  • It's good to see thinking out of the box rather than the same tired old ideas with new paint.

  • this is what GM came up with after spending $14Billion Bailout money we gave them

    a 2 wheeled electric wheelchair

a $100 bicycle can do the same thing it does

  • Tell me "are we there yet" one more @#$% time.

  • I like the 2012 Pelosi GTxi SS/RT Sport Edition... its awesome (copy and paste the name) and check it out youtube.... the motor was designed by Al Gore!

  • The more I look at this early prototype PUMA based on its URBAN application, the better I think the idea actually is.

The average car only has one occupant at any given time. You can park 6 PUMAs in the space of ONE regular car and get 2 PUMAs side by side in each car lane putting a HUGE dent in congestion commute times, fuel use & pollution.

It can go 35 miles at 35-mph for only $0.35 cents!

This may be the answer once this early prototype is "fleshed-out" with full body, doors etc.

  • in my opinion this thing, the puma, looks dumb, and poinless, waste of money and time, i wouldnt get one if i could afford it

  • ☻/

/▌This Is Bob Copy And Paste him

/ \ So he can take over youtube

  • Get that shit out of the bike lane!

  • are they going to make a special "American" version so we can stuff our fat asses into it?

  • @MrPisster its called a range rover

  • A 2-man wheelchair...

What will the geniuses at GM think of next!

  • LOL! I love the sarcasm!

  • unless it can go 100 MPH I'm not impressed.

  • ☻/

  • is it true that it is impossible to die/devastate on this set.

  • does anyone else just see an electric wheelchair?

  • theticklemonstar:

    I agree.

I even think people use regular car for that purpose. Some people use the car just to get to a convenient store 1/4 mile away.

Car is a gas-powered wheel chair nowadays.

  • Watching that thing turn around, I kept thinking it would at some point take off and swirl in circles through the air like the gondola of an amusement park ride.

  • Your taxpayer bailout dollars leisurely at work...How can anyone at GM or Segway be so stupib as to think this is a good idea? And right at the intro to the NY auto show? THis just serves to make GM look that much MORE out of touch....THEY REALLY ARE OUT OF TOUCH....NOT JUST GM...FORD AND CHRYSLER TOO!

  • make a scooter for pity's sake. No complicated electronics to fail and dump you in the street.

  • Much worse: No all-out- braking possible.

  • daam that is dangerous for sure, can u imagine what would happen if it ever get into a collision with a real car....

  • gm might be bankrupted before they even release this

  • "So how did your friend die?"

"He was driving a P.U.M.A. when he was rear ended by a 5th grader on a tricycle."

  • Why not just use a scooter??? They are economical and fun to ride. Plus you can supe them up and give em more power. If your going to sell this you better put fenders on it. That guys coat could easily get caught, not to mention his hands ...

  • Not to mention it's too damn cold to drive in the winter!

  • it says experimental they are obviously not going to sell it like that, that goes for the one talking about the cold in winter as well.

  • So..are you saying it probably will have a heater?... I just seen the same thing with four wheels today its enclosed and has a place for groceries...Its made by Club Car and they have sold them for years.

  • i want a puma

  • GM and Segways F.U.C.K.U.P. in action

  • Call me crazy, but what was wrong with 4 wheels in the first place?

    what a waste of time

  • I want to see a 35mph crash test.

  • bien qué avance =) ,camarógrafos no tienen idea la parte mecánica interesante y no capturan.

  • This is not a safe electric car, look how the peoples body parts stick out. Imagine that in a collision, lol.

  • chances are it will ahve a warning, after that it no loinger matters if its safe or not.

For a better and proven vehicle, do a search on Youtube for 'monotracer'.

As for WTF is the point, well, if GM can get away with massive layoffs and corporate welfare, then we all can, because we paid for it.

Do a You Tube search for 'Steady State Economics'.

  • what the fuck is the point of all this?... talk about lazy... are they gonna install this shit in a mall at the front for every fat fuck that cant shop anymore??! sorry to be offensive but DUDE what a waste of TIME/MONEY/IDEA UGH....

  • .. why even have seat belts on that anyway? if that was designed to be on the road in the first place with other vehicles let me tell you how that seat beat is gonan save you.... *insert graphic death here*

    / \ GAAAAY

  • What part of experimental is hard for you retards to grasp this is a prototype!!!

