@chaungo id disagree, im a marine rifleman and ive found that hitting the bolt catch is far more efficient, even when operating in sub-zero temperatures. its easier to miss the charging handle, plus it requires more movement which makes it slower. just slap that bitch with the palm of your hand. its hard as fuck to miss. even if you lose your whole hand slap it with your nub.
My friend came back home on leave from the marines, and he decided to show us some of the shooting drills they practice with his ar. It was some pretty cool stuff
@warfighter929 Dont forget that they are soldiers, they must do something tactical to survive, not to do the "Fancy" Stuff (Fancy Shit wont keep you alive...) Anyway, prefer the Ak 47 (dont need to bitch slap my gun and its very reliable xD)
@CSnakeV when your magazine goes dry the bolt locks to the rear, when you slap the bolt release it sends the bolt forward and chambers a round so you dont have to rack the bolt back after reloading
@CSnakeV why would you reach to the back of the weapon to pull back the charging handle when the bolt release is 2 inches above your hand and does the same thing, its a waste of valuable time. you obviously dont know what your doing with an m16/m4 when it comes to speed reloads
@burt1569 Forgetting something important, i wont be a soldier, so i would buy the gun witch i like most, and do whatever i want to it (in this case, i would buy an ak 47). And, if the bolt releaser is in the left and must be slapped, its a problem for left-handers, since they hold the pistol grip with the left hand.
@CSnakeV I'm pretty sure you have never fired an AR-15. I shoot left and right and simply hitting the bolt lock is more efficient than having to lose your check weld to put the charging handle back. Why waste time and extra movement when there is a more efficient way right there.
@Derek199574 No, I havent, in Argentina, you cant own any automatic weapon (at least, legally) less would be an Automatic Assault Rifle, Witch even the caliber is illegal right here (i think) Yeah, it may be more efficient, but as i said, if i lived in the U.S., i would buy the gun i liked more, not the one witch is more efficient in combat.
On the Canadian C7A2 there is an ambidextrous mag release right below the bolt catch so there is a chance that you could accidentally hit that and release the mag. As well in combat one may find it difficult to to hit that little button so instead they rack it. Here is the gun fighter package that shows these drills /watch?v=vBZZwsDywBA
@Derek199574 The problem with hitting bolt latch to send the bolt forward lies with weapon and mag cleanliness. In dusty/dirty environments, your bolt will get stuck and require a rack anyway, so may as well get in the habit of powerstroking it from the get go
@doctic312 Never had a problem with the bolt getting stuck after slapping the 'bolt latch' even after the weapon was completely encased in sand and mud.
@doctic312 The bolt catch is simply a paddle connected to a lever inside the rifle. I really don't think it's easy to "jam" it. Plus, a lot of guys accidentally give themselves jams with AR type rifles before of the awkward location.
@Derek199574 In military teachings, they state that pulling the cocking handle back is more efficient because, if you keep making a habit of pressing the bolt catch, when you operate in sub-zero temp, or if you get shot in the hand, or if you're sleep fucked, that little bolt release you press easily, will become hard, so they teach you to pull the cocking handle "just incase", I've seen people miss that bolt catch before, so it's a 50/50.
@CSnakeV Under stress when people are shooting back at you, the hyper extended movement of your hands and gross motor skills can make you unintentionally short stroke the charging handle not releasing the bolt. Slapping the bolt release can also be ineffective because your hands can turn into the shape of a cup and not release the bolt. I prefer just pushing it with my thumb and practice it with massive repetition since it work 99% of the time.
@IMFDB Like I said " i would buy the gun i liked more, not the one which is more efficient in combat." Plus, when you say" I prefer just pushing it" You mean the bolt release like the Scar has? I didn`t knew that the M4 had it.

