  • The meaning of this song is not easily grasped. The lyrics, written by Jay chou's good friend is deep and traditional. To understand, you first go into chinese culture language is the first step.

In Chinese culture, the Qing hua ci, or the porcelain vase you see is a highly priced item. To create the right shade of blue, the vase has to be made at a certain time of the year due to the environment. He is describing a woman he loves and their predicament,

  • hes chinese right?

  • um excuse me. but if u read earlier, they were discussing the meaning of "qing" in the song... and i was just clarifying that. I wasn't referring to the title of the song at all.

  • he never said "this song's title is 'qing tian ci'".. you're the one who's acting.. & fix your grammar before correcting others..

if you knew why this song was called qing hua ci then maybe you'd figure out what they were talking about

  • amazing song, i like his new style

  • jay likes chinese typical style now.his songs almost go back to the ancient time..or movies ....

  • that's wat i like best =D

  • Same, I love how he mixes in traditional Chinese sounds into his songs.

ex)Ju Hua Tai, Qing Hua Ci, Huo Yuan Jia, Fa Ru Xue, Qian Li Zhi Wai...

And all of those are my top favorite Jay songs!!

  • yup yup

  • @dragaan how can you not mention Dong Feng Po

  • but he has been doing that for ages...only now he is doing it more frequently thats why you realise it more...He did it in long quan and wai po and even before those albums...so nothing has changed really just like he promised from the beginning.

  • If you can't read character, heres the chorus in pinyin:

#tian qing se deng yan yu er wo zai deng ni cui yan miao miao sheng qi ge jiang qian wan li zai ping di shu han li fang qian chao de piao yi jiu dang wo wei yu jian ni fu bi

*tian qing se deng yan yu er wo zai deng ni yue se bei da lao qi yun kai le jie ju ru chuan shi de qing hua ci zi gu zi mei li ni yan dai xiao yi

    enjoy =]

  • Chorus in character:

#天青色等烟雨 而我在等你 炊烟袅袅升起 隔江千万里 在瓶底书汉隶仿前朝的飘逸 就当我为遇见你伏笔

*天青色等烟雨 而我在等你 月色被打捞起 晕开了结局 如传世的青花瓷自顾自美丽 你眼带笑意

this is my favorite song on the whole CD =]

  • the MV is rather dissappointing.

  • I agree with u

  • hes my hero, i love him so much, hes so talented, but his style used to be different

  • i kno!!!! same here he is my hero too and this song its so beautiful i love the ending tone of each sentence!!!!

  • Nice song, but those vases are not green...

  • Qing in the old days meant blue/green, just like Qing Tien (blue sky)

  • qing tian means bright day, not blue sky, qing is blue in the rainbow colors

  • youre right; tian means day. just like jintian, or mingtian.

  • qing tian means a clear day, which can be blue or bright. qing is actually literally translated as light green...

however, "qing tian ci" here is referring to a very specific blueish color (really hard to make) on porcelain. we can see that color in the video..

  • @fresbhoy

    go take your chinese lessons

  • i like i like!!

  • Jay is the man! i luv all of his songs!

  • It's sweet!! Sound so soft and beautiful !!
