@zeppelo i'd call Ramond Scott, Hugh LeCain fathers of electronic music, Kraftwerk fathers of techno and electronic pop, and please do not mistake my love for Kraftwerk is my fav band ever.
@lennoxido Yaeh right, but people hardly know Scott or LeCain, while Kraftwwerk brought electronic music to the masses. And, by the way, if we talk about pioneers, I still think Wendy Carlos is one of the greatest.
Yes, the electronic drums were designed and built by Florian Schneider. He has a big passion for handmade electronic instruments. Even his flute was electronic.
It's so amazing to see them go from experimenting to what later became the Kraftwerk that we know during The Robots performance. They had finally found their niche
Re the "checking their email" comment. I had that feeling when I saw the Yazoo: Reconnected tour a few years ago. Vince Clarke was pressing a button here and there on an Apple Mac and not much else. Of course it doesn't detract from his genius...it just doesn't make for a very exciting concert experience!
Hát ez igaz !Nagyszerü munka !Gratulálok biztos hogy sokáig tartott összeszedni ezt a sok számot.Igazábol sose tudtam hogy ijen régen kezdték el.Koszi ezt a remek osszeálitást.
@LIGHTRONIX Chuckles :) I'm only a casual Kraftwerk fan, have a few albums (even on VINYL!) and the "I Was A Robot" book, though I never read it (bought about 10 years ago, as it got such bad reviews).
It seems there is only ONE original Kraftwerk member remaining on tour? Surely that's not very fair.
the performances of radioaktivitat and die roboter were from minimum maximum, yes? minimum-maximum was released in 2005. anyway, crticisms aside absolutely wonderful and rare material!
That doesn't rule out Aerodynamik. Considering how long it took Kraftwerk to make that album, the tracks were probably being worked on for quite a while.
so in the first clip of 1970 when it was orginisation when it was re named kraftwerk did most of the people in that clip leave because in ruckzuck thwere is only three
that first clip is that really kraftwerk who is on the guitar and who is on the drums were is ralf. in the second clip of ruckzuck what are this two metal boxes above ralf keyboard. 1971 what is that song called who is on stage with florian? 1973 what is that small box on ralf piano. 1976 what is that song in pocket calculator what is florian using 1997 what is that song?
so does steffern actually play anything or does he just use his laptor 4 the graphics
1. in the first clip the band is named Organisation... not really kraftwerk... only ralf and florian went to kraftwerk later. on the guitar is Butch Hauf, and on the drums is Alfred Monicks. Ralf is on the keyboards but isn't filmed.
2. the two metal boxes are some sort of mini synthesisers
3. the song is called Truckstop Gondolero. on stage are florian, michael rother and klaus dinger
4. that small box is, i believe, some sort of sound changing mini machine
A really good selection. Of course, everybdy would pick their own favourite excerpts, but some of them are really nice.
My only suggestion is that you could take some of the professional footage of the 2008 gig made by the Brazilian tv (there are a really nice version of Les Mannequins, between others).
Apart from that, I think that to watch this clip is a good way to see their evolution on stage in 10 minutes.
6.35 what's the name of this song please??????

That's an unusual drum instrument they used in the 70's. Did they design it themselves?

@djmixsound Pretty Sure Wolfgang Flur had more to do with the concept, design and production of the electronic drums.

@djmixsound
Great video, but you are wrong regarding the electronic drums. Wolfgang Flur built the first drum pad set in Kraftwerk.

Kraftwerk in early times is like Pink Floyd for me! Also, I loved the performance for "Pocket calculator" - they are really "dancing mekanik"!))))
I want to watch even some of bootlegs you mixed here!
p.s.: Music in black-and-white performance reminds me of Depeche Mode's "Barrel of a gun" beginning, exactly, on the contrary.)
p.s.: Even DVD of "Minimum-maximum" exists in two variations, right?

1. in the first clip the band is named Organisation... not really kraftwerk... only ralf and florian went to kraftwerk later. on the guitar is Butch Hauf, and on the drums is Alfred Monicks. Ralf is on the keyboards but isn't filmed.

4. that small box is, i believe, some sort of sound changing mini machine
djmixsound 2 years ago
5. the song from 1976 is antenna (it is mentioned in the video description also)
6. florian is using a mini calculator
7. the 1997 song doesn't have an exact title
8. stefan is a video technician in the group, but i think he makes also some sound effects
Thanks for your comment. Forever KRAFTWERK
djmixsound 2 years ago
hah! I used to run Bootleg TV :) good times...
kraftvolt 2 years ago
The 1976 part from 3:03 to 3:40 is not live! It's an excerpt from the videoclip of Antenna, which was never been played live.
Also The Robots 1978 is NOT live. It's the studio version.
Computerlove from 6:28 to 6:50 is not from 1991. Its from 1992 at the Leicester Uni.
The part from 6:51 to 7:33 is Nummweltverschmutzung and is from a concert given in 1998 and not in 1997.
technik56 2 years ago
i know all of this stuff
i just wanted to show how the band Kraftwerk evolved over aprox. 4 decades
it doesn't matter if some songs are live or not
What is wonderful, is their extraordinary evolution !
Thank you though for the informations ;)
