As Salamu Alaikum..Im a muslim from Philly living in Houston Tx now. Im sad to say that the muslims in our city are always associated with the streets and prison. Just like in many other cities in the US. How ever if you are in the community you will see that there are a vast majority that have a desire to live up to the integrity that has been historically associated with the muslims. Please make Dua that the city recieve the mercy and blessing of Allah and that many more remain muslim.

The slave trade may have had arab involvement but the fact is that African civilization perpetrated slavery before the arabs joined the business. The Slave trade was NOT started by them. Most of the time you could work off your enslavement, like indentured servitude. Arabs trafficked, MILLIONS. We're talking about 8 MILLION dead from the desert crossing. Yes there is Racism in the world and it has infected even religious groups. Once again "true islam" is the answer. You lack the understanding that the source of the faith "Qur'an and Sunnah" command all muslims to help the poor. This is the third pillar of the religion and one of the more serious. If a billioinaire who claims to be muslim and doesn't act on the pillars, he is no longer a muslim. Then it all becomes politics not religion. Islam is not to blame for the shortcomings of men.
