  • thx dude i havnt played this in a long time and i forgot how to kill them all :P

  • Epona has nothing on Agro... And Link would never climb a giant... Ever...

  • How is that Unusual ? isn't that how your supposed to kill him

  • does anyone know what he calls to the horse?

  • @wonkabo "Agro". It's the horse's name.

  • @wonkabo

Argo... like the Argonauts, the greek heroes who accompanied Jason to recover the golden fleece ^_^

  • Well played sir.

  • *looks at the colossus* @_@ "AGRO!"

  • And that gentlemen is how you bring fat women down when they sexually harass you.

  • @crappystuff1 they already have its called ICO the sequal to this game sotc is the Prequal to ICO

  • They already made a sequel, it is called 'Eco' and it came out before this game did. Thumbs up so that everyone can be troll'd.

  • @JackMcBama its caled ico it was te first one shadow of the colossus was second and soon the last gardien

  • @MsRunions yes but sotc is the prequal to ICO

  • I don't think they should make a sequel. This game is beautiful o it's own, I think a sequel would sorta ruin that.

    Although, that's my opinion.

  • @crappystuff1: Actually, I don't think I'd like a sequel.

This is one of those games that holds up so well on it's own. It doesn't need one.

The Last Guardian is enough. And that's not really a sequel, I don't think...

  • @crappystuff1 no, maybe a remake (its not called remake) but still, a sequel would be fucked.

  • @eresunaperra21 There's a remake comin' up, if you're interested and haven't heard of it.

  • @mimisezlol Yep, Sony 'sclusive

  • Imagine if he survived it all and the chick broke up with him :P

  • nossa muito loko esse jogo esse grandão ai me deu trabalho

    kkkkkkkkkkkk

    mas salvei kkkkkkkk

  • @juliana18113 Eu consigo com uma mão nas costas(sério) ^^

  • no matter where this guy grabs...HE STILL HANGS ON!!! lol sorry he grabbed a spot on the boss that looked like it shouldve knocked him off when shaken...but thats just me

  • "Please do not use any part of this video without proper credit given to me and without giving me prior notice." LOL!

  • @54013962 This video was put up awhile ago while I was back in high school and learning about copyright law. Haven't modified the description since. The disclaimer is kind of stupid... I might as well remove it.

  • i feel sad when the bosses die :(

  • @TheCroc511 mee too

  • It's not SOOO unusual...

  • omg want this on XBOX360!!!!!

  • @MrNclaw WHY WOULD YOU WANT THIS FOR THE 360?! So that way Microsoft will ruin the game by adding too much emphasis on playing the game with other people on XBOX Live?!

  • @renovateddestruction sony fanboy? sign i wont ever bother to explain myself...

  • @renovateddestruction And how is this exactly ruining the game? It's not like there going to remove single player.

  • Unusual? Honestly, I remember killing him the same way back in the 5th grade.

  • @clone104d r u also a delta force sniper with a doctor's double degree? ppl would say anything these days

  • @MrNclaw

What? That's an unusual way to assert that I'm lying. Yes, I killed the monster this way. I read it in a guide a bought with my pocket money. It's a small coincidence. If I said something like, "Woah, I beat him the exact same way, in exactly 2:54 seconds, with the same game disk as you!", you could say that. No, I killed a boss the same way. Chill bro.

  • @clone104d Im sorry

  • What was unusual about that? That's how I've seen the other colossi get killed

  • Not really an unusual kill. Slightly unusual climb, but quite a normal kill.

  • Is that really unusual? I didn't knew he would lift his front paws, so I climbed on top of him that way my first time =p

  • his sound make me sad ... poor animal . !!

  • Wait, this isn't Starcraft! WTF am I watching and why?

  • is their a reason why this guy is killing giants?

  • @cloud28740 to bring back to life his love

  • @cloud28740 he's hungry

  • The reason it's an unusual kill is that he jumped onto it's tail, usually you would climb up the leg you shoot. It's a rather impressive jump tbh.