@CSnakeV i have a solution to both of your problems a battery assist lever i have one on my gun no racking no slapping just a quick smooth action in your trigger area lets you close your bolt and have your finger on the trigger very quickly. a bit pricy since its just a piece of metal but worth it.
@John234pwns well i have a bushy, and the lever works flawlessly, my friends got a Ruger works great, same as a couple range buddies with panther arms, & DD i cannot see how it would cause a jam, cause if it jams that your bolt release not the BAD.
@three3eight what are you talking about? It's not a marine thing that's the way it's done hitting the bolt release is way faster and that's standard operating when reloading the m4 weapons platform. But yes I agree the mad lever is very useful for right handed shooters I recommend it to anyone
@foshohoe, understood. Too me I found that racking was easier than slapping the bolt catch only for the simple reason that it is possible you can miss slapping the bolt catch in a high stress situation (fine motor skills) compared to a rack drill which is 100% sure fire( brute force), unless of course you have a stoppage but that's a whole other story and drill. As long as you are maintaining eyes on your target down rage as your doing your drills, it all works.
yea that was really fast, thats how it should be done. without this kind of training it would take u 5 minutes to reload and by then you would proably be killed
@AHardstyler6 ... its not full because its just a simulated reload. It would just take longer to get to the reload and waste two bullets. The whole point is to reload the gun, not have more in a mag.
@Sp33dyD3m0n When you're wearing gloves, running, and/or being shot at. Your thumb is not going to fall where it normally does when you're standing on a range. We train like that so we hit it the first time and don't end up looking for the release.
@Sp33dyD3m0n I would say that using your thumb is slower because you have to either instinctively know where it is or have to actually look for it. Whereas your palm covers much more surface area giving you a better chance of hitting it and possibly being faster.
@Ike1727 I get that, but rather than removing my hand completely from the gun after reloading, my hand is automatically right at the mag well. Thus my thumb, whether it be just the right length or some weird stretching I've never noticed, is on the release. No I don't look for the release, and I never tip my rifle that direction while shooting, only the other way to check the chamber after a magazine.
@coty734 Hmm what? I can do that, its not really hard to reload fast if u practice it some.. moron. And also yes, armchair warriors as u call them fight alot more for freedom and for humanity than modern soldiers, thats why i decided not to go to Afghanistan for my military and pursue some rich fuckers dream about more money, but whatever, live your life in ignorance, but know that the people u refer to as keyboard heroes to alot more fighting for humans than any soldier, goodbye vox populi.
Lol Who cares how fast you can reload a gun? As long as you can reload it faster than your enemy and shoot and kill them before they can shoot you then your good. And stop bringing up CoD to every military video your video game fantasies are stupid.
sleight of hand pro holy shit omfg call of duty in real life oh my gawd holy crap reloading m4 i have this perk in real life i can smoke blunts quickly i can fuck yall moms quickly i can shit faster doing my homework faster i can write faster i can own peoples so quickly holy motherfucking of fucking shit dawg!
For all you airsoft kids that try to speed reload.Stop playing COD...there's no such thing as perks in real life. And doing speed reloads and showing off doesn't make you look cool.It makes you look fucking dumb.
@MrBlackHawx It's the bolt catch he "slaps" usually you just push it down and it loads a round into the chamber and keeps the mag locked in. Instead of being a douchebag to you, i actually decided to tell you. But yeah, he slaps the bolt catch.
@kool35196 Thank you, we need more people on youtube like you. I have an M16 replica airsoft rifle but you cant reload like that. I always see people do that in blakc ops though.
@IntolerableTolerancy No, he's hitting the bolt release, the forward assist a) is on the right side of the rifle, he slaps the bolt release on the left; and b) the forward assist only actually does anything if a round if there is a chambering problem.
nice! im pissed, just got a ar15, and first time shooting, it decided that its shell ejector doesn't wanna work. now i gotta send it into to bushmaster to get it fixed. i just wanna shoot, lol
Try do that under stress--with enemies shooting at you! COD shitheads, you have no idea how things work in the real world. Besides, it's all muscle memory and situational awareness. And the extra mags need to be there when you wanna do this :)
@technoty I have no idea what you mean by "steelhead" and presumably you mean hollow point when you say "opentip" but the military is using 62gr M855A1 as standard issue for M4s as of 2010, and 77gr Mk 262 in SPRs.
Google is your friend, BTW, as is Wikipedia. It only takes a minute.
@mathias290 NO HE DIDN'T, HE HAD HOURS OF TRAINING THAT ENABLED HIM TO FINALLY RELOAD SO QUICKLY, NOT SOME SHITTY ASS VIDEO GAME ATTRIBUTE YOU FUCKTARD.

