  • Thank you for sharing your gift~

  • Excellent ! Please tell me where do i get the initial pattern and step by step in making this very nice handbag? Thank you and keep up the great work !

  • @minpot We don't sell patterns, I teach how to make them. Look at the tutorial it shows you how to make the pattern,

  • First off, thank you so much for sharing these tutorials. I'm a bit new to this, and think it is really inspirational. I was just wondering, though, if you have a preferred fabric for this style of handbag. i.e. the zebra print fabric, and what kind of fabric is that? Thank you for any response!

  • @sourkitty1 I really don't have a preferred fabric. It's a designers choice, any fabric you want. If it's thin back it, any fabric will do. Just a polyester print. Thanks!

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • how can i get the pattern plz

  • @vaneliamero I can teach you how to make or you can buy a DVD to teach you how to make it. You learn the pattern and how to put it together in detail. The trick is this. If you learn how to make this bag you can make any soft bag! The secret is in the pattern. You won't ever have to buy a pattern again.

  • what kind of glue do you use?? can the regular fabric glue work?

  • @philosgal rubber cement, The fabric glue may work I've never tried it.

  • Sooo. Cuuuute Thanks

  • Love your videos. Was just wondering how you can sew through the rubber cement glue you use? I would think it would gum up your sewing machine needle.

  • @roxsews The rubber cement you really don't have to worry too much about gumming up your needle. This is just to keep stuff in place until you sew.

If you were using Barge that would be a different story.

  • What if it gets wet? Then what'll happen?

  • @dfrancis98 Nothing will happen If dried properly. My wife has been carrying it over a year and it's been wet many times. I think she even washed it once.

  • what materials we need to prepare? i can't hear it clearly

  • I'm always looking for new and inexpensive but expensive looking items to sew for my 3 girls. This is exactly what I've been looking for. This pattern, along with several others on You Tube gives me the opportunity to keep my girls looking good without breaking the bank. Thank you for taking the time to share, it's greatly appreciated.

  • @camilleSYoung thank you!

  • Excellent presentation. I already make and sell handbags, but I just love new and refreshing approaches to the art of making accessories like purses. Looking forward to seeing the rest. By the way, you have wonderful and pleasant speaking skills. Keep up the great work.

  • LOL@"Sorry bout all that Noise"

  • ya I have a wife 4 kids and 2 grands..why?

  • hey Richard,you have a missus?

  • Rubber cement- Bestine rubber cement. I get from an art supply store.

  • what are stays and wad are the linings normally of? felt? i've always wondered what it is that gives bag the rigidity.... can someone please tell me?

  • @animecraver

Stays are made from a special paper. Stays give the bag a clean finish and they add functionality to your handbag. Stays are made for the most part from the master pattern.

You can use felt or Pellon to stiffen or add body to the bag.

  • @manigaultgentile Thank you. I've been meaning to try my hand at making bags but was always confused what gave the bag it's rigidity.

  • Your story is absolutely inspirational! Thank you! What a gift you are.

  • @AshLibris

The real gift is your appreciation!

  • @manigaultgentile

I really love your work !!!!!!! I just want to ask you what kind of glue you use? I´ been trying on many kinds of glue and sometimes get´s very messy or my needle stuck in the machine when I sew, Can you help me please ? Thanks for your tutorials they are really awesome !

  • I like your tutorials and it's amazing you're sharing your knowledge with us, but for an ABSOLUTE beginner, I find it extremely hard to understand and comprehend.

  • @VieRenChan

I was a 45 year old man from the streets of NYC, driving a cab. I never sewed anything in my life. I had no interest in fashion or handbags. I took a class to use the library -3 months later my designs were on the cover of magazines.

It's not about what you know now, it's about what you are willing to learn tomorrow.

I think you will be surprise at how smart you are and how easy this is.

Draw a shape, add 3/4" border and you got a pattern. It's that simple.

  • @manigaultgentile That is extremely inspirational. Good for you!

  • what is a gorset??? .....time 1.42

  • @jayneee18

Did you mean what is a gusset? A gusset is really the middle of your bag. It gives your bag width.

  • what is a stay?

  • @keithsbeautystation

Stay's can be made from different materials but 99% are made from a paper.

They help keep the shape of the bag also. You also turn edges over your stays to get a clean finished look.

  • when glueing the flimsy fabric to your stays what glue do you use, I tried to use rubber cement and what a mess it seaped through the fabric. It Does however works well on leather

  • I love making stuff & I have decided to design handbags & purses but there is one problem LOL... I'm handicapped & I can only draw my idea. so could you give me any advice how to start my own designing even though I'm handicapped?

    Thank you.

  • @ShanLPH76 What is your handicap ?

  • @manigaultgentile: I was born with spina bifida...when I was 4 months I had a spinal fluid infection.. that made my left hand not work very well...

  • @ShanLPH76 The only problem I can really see is maybe cutting through double layer of pattern paper. I think you will be fine. When you make your bags just give your designs a lot of space to sew. So that you don't have to fight to get the bag in place too sew. I spend a lot of time fighting:). If you have full use of your feet and good strength in your right hand and can find a way to hold down with your left. You can do it!

Send me your email addy. I have something that will help.

  • Hi Great videos, just wot im looking for...

I have absolutely no idea about bag making but would like to give this a try. To help me out could you please tell me what 'stays' are made from? and are they purely to provide stability and shape to the finished bag?

  • @karmalola

Stay's can be made from different materials but 99% or paper.

They help keep the shape of the bag also. You also turn edges over your stays to get a clean finished look.

  • you make them

  • Where do you buy stays and other supplies to make your handbags?

  • Excellent tutorial! Many thanx.

  • @peperudi thanks

  • thanks love the video

  • @princrissy thank you

  • @princrissy thank you

  • This is so cool! Exactly what I was looking for!:)

  • thanks

  • what glue you use to stick?

  • Which bag are u talking about? In most cases it would be rubber cement. Have u been to the blog?

  • First, what are the measures of the patterns? how do the patterns and use of that material? carton?

With regard to the final hit, just paste it and you're done or after you pass the needle?

    Support the weight?

  • The pattern should be 10" X 6" . I don't really understand what you are asking me in the second part of ur question. Leave a comment on the site. I will answer u there.

  • Stays are basically piece of paper that make the bag do what u what it 2. Go look at my blog. The answer is there!

Yor glue them in place with rubber cement.

  • What are glue your stays.