  • why do u die evry time u kill a guy

  • @2727rickyd

It's part of the storyline, so don't read on, as this is a

    ***SPOILER***

Each of the 16 colossi are fragments of the deity/demon (difficult to say), Dormin. When one is killed, that fragment enters you, and you pass out and are teleported to the central temple (saves you a trip back in game, too). With all 16 killed and absorbed, things get...hectic.

  • wow that's unusual? that's the way i did it the first time i beat the game. damn to think i could have did it easier xD

  • @Zabuza061 Done it easier?

  • this is what i love about this game, that are so many ways to kill these things, i never even thought about doing it this way. Reminds me of #8 which you can kill in 1min.

  • Wow, nice shot in the hoof! I love SotC

  • I see no unusuality here. I was expectin that he'd fligh you into the air, and you'd land a jump stab. Or somethin along those lines.

  • Why the fuck does your character sound like a dude but is a chick?

  • @calvin0315 because its a dude

  • @silentkiller9000 surprisingly no, Shadow of the Colossus's gameplay is just amazingly fluent. I guess it is partly due to the whole gunplay part that would have been unbearable with such inertia but still this part of the game is simply crazy.

  • I've just seen NO OTHER GAME that made horseplay that fluent, real and precise ... From Red Dead Redemption to Assassin's Creed, Horses have nerver been so real.

    Perfect Game.

  • @vovankevin um im sure red dead redemtion kicks crap out of horse reality

  • Absolutely LOVED this game.

  • My heart always starts beating out of my chest when I'm about to run out of grip. Love this game.

  • The music when you climb on it is so epic.

  • Nice jump and stab on the head as you get there. That was skill. 2Thumbs up.

  • you just killed my favorite collosus nooooooooooooo lol great game cool video keep it up

  • NEEED A REMAKE OF SHADOW OF COLOSSUS

  • @esquilo56100 The final Guardian is coming soon.

  • This is the unusual way? This is how I did it when I went through the game, haha.

  • This dude can really win the show Wipeout.

  • Agro !!

  • LOLOL

The first Colossus took my an hour and forty minutes to kill.

Partly because I was in awe of the size, but mostly because I kept falling off Dx

I loved this game! I just hope/wish/pray that there will be a total kickass sequel!

Especially with the amazing graphics and game engines out there.

If they create a sequel, there is no question to buy it or not.

Multiplayer would be kind of interesting :O

  • @JShawtyKim They are making a sequel, but not a direct one. This game is actually a sequel. The games in the series never ever have multyplayer.

  • @madcowyup

    So they're making a prequel o-o

But I mean just think of a Shadow of Colossus Multiplayer!

You have to hit certain spots simultaneously etc.....

This game is too good to end with just one game.

  • @JShawtyKim 4 internet heroes attempting to take down a building sized monstor?....... wheres my controller?

  • Quadratus is one of my favorite Colossi... He's just so huge..... and Epic! XD

  • XD ajajajja lol tumb up ;D if u tried to run away from that D: black tentacles . . .that muthafuckas >:(

  • I love Both SOTC and Zelda....but they are both 2 very very different games that i connected with on an emotional level.

SOTC made me feel terrible every time i defeated a colossi. I had a feeling i was doing something wrong but did it anyway. I would explore the vast landscap thinking i'd run into some smaller creatures (even though i knew there weren't any) and i got an eery feeling being out in teh wide open.

The bosses were epic and the story line was heartbreaking. I lurved it.

  • I hate how you can't use the rewards in time trial on other time trial colossi.

  • wow u awsome!!!

  • what was so unusual about that?

  • damn, i need to start using Agro more often.

  • @pyromaster2 I know whenever I see a Colossi I jump of the horse like "Run Agro! Save yourself!" ;)

I always feel kinda sad when a Colossi dies.

  • I always liked this one. Like... how it echoes when it makes it's.... colossus noise. Epic.