  • ☻/

    / \ man I love bob

  • what a peice of shit.the driver has his shoulder jamed underneath the side rail and his arm and shoulder is esposed.nice for an accident landing on the side...shite

  • Its a fuckin retard mobile. what the fuck is the point.

  • you the the ceo in the paasenger seat lloking extremely uncomfortable... he's glad he has a big ass hummer parked around the corner, this is going to be GM's death blow. No bailout after this crap! They might merge with Hyundai! Ha ha ha, Hyundai, like Sunday!

  • the point is a small, semi fast vehicle for less populated area. and soon for high populated area

that are good for environment. easy to use.

    ect

  • thats called a bike a problem thats been solved a long time ago...F it lets slap something on it to make it run on something because i am far to lazy to use my god given legs !

Bob says: Run after em and push the old rich guys over.

  • could work as an electric wheel-chair technology, it's way more versatile than most electric wheel-chairs.

Is it supposed to be driven on the road or on the sidewalk or what? Cause I doubt it's safe for the road haha you're probably safer getting hit by a car on foot rather than riding on this thing :P

    Anyway it's just a prototype.

  • good idea for airport!!!

  • id take tha shit of a ramp son

  • its a golf cart lol, thats safe.

  • Only a vehicle that can be used on the highway will ever be successful. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to buy one vehicle for city driving and another for highway.

  • too fast and big for a sidewalk and too small and slow for the road. how is this actually supposed to get you to where you need to go?

  • Looks like gabage can with wheels... er, bigger wheels. The idea is interesting though. It's a compact electric vehicle that either carries 2 people or 1 and some groceries. I can see a battery operated Smart car in the near future, if it doesn't already exist.

  • This is basically a covered wheelchair for two people. Crap.

  • That thing doesn't even have enough space for a backpack.

  • wow...went from a standing segway to a sitting one....makes people even more lazy.....GENIUS!!

  • Exactly my thoughs. Not only can we humans not be bothered to walk around for our selves anymore, but we can't even be bothered to stand up while being transported to our destination. The future from Wall-E is looking more and more possible.

  • my thoughts exactly..... :D

  • that guy looked like he was going to shit himself.

Gm execs are going to be jumping off bridges when this fails.

  • bahahahahahahah what the fuck is this shit

  • We will invent it and the japanese will perfect it

  • HAHAHHA gm really is a fucking joke

  • oh come on, GM, are you serious???

  • lol is this what they spent all the bail out money on lol Im so glad i dont live in the us

  • This is the silliest looking contraption ever built by man.

HAHAAHHAHAHAHA this is a joke right?

  • Remember the movie dumber and dumber. The part with the moped? Yeah this is it.

  • Those side bars are going to cause serious neck damage in a crash.

  • Somebody with access to CGI graphics PLEASE make a video depicting this garbage can getting plowed by either another garbage can or a real car..I wanna see a wreck!...Come on..Somebody sneek one of the videos from the lab, that shows this thing falling over....you KNOW you want to...You'll be a hero on YouTube..Let's ee one in a WRECK!

  • So I guess mall cops can now have partners???

That's the stupids thing I've ever seen. What prompted GM to get involved with this? It must be the insane popularity of the original Segway. PUMA please! Should have called it the "Please drive if you never ever want to get laid again"

  • Looks like a Disney Haunted house mansion ride car.

  • So where would I put my purse? Oh around my neck.

  • GM's gotta do better than that. What's the average vehicle get nowadays, 25mpg avg? Remember the days when gas was 1$ a gallon? What's it now, near 4? Show me a car that can balance that inequality out, show me a viable 100mpg car and then we can talk. Till then, you fail, 40mpg just ain't cutting it. Come on automakers, screw big oil and impress us, maybe then you'll get our money.

  • People

    Unfortuatly

    Meeting

    Asphalt

Thats what happened when the Segway ran low on battery power. it tipped over.

  • why would it be unfortunate again?

it definitely would've made this video better.

  • They've been working on this for 18 MONTHS, so maybe you'd better call it the "Bush Cadillac".

