  • can you use a tv card on this item

  • @darkwildchild79

I have not, but several on my blog and forum have on the 3610. Some claim they can watch Hulu desktop and record another show at the same time OTA! Sounds too good to be true, but a few regulars swear by it. Many have used the Kworld units for their low cpu consumption, low price and good playback quality.

  • How is the wifi? Is it just like most PCs? I'm hoping it's not as bad as the PS3. Let me know. Thanks!

  • @bjlopez13

The wifi is not that good out of the box. You have to open the case and trim a small piece of aluminum shield that covers most of the antenna. I have a link to a video in my subs that shows this 5 minute fix. Once done the wifi works just as good as most any.

  • Have you tried running iTunes movies on this machine? I heard this machine doesn't play them very well. I'm very interested in this computer, but only if iTunes movies can play smoothly on it....thanks!

  • @wayner5102421 iTunes player does not support gpu acceleration, so the revo does not have enough CPU to run it. This info is per a poster on my forum.

  • My old machine Celeron 2.66ghz(Singlecore) 512mb ram and intel chipset running WoW on low setting 15-25fps(3-8fps in dalaran) Im sure this machine runs medium settings on 30fps+

  • @OldVikingSchool

Sooo, what are you saying...or asking???

  • @pauljrobertss Was answering Syckful sry

  • can you power it up with the keyboard ?

  • @sirberner12 Power it on? No, same as any other pc and cannot do that. You can wake it from sleep or hibernate with the keyboard or mouse.

  • Hey, I'm wondering do you think this system would be able to run world of warcraft?

Since it is dual core and has a nvidia ion. i think it would be too. if it can play Left 4 dead fine.

  • Can you run youtube videos on this without any problems? Btw nice video :P

  • @iProBallin Yes, Youtube HD vids play nicely on it. You have to let the video cache first as YT's bandwidth suck. But the video plays perfectly.

  • Damn, an RCA monitor. Must be old.

  • I think its an RCA TV as these Revo units are mostly purchased as HTPCs

  • Yup, you got it. ;-)

  • Nothing old here, brotha.

Brand NEW RCA 1080P HDTV 40 inch.

  • where did u buy it?

  • Sorry but am i wrong or is it a quadcore processor in the taskmanager?

  • It's a dual core and each core is hyper threaded. Hence the 4 entries in task manager.

  • @lindemeyer it' a dual core processor, but the intel atom has hyperthreading enabled (two threads per core), so each core shows up as two cores in the task manager.

  • Yup, dual core with 2 threads per core.

  • Thank you Paul for setting that up. I recommend adding that to your review. BTW, great freaking review. I am so sick of these half ass reviews these sites put out. It was great to read a review that really took there time to show others what the unit can actually do. For me, smooth Hulu and Media Center are a must, and the Revo sounds very capable.

Do you know if the 1/8" audio jack doubles as a mini TOSLINK? Acer's newer laptops do, so I figured the Revo might too.

  • I have been waiting for this driver before buying an ION net top. Though, I am a little concerned about it's ability to smoothly scroll through Windows 7's Media Center menus. Can you confirm that it can? Also, have you tried hooking up an USB HD tuner to it to record TV through Win7 MC?

  • AlexNC,

The Flash 10.1 Beta is out and rocks! I've not even turned on WMC, but I can and check back.

I've read a few others experiences with USB TV tuner/DVR And it works well. Hit my blog for a more complete review and leave a comment on the WMC and I'll post a response.

  • BTW, I set up MCE on Revo. Rolls along like butter. Fast, smooth, ....normal! Library build was fast and responses during build was ....normal! Videos via SMB or Internet Flash Based played just fine. CPU usage while playing either was under 15%. Forgetaboutit! Just get one, it works.

  • I personally have not installed any games. But I have seen other points made on the earlier model 3600, that I thought that I've seen video of Call of Duty and some other newer games working very well on it. Saw it here on YTube.

  • nice! could you tell me how does it react with games?