  • Me playing this game is worst than colossus shit=/

  • beep beep beep (colossus falls) yyaarrrgghh hahaha

  • I own the game and i say: H*** YES!!!!

  • nice! I like the jump stab. For Celosia, you can do it even better since you're jumping down from a higher platform. Only takes like 2 stabs to kill it that way. I call it "Avenger Style" haha

  • @naitodetsu - actually, I've always wanted to know how on earth you do the jump stab! It would've been very helpful in time attack...

  • just in case anyone cant see it, its unusual because he climbs straight from the things back instead of climbing up one of its legs

  • I havent played this game so i was wondering what hapend at the end of this video when the colossus was killed? Did the main character died or was it something else?

  • @kramasanas No, as this game isn't very good about explaining things, he doesnt die, that happens after every kill and it ultimatley leads up to something at the end, which i won't spoil

  • why would you compare this to zelda,i loved this game because of the Epic fights and the immensity of them.. it just seemed like you were against the impossible.

  • was that a jump stab? I didn't know you could do that.

  • @Redskizzers Jump and press R1+triangle to jump-stab. It also works while falling. It can be hard to aim but you deliver full damage in one quick hit.

  • this game is difficult..

  • XD try Hard Mode before saying it's difficult.

Great vid Rebel, and that is a pretty unusual way of killing Quad o.o

  • Whats unusual?

  • btw, so that isn't how I wa supposed to kill it then? Heard I should have shot it in the face, but this is how we kill colossi in texas! (Not that I live in texas, I'm swedish)

  • @TeamReptileStudios being that i live in texas, id say the way we do it in texas is jumpin halfway up its leg from agro, then hightailing our asses the rest of the way up. took around 2-4 minutes last time i did it

  • What I'd like to know is where every1 finds out the names of the colossi? I had no idea they even had names, but this one seems to be called Quadratus?

  • 1:38 that leaping stab was great lmao

  • This game is fun, it actually requires you to think how to kill the colossus. And when I first tried it , it took a while though haha..

  • @deathblade22 Ye, I got stuck on the first one for a pretty long time, the other ones went quicker, since I had got an idea of the game by then

  • @deathblade22

i no ye i always had to wayt 4 the clues wen i cudnt figuure out what to do

but half the time they didnt help either lol

  • wow now that's skill

  • tidus agreed they are freinds

  • WTF is so unusual about this kill?

  • @SlaughterMeister its the way he got onto the colossus, ive never seen it done that way. normally you fire an arrow at 2 legs, then when he is recovering, you climb onto them, climb up his side and then get him.

  • @DarthRazac1 If you say so, I don't think it's all that strange.

  • @SlaughterMeister The whole jumping on his tail trick. The standard method is going in front of it, it rears to stomp you, you shoot a front toe, it collapses on that leg, you climb it, climb along the side to the butt weak point, and from then on it's the same.

  • poor colossus... they are friends, no enemies... so sad...

  • this kicks ass i cant tell wether i like this or zelda

  • It is fun but think about it... Zelda has a LONGER story line and its more of a mind games this is figure out the creatures weak points and then you get to kill it. With zelda you have to find the creature go thru a series of tests and THEN get to the mini boss ( to main boss ) and you have to do a series of other things to get to the other dungeons!

  • I wouldn't compare it to Zelda. They're very different experiences. And Zelda has a really crappy storyline. The Zelda puzzles are also all very easy to figure out (and they keep getting easier as they make more games).

I like this game more than Zelda. Just a personal opinion. I find this game is a great example of show, don't tell. It also has many small touches that show the developers were thinking about everything.

I can understand people who don't like this game. It's not for everyone.

  • @Rebel581 indeed, zelda does have a crappy story line (save the princess and stop gannon/evil person, a story much like mario) But Shadow of the Colossus also has a crappy story, which you described as "Show, dont tell". Save some girl the player knows nothing about and kill a bunch of Colossi cause some voice tells you to. Dont get me wrong, i love both the Zelda series and SotC, both have equally great gameplay (though different styles of gameplay). Stories could be drawn out better though >.>

  • All story lines sound crappy if you try to make them out in one sentence.