  • Sigh....what is the point of this thing? 18 months to build a wheelchair? Why not spend the R&D on building a nice 100hp per liter 4 cyl. The hondas guys will give you some good press. And roll the colbolt off a cliff and stop pawning off shitty opals off on us as new cars Cmon!!!.

  • God What Is Wrong With Those Two Jokers

There Guys Suck Now They Even Suck More

Our TATA Cars Are Better Than GM

  • Re-marketing a failed product by adding a seat, making it more expensive and calling it 'new' is not my idea of good thinking. If a small vehicle is what you want, a motorcycle already exists. This is just someone trying to re-sell a product that folks didn't want by throwing some new paint on it.

  • This is a glorified wheelchair, which is also good.

Wheelchair bound person can now travel around quicker and bring a friend along.

    Cool.

  • The only death trap that our liberal, limo driving government leaders will let us peons drive in the very near future. Obama, Pelosi, Gore et al. will turn America into a third world bicycle riding country.

  • it would be retarded to use that if u can walk and everyone else is walking

  • Hey "tripperboot", if you want one, they will sell you one for thousands of dollars. Let us know where you'll be driving it, so we can all sit back and laugh as you drive by at a few MPH. I know "YOU" think they look cool, but "I" sure don't. The thing looks like a "hamster ball" for human-degenerates, and sounds like it has "square" wheels as it goes by.

  • Segway's are the most ridiculous brainchild ever. The geek w/5-0'clock shadow driving the "suit" is just screaming for his Paxil; it takes one who is "not all there" to imagine these things are cool. This shows how the USA is being lost to PC; with retarded egg-heads, boasting MBAs and PHDs from Harvard, etc.: Most possessing less common-sense than they had when born: I think I saw this proto-type, circa 1970, on Disneyland's Monsanto. Skateboards are genius, Segways are boner-ville!

  • Its a Segway with a roll cage -- a contraption built by nerds for nerds. It would be a death trap on the streets. It will never sell. Besides, any guy foolish enough to be seen in such a contraption would never get laid again in his life.

  • Where would you use this thing? On the sidewalk? In some areas you'd have a hard time finding sidewalks that are wide enough to maneuver. On the street? This thing would never pass safety standards and be street legal. EPIC FAIL!

  • i dont know what you two are on about, that looks awesome. cuts emissions, cuts production costs, cuts consumer costs, less cars on the road, and agile. what more could you want? it runs on electricity for heavens sake.

    i want one.

  • honestly I'd rather walk the orgional segway was something but this is not ready to replace a car yet

  • This is going to have the same problems as the Segway. No one wants to be on the street in one of these, as you'll get flattened. No one wants these on the sidewalk, as it's a hazard to pedestrians.

Basically, GM wants to prove to the gubmint that no one wants an electric car. Their solution: produce a crappy electric car that no one wants.

If you want to put your life at risk but save the planet at the same time, ride a bike. If you want to get around the city, walk or take public transit.

  • I almost believe it. There is no way in hell they think people want that.

  • No...it runs on Imafagdiom, which is apparently all too plentiful at GM these days...How much money did GM pay to Segway to embarrass themselves by being associated with GM for ANYTHING these days?..really....If this is not the dumbest little South Park pederass unicycle wannabe, then I don't know what is...GM? ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY???????

  • tripperboot wrote, i dont know what you two are on about, that looks awesome. cuts emissions, cuts production costs, cuts consumer costs .

Yes, and after the inevitable collision with something much heaver, cuts all brain activity.

  • Ill ride a bike thanks. Im not fat.

  • This is possibly the worst attempt at free press that anyone has ever dreamed up...Someone at GM thought this was a good idea? To be mocked on National TV for spending Corporate R&D efforts on a one man-baby stroller? How about getting out and freaking walking to where you need to get? GM is soooo screwed up I cannot stand it any longer...Just DIE already. F#$% Gm and Chrysler, and Ford is on notice!

  • great now I have to watch out for those on the sidewalk 2

  • no you won't ...If an American Auto manufacturer is involved, the base price will be $8000, and therefore, none will be sold...What a piece of shit...

  • man, its so hard to watch out for faster moving objects.. its like people are running past you.. i bet they don't have running people where you live..
