This was the only Snuffy Smith cartoon I saw wherein Spark Plug was depicted as Barney Google's race horse-which he was in the original comic strip from 1922 to around 1931.
The Feather Merchants were regulars in the Barney Google/Snuffy Smith comic strip for a while during the late 1930s.
The Kentucky Fedora? This name sure was like the races Sparky was in during the 1920s...The Brown Derby, the T-Bone Stakes.:-)
@RJRanke - I also noticed that it had to have been the only Snuffy cartoon with no mention of Paramount Pictures at the end. With Jack Kinney at the helm and not Seymour Kneitel, that would have to explain it. (I was sure that I saw ONE Snuffy as a kid w/ no Paramount mentioned, but I could not pin it down....this had to have been the one. There were a few Beetle Baileys and almost ALL the Krazy Kats like that.)
sooo great...thanks!!!!
