Australia had to qualify to even get a play-off Vs the fifth placed CONCACAF team, usually Uruguay.

Then more often than not they were lumped with their home game FIRST (a distinct disadvantage) and also had to put up with all the pre-match mind games the desperate Sth Americans would play.

The 'Asian' teams (Oceanic actually) were, if anything, a hindrance to AU in that they were so poor and offered little competition/practice for the likes of Uruguay.

Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka During their Leeds days were very close to world class.

In fact KEWELL was world class, thats why he was wanted by every Club in Europe, Including Manu, Arsenal, Barcelona and of course Liverpool.

Viduka was the hottest Striker in the prem at that time too.

Easily the best back to goal striker During his time at leeds. Hope he comes back for the WC by some chance.
