  • nece birds

  • your birds need to work on their timing

  • How does the chanter work? Does it use a contact like the deager chanter or some other mechanism? The finger articulation is great!

  • It is similar technology as the Ross and Deger chanters with the difference that the contact metal piece is a small brass tube section with the diameter of a tone hole. The chanter is a real wood bagpipe chanter, with real holes. The maker told me that the base unit supports Highland and Bulgarian/Macedonian chanters, too. I have seen pipers using this system with Croatian (gajde) and Bulgarian (gajda) chanters.

  • @nemethmik Hi!I want to do this with bulgarian gaida.Where can i find this box?May be this man Istvan Adorjan can make it?May be you can give me his coordinates?Or some another way to do it exist(by myself for example or someone).Thank you!

  • The unit supports the "Highland/Scottish" bagpipe system and fingering. The Hungarian chanter has the same number of holes as a Scottish chanter and the spacing is approximately the same as a D or C Scottish Smallpipe (SSP) chanter. The unit can be used in any pitch, therfore, it may be used as a practice/electronic SSP chanter.

  • that's brilliant, miklos! Does the flea hole give semitones tho? Couldn't work it out from this video. The Budgie certainly seemed to enjoy it though lol all the best, hope to meet again some time. Donald L

  • Hi Donald! Haven't seen you for ages. The fleahole gives the semitones, yes. The only note that cannot be produced with this electric chanter is G#, which can be done by half-covering the back/high A hole. A number of old and excellent Hungarian pipers used half covering holes extensively, this cannot be simulated with tis device. All the Best, Miki

  • ok cool. how much? does he accept paypal?

  • oohhh canaries ,budgies behind sceene ı ıntrest more than this

  • Formidable ! Quelle bonne idée.

Les oiseaux eux aussi jouent très bien !

  • Hol szerezhetek ilyet?

  • put some distortion on that bitch and join a hungarian death metal band

  • two thumbs up! ! !

  • sic man!!!!!!! great vid!!!

  • Szép munka!

  • that's fantastic!

    is it in production?

  • great idea for practice! and if there is a plug for headphones, bagpiper's neighbours will be completely happy! :)

  • Yes the box has two outputs: headphones and lines. With the lines output it can be connected to an amplifier and can be used in a folk-rock band. The hole thing can be hidden into a bag and would look like a real bagpipe. :)

  • cool stuff!!!

  • Ingenious....

  • Great! how much and where to buy one?

Also great for bagpipeplayers with lungcancer...

  • Great! How much and where to buy it?

  • NICE!

  • thats awesome, how long did it take to build?

  • Very interesting! :D

  • :)

Unfortunately he (our budgerigar) is dead now. He had been with us for 7 years.

  • i got a budgerigar to, and he is talking with the bird on the background. they are great pets

  • This is nothing like a bagpipe, its in tune!

  • long live the Bagpipe!

  • good imitation of real stuff.

  • That's brilliant!

  • i think, electric pipes are cool but i prefer the "real" one, it needs more sill but sounds much better

  • But u cant play a real one on the bus now can you;)

But anyways I rather give up my electric then my real one..

  • Well, at least I think it's brilliant!

  • and where does one buy one?

  • Contact the guys at afolk dot hu. They speak English.

  • szerbusz. en is dudaszok a skoti dudat. hol tudom en meg venni egy magyar dudat? vagy egy electromos dudat?

where can i buy a duda electric? or even a duda? thx

  • hey we practice on a chanter to get fingering right, but that is still nothing like playing the pipes, but we still practice like that, i think its a fantastic idea, just like electric drums, theyre nothing like the realy thing but great for practicing especially if people around you dont like much noise

  • thats cool!

  • I think that this is the type of bagpipe Stephen Hawking could play...They even sound alike (oooooohhh)! It would be a very interesting instrument to play...but i would rather stick to blowing into my goatskin! I say...its better to kill a goat, than to kill tradition!

But im very interested, i must say!

  • This is not a music instrument, this is device to help learning or practicing tunes. You can use it with a headset and you can practice fingering while the rest of the family is sleeping.

  • Wonderful Idea, cuz instrument is loud lol

  • what is the point of that ? Is plugging something into the wall cooler then the original thing? No...

  • Well it doesnt allow you to use your breath so you can play longer. You can also play while sitting at a table. And you can do all the neat things he just did. It's very convenient if your a piper.

  • Its not very hard to make an electric version of any instrument but i just think its not the same as the real thing...