Guy see girl they love eachother and kill themselves for each other.. BAM romeo and juliet.

  • @DemonDZ well the problem with what you stated is that SotC has very little to no backstory, or story of any kind other than the voice tells you he can resurect the girl if you destroy the 16 colossi, then u do (no story after the start/before the end other than fighting and teleporting), he takes over you, forcing shamanguy to seal you. Zelda on the otherhand, fits what you stated, i summarized it in one sentence, but im just giving the gist to all zelda games, not one particular game, like SotC

  • @CaptDrahcir I think it's about psyche. some people fill in the blanks for themselves... they raise questions... Why does he want to save the girls so desperately? It's the same kind of people who get hyped about stuff because only very little information has been given or leaked. I guess you just need a bit more to relate to.

  • @CaptDrahcir I havn't played ICO, but apparently it's what happened before Shadow of the Collosus, i've only heard that though, so, it could be wrong. V.v Though i've seen SHadow of the Collosus called ICO 2. :P

  • @andrewlol379 they're both part of the Team Ico series, and Shadow of the Colossus is the prequel(made after Ico).

  • @Rebel581 and yet......Zelda Ocarina of time got a perfect 10

  • @UltimaWeapon786 scores are not your self opinion are they? the talk is about thier opinions for the game not about scores that some game critic gave

  • @GMAriadne lol I know, I still love both games no matter what!!!!!!

  • @Rebel581 you were right man this game is not for everyone.....A.K.A retards

  • @Rebel581 very easy? Have you played the water temple?

  • @SeizureBassist

the only reason the water temple was annoying was because of gameplay flaws, not the actual temple itself.

  • @mrtekbunny Try going through the temple without a guide. You completely missed my point.

  • @SeizureBassist

well, i mean i did go through the temple without a guide, so i guess i cant really see your point. =-(

im not gonna say it was easy peasey or anything like that. but if youve played many more zelda games, youll know that the puzzles have been toned down, almost to the point of gimmickyness.

again, i loves me some zelda (wind waker and LTTP ftw), but yeah, it is far from the hardest game out there. (if any zelda deserves an award for being hard as hell it was zelda 2.)

  • @Rebel581 not ENTIRELY true. they have three things in common. 1) you ride a horse 2) they both have expansive, open wolrds. and 3) ...you ride a horse while using a BOW :P

  • @soycreator And a sword, as of Twilight Princess.

  • @Mattmeo11 seriously!? To compare Zelda to Shadow of the Colossus.... is like comparing Michelangelo's statue of David and Da Vinci's "The Last Supper" Both are beautiful works of art, but one is a statue, one is a painting!

  • @Mattmeo11

The only similarities between the two games, is they both have pointy ears

  • @Mattmeo11 I love this game, and it could have possibly been better than Zelda if there were sequels and/or prequels that had the same concept and gameplay. Unfortunately, there are way more Zelda games, and I have spent much more time playing all of them together than SoC. Therefore, Zelda is the favorite of the two.

Also, I think Zelda's storyline is better than SoC's. There is just more to the story. This one is a very simple hero's journey, with one plot twist.

  • @coughmist

Shadow of the Colossus isn't a story within itself. It's not a "simple Hero's journal", its much more than that. Have you ever played ICO? Shadow of the Colossus is the prequel to that. It tells the story of how the horned children came to be. This is game is only but a fraction of the true story behind Team Ico's trilogy. The final game in the trilogy is The Last Guardian. I suggest you look into the story a bit more. It is much better than that of Zelda.

  • @Mattmeo11 I agree with Rebel581's response, you really can't compare this to Zelda. The point of this game was to take a minimalist approach to the adventure/exploration game genre. The giant collossi ARE the dungeons in the game, as well as the bosses.

  • @Mattmeo11

    Two words, SCREW and ZELDA.

