I don't like gun violence. I'm typically leery of gun enthusiasts. That said, the intruder was a piece of shit. While it would be ideal to stop the intrusion in a non-deadly manner, I think she was completely justified in defending herself the only surefire way to do so. So while I remain cautious about guns myself, in a situation like this: shoot him. Shoot him right in the face.

Im glad she didn't give a warning shot ir shoot him in the leg. Shooting someone in tbsp leg does not mean they will stop. Also, if you were in her shoes at that exact moment, you would not think, "oh ill just shoot his leg." You would just point and pull the trigger. What she should have done is shot him in the abdomen with the pistol, which will likely stop him, and if he bleeds out, then too bad, but at least she should have attempted not to kill him. I remember a couple of years ago four men with baseball bats broke into a store and attacked the owner who pull out his gun and shot two of them dead. The man was sentenced to jail for "exceeding the necesary amount of force" while self-defending himself. As if in those moments you are able to concentrate and focus aiming in a guy's leg, while the four of them are swinging the bats at your head...sad
