I used a tuna can as the wind screen. I then cut the bottom out and removed the top with a "safety type" can opener. I then drilled some holes (4) spaced evenly around the top. Then I used a step bit to put 1/2" holes around the bottom, but only on one side. I then used a computer fan to act as the grill. Worked really well for what I was trying to achieve.
Having even a few drops of denatured alcohol or a little petroleum jelly helps with the cotton on top lit loads. I think your jet holes need to be bigger to burn the wood gas. You have the heat and the fuel, so you need more air, maybe. I couldn't tell by your demonstration exactly how it was made. Good effort, good result, though. Thanks for sharing and good luck!