coty734 3 months ago
@coty734 Hmm what? I can do that, its not really hard to reload fast if u practice it some.. moron. And also yes, armchair warriors as u call them fight alot more for freedom and for humanity than modern soldiers, thats why i decided not to go to Afghanistan for my military and pursue some rich fuckers dream about more money, but whatever, live your life in ignorance, but know that the people u refer to as keyboard heroes to alot more fighting for humans than any soldier, goodbye vox populi.
Etrajbe 3 months ago
Lol Who cares how fast you can reload a gun? As long as you can reload it faster than your enemy and shoot and kill them before they can shoot you then your good. And stop bringing up CoD to every military video your video game fantasies are stupid.

@Bless1995
it's not about who burns through the most of the ammo wins
it's the one who puts more bullets to the enemy heads

For all you airsoft kids that try to speed reload.Stop playing COD...there's no such thing as perks in real life. And doing speed reloads and showing off doesn't make you look cool.It makes you look fucking dumb.

how do you reload by slaping the gun?
MrBlackHawx 8 months ago
@MrBlackHawx you clearly have no knowledge of real firearms.
blcklotus15 8 months ago
@blcklotus15 Well than you for restating the problem, but I was looking for a solution...
MrBlackHawx 8 months ago
@MrBlackHawx It's the bolt catch he "slaps" usually you just push it down and it loads a round into the chamber and keeps the mag locked in. Instead of being a douchebag to you, i actually decided to tell you. But yeah, he slaps the bolt catch.
kool35196 8 months ago
@kool35196 Thank you, we need more people on youtube like you. I have an M16 replica airsoft rifle but you cant reload like that. I always see people do that in blakc ops though.
MrBlackHawx 8 months ago
@MrBlackHawx No problem man. I personally hate those douchebag people.
kool35196 8 months ago
@MrBlackHawx He's hitting the forward assist.
IntolerableTolerancy 8 months ago
@IntolerableTolerancy No, he's hitting the bolt release, the forward assist a) is on the right side of the rifle, he slaps the bolt release on the left; and b) the forward assist only actually does anything if a round if there is a chambering problem.
Amid87 7 months ago
@IntolerableTolerancy The forward assist is only for jams. He's hitting the bolt release.
haircutbob2 7 months ago
when your hitting the bolt catch dont swing ur arm to far out

nice! im pissed, just got a ar15, and first time shooting, it decided that its shell ejector doesn't wanna work. now i gotta send it into to bushmaster to get it fixed. i just wanna shoot, lol
upidsteman 8 months ago
Try do that under stress--with enemies shooting at you! COD shitheads, you have no idea how things work in the real world. Besides, it's all muscle memory and situational awareness. And the extra mags need to be there when you wanna do this :)
TheOz91 8 months ago
I like how at the end he looks around "oh yea, Im a badass"
lon3lyaznikka 8 months ago
what kinda rounds are comin outt? steelhead? opentip? what's the standard?
technoty 8 months ago
@technoty I have no idea what you mean by "steelhead" and presumably you mean hollow point when you say "opentip" but the military is using 62gr M855A1 as standard issue for M4s as of 2010, and 77gr Mk 262 in SPRs.
Google is your friend, BTW, as is Wikipedia. It only takes a minute.
