expelled' movie, where he claims christians are being kicked out of colleges and unis for promoting intelligent design, it's actually the exact opposite way round, scientists are being expelled or 'terminated' for trying to teach or even talk about evolution science. It's appalling that christians are such hypocrites, it damages their weak position even further.

  • @alien8ted so it doesn't go both ways???

  • More reasons to avoid Texas. I always had bad experiences when traveling there and they seem to promote and thrive on stupidity.

  • That's disgusting. Are her superiors morons? Stay neutral on the topic of creationism? She's a science teacher and they fired her for teaching science! What next, firing a maths teacher for teaching maths? Disgraceful behaviour.

  • Wow.

  • keep fighting

  • wtf is wrong with these people its like asking a math teacher to teach that 1+1+1=1

  • They have all this power and they don't want to lose it.

  • LOL @ believing in a talking snake.

  • I'm from texas and that made me sick that they would do that to a teacher

  • this almost makes me not proud of being a former texan

  • But could such a policy be ethical and/or responsible? Oh, it would be politically prudent, especially in Texas and other Deep South states, but in this case, I'm apt to think that Comer's choice to ignore this hypothetical policy was in fact an ethical responsibility incumbent upon her by her role as an educator and scientist (a "knower" of facts).

  • this is why all religion, people who believe in religion, and anyone who wants to preach religion should be killed....

  • gtrslinger, anyone who preaches that other should be killed, should be killed. That includes you and me.

  • what other? it's black and white. No good comes from religion at ALL. Nothing. Think of one thing religion does besides causes hate, guilt, war, bigotry , etc... Don't give me that "hope" bullshit ether. Hope is the absence of REASON. By definition that's what religion is. Throw out "common sense" for MAGICAL ZOMBIE SPACE JEWS THAT'LL TAKE CARE OF OUR PROBLEMS SO WE WON'T HAVE TO REALIZED THE MAJORITY OF THE WORLD IS A BIG PILE OF SHIT! That's the truth.

  • 1. I meant to say "others," as in people. And no, nothing is black and white; some good does come religion. It's useful as a social tool to control the masses from totally going bonkers and killing everyone until we get to the point where we can control ourselves without it.

    2. It's funny that you mention hate and bigotry, because you're being a hateful bigot. You're in the same boat with the radical theists as far as I'm concerned. That was my point. You cannot stop idiocy with more idiocy.

  • @gtrslinger ONE THING = rehabilitaion

  • 1. so you believe spreading lies, fear and guilt is a great way to control the masses? Wow you are stupid... Guess what? If there was no relgion, WE'D STILL BE AROUND. And people have always killed , murdered, raped, GONE BONKERS as you said it. All with religion. So yeah, i think we should get rid of it and live FREE.

    2. You trying to be "Clever" on youtube = massive LOL'S I use reason, logic and science. You truly believe that lumps me in with religious wackos? Once again I'M THE WINNER! moron

  • 1. You wanted a use for religion, and I gave it to you. People are still as stupid as they were 100 years ago. You can't just wipe religion off the face of the earth and expect there not to be some chaos. Maybe in the future, but not now.

    2. Reason, logic, and science? All I see is egotism, name-calling, and presumption.

  • well you kill yourself first and i'll catch up later! haha

  • Sue the bastards!

  • I believe she already did, in some way or form. But the case was dismissed or something.

I can't believe, though, that they can so easily fire someone over this, especially since creationism is illegal to be taught in schools in the US. So why would you need to stay neutral?

  • I wonder if Aronra is going to make a video about this!

  • Oh! Old news apparently, I should have wikied before I commented.

  • These creationist will be putting people on bonfires again, if they allowed to continue lying to children.

  • w

    o

    w

  • they want to fill the position with a "science" director who will just go along with what ever they want to do. also this would be like firing a history director for not remaining neutral to holocaust denial.

  • agreed

  • Ben Stein is a poseur. McLeroy is incompetent in his position. Comer should be reinstated with back-pay.

Creationism and stealth creationism (IDC) are not debated in the scientific community - they're laughed at.

  • If I were a Texan, I would support electing Comer to the Board of Education. In her old job, she'd be a peon working for ideologues and/or fools. On the Board, she could actually do what she wants to do: teach Texan students the best science that humanity has to offer as of 2009.

  • EXPELLED: NO (real) INTELLEGENCE ALLOWED

  • They should make a documentary about that and completely debunk Stein's documentary...no I mean fairytale.

  • OMG is this true? Is the Texan education board retarded or what?

  • Texas has a board of education?

  • seems more like the Texas board of Retardation to me. A truly shocking decision...

  • Texas has education?

  • Sports and cheerleading

  • @Omatic810

No. I grew up in Texas and finished high school in California. I can pretty much tell you that no, they don't have education in Texas. They have whiskey and Jesus.

  • @meyerjac

That is sad considering where I went to school in California 80% of the students didn't know where the state of New Hampshire was asking "is that near Boston?" when I told them where I was from.

We need a national education standards board to regulate our nations education, considering I was 11th grade with high honors back in New Hampshire before moving to Cali then once in Cali they couldn't convert the grades and placed me in 9th grade.

  • @meyerjac Whiskey Jesus and Loose men and women of all shapes and sizes lol!

  • yes...but maybe it doesnt qualify to be called as one

  • Was she neutral on 2 + 2 = 4 also?

  • excellent point

  • Your point is well founded. It's like expecting an English teach to be neutral on proper spelling in order to not offend the dyslexic. At least the dyslexic have a valid reason for their misspellings, unlike young earth creationists (in acute particular).

  • "McLeroy Jenkins!!!!"

Ruined it for the whole state...

  • Hahaha... Nice satire of expelled. Good luck with that trial

  • Its a real story.

  • I know... I meant when she was writing on the chalkboard..
