I was there in the summer of 2011. What a calm and mysterious place that was... I put a page of one of his books on the grave. When I arrived there, I saw a couple reading H.P. Lovecraft near the tomb stone. It was already covered with squids and this VERY weird symbol, which looked masonic.

Great video! Funny and informative. I didn't start reading Lovecraft until after I moved out of RI, and I wish I had gotten into him before then. I've heard that there is a tree near his grave, and people carve the chants and names of the eldritch into it. True?
I'm sure I've passed that house before. Is it right down the road from the RISD museum? I never knew about the history and legends about it. My school only took us on the Something Upstairs tour. X-P
@velouria85 Well that house is close to Brown University, and I do think the RISD museum is nearby. I never saw any names of the eldritch on the trees nearby, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was any. On the anniversery of his death and birth, people do gather there for readings.
Worlds GREATEST writer, his stories still give me the creeps even though I've read them hundreds of times over. A very great tribute. Thanks for honoring Lovecraft.

The English people in the cemetery had a wee wee. Mrs Harris hung out the window and shouted "qui, qui".

Yay! H.P.L.! My faves are the Dunwich horror, The doom that came to Sarnath, and The Dreamquest of unknown Kadath.

you can say that again.
I love the colour out of space, 'cause it creeps me every time I read it. Lovecraft is the best!

Well, at Swans Point Cemetery, there is a sign that says video taping and photography is prohibated, but there really is no one there to stop you.