One game in the Zelda series will never actually outrange this game.

  • @Mattmeo11

the problem is that you are thinking of these too much in a literal videogame sense. as in weak points, kill, bosses, minibosses... the convention was MEANT to be defied here.

also, zeldas storyline is NOT longer. the gameplay itself is. check this out. you are the hero of time. gannon steals princess. you need to rescue her. thats it (sans a few zelda titles). thats "the story." its not vague, its not clever, and its put right in front of your face. they arent comparable.

  • @Mattmeo11

also, as far as "mind games" i assume you are speaking of puzzle sections, as SOTC has many more mind games than all zelda titles combined. and yes, zelda DOES have many more puzzle segments to pad out the gametime. if it didnt all you would do would be running into a temple and destroying a boss.

of course if any game did that, they would have to make their bosses more meaningful and epic to make up for the lack of gameplay. oh wait...

  • how can you compare it to zelda. besides the look of the game it's COMPLETELY different.

  • @DivineBanana

It's true, people make too many comparisons with what they already know and spoil the new experiences they can have.

  • im just saying i liked this storyline and gameplay better

  • my names pedro XD

i have a unusual way to beat the 12 colossus.

shot at the corn(ima brazilian dont know how to say chifre in english)and run to the head jump on it and make your waY TO THA CROWN

  • lol 0:05 , RUN DAMMIT!!!

  • this game is 20 times better than legend of zelda

  • I wouldn't go that far, but it is a fun and underated game.

  • where's the unusual?

  • He is saying "Agro" which is the name of his horse.

  • best ps2 game ever

  • The Zelda series need to learn from this game. lol?

  • too many peoples minds would quite literally be blown.

  • Jump Down Stabbing makes TAing these things so much easier I swear to god.

  • tahts actually been known for quite some time, hell I did that when it first came out, so sry your not the first

  • Okay... where is the unusuality?

  • @maimere Well you're "meant" to climb up its legs after shooting its feet.

  • @maimere He reversed the regular thought process....so it's a little bit unusual.... to see someone do that....

  • @maimere You are generally suppose to wait until he stands on his back legs, leaving the bottom of the front legs exposed and you shoot it. Aiming for the back legs while walking is unusual (I didn't even know you could do that)

  • @daftrok Oh, okay - see, I've been doing it like this the whole time xD I never knew he HAD a hoof attack.

  • really? i never did it like that

  • i already figured this out and anyone that wants to should check out my drawings.

  • catapult from tale to head and while you fall point your sword towards him and stick it into his head right when you land.

  • any one knows where can i get/download a PC version, someone probobly made it whit emulator or something

  • Do not touch the skin walk on the bone the bone has no feelers on it so walk on the bone

  • I'd like to think I'm pretty good at this game too ;o

I've beaten all the colossi on Time attack, most of them on my 1st go, not including number 16 FFS!

I should try it on hard mode now.....but then, there's more to this game than challenging yourself.

  • What about secret items.

The last item from Hard Time Attack is th Sword of the Queen from ICO.

  • Yeah that's what I mean, I've completed the time attacks on hard mode as well.

  • Dude! You are so good at this game!

  • lol in the begining, when he first called agro it sounded like agro roared o.o

  • very good

  • thats cool!!! another way to kill him great

  • man it always made me feel bad when i killed these guys :(

  • fuck da geyser lol

  • So there is another way to kill him? Didn't notice.

Anyway, a tip is to let go of the colossus' fur when ur energy is low, u can try standing, or sitting, at the colossus to gain energy.

  • the hell? how was this unusual i beat that boss like that

  • oh my god, i forgot how amazing this game is. why did i ever sell my ps2!?

  • yea thats the usual way, but you can sometimes get one in like this vid if you have good aim and timing

  • Just so you know, you could probably shave a little time off by stabbing right after he goes, "Hyuh" or whatever. When you stab, when he makes that grunt kinda noise, you can stab right after and still get the full damage. Great video :D
