NEWAH or Newari languages have connection with Rai languages. NEWAH language still shows Kirati features in verbal inflection. For example "YALA YEN " in Newari language are Kirat words. Buddha was born in Nepal. He came to Kathmandu valley during King Jitedasti. King Jitedasti was a 7th King from Kirat dynasty. And yeah Ashoka never ruled Nepal because Kirat at that time were very strong. Kirat only succumbed to Licchavis in around 330AD during King Gasti who was 29th Kirat King.
