Yeah, on hi-def TV/computer monitor you can see the $3300 on the lady's scoreboard. If you were watching this episode at the time it was originally aired (ie - for the first time), you wouldn't have seen the mistake. I have heard that a LOT of older movies are horrible to watch on DVD/HD, because it used to be easy to "hide things". But now, you can pause and get a crystal clear image. Ironically, the place where this is most obvious is in Faces Of Death, where they had zero budget. Just sayin.
@ashcarl116: It wasn't pre-written when I was on Jeopardy, and that was in 2004. They did tell us to write that down as soon as Alex had completed the clue and then contemplate the remainder of the answer.
@pegasigirl2010 I've never played on the show myself, but a person did tell me this "before the clue is given contestants are to write down first part to save time"
A while ago, Jeopardy used those same six categories on Double Jeopardy, and I think it was during either Ken Jennings' reign or the Ultimate Tournament of Champions.
@BriSchwa82 yes I know that was his downfall, trying to get the highest score possible. god in enormous lock, he SHOULDV'E bet 15399, if he was going for large score without being caught.
In June 2009, someone actually had the audacity to write as their answer for Final Jeopardy, "...who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?"
The reference was not acknowledged by Alex Trebek.
@SamonMarquis thats because it was far from the first time. quite a few did that when they didnt know the answer, he acknowledged many. Now. I am told, contestants are asked not too.
oh course the joke is that cliff did so awesome(score would be 44 000 present-day). but in the end he bet everything (I guess going for the record) and failed the final question! and one of two opponets still had money and won. I feel very sorry
@IsmaelandLugi21 Please watch the whole segment and understand it. The Agnes' answer was "Who are [names of three people]?" and Cliff's was "Who are three people who never been in my kitchen?"
21 hours ago u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murdered in 1945. her body was not fund until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos 30 minutes the dead girl will appear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you
this was classic episode. I like at the end when Alex Trebek shows up at Cheers and makes up the story, because Cliff scares him and Norm says he does me as well.
A few years later on the real "JEOPARDY!", a contestant who, in the lead, bet nothing, wrote "Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen" and Alex Trebek really cracked up!
Did anyone notice that Cliff's answer was revealed on his screen before Alex Trebek mentioned it? And then it was erased, only to be revealed again after Alex took Cliff's jacket off and read it.
I wish the last scene in the show would have been uploaded too. I love it when Trebeck walks into Cheers unexpectantly and tells Cliffs he agrees with him and that he will quit Jeopardy because of it. Cliff talks him out of it and thinks he has saved Jeopardy. Trebeck was only covering up for accidentally coming into Cheers. Trebeck: "You know, Cliff scares me." anorm: 'You too?" Clasic scene.
Classic Cliff Claven! hahahahaha. Did anyone noticed at 4:24 where the womans total went back up to 3300 & not 400. If I were Cliff I would have bid 15000 Even if the woman won & wagered everything (6600) Cliff would still win (7000) .
@mlnreplyer Not to mention the fact that if Cliff won his game, the writers would have been forced to make a one-shot appearance into a five episode story arc until he was either defeated or retired.
I'm So Psyched You Posted This!!! I searched for this randomly and can't believe its up here! This is one of the greatest episodes of any show!! THANK YOU, YOU MADE MY DAY! :)
Great episode. This is Woody Harrelson's second appearance on Jeopardy. If you look at the movie "White Man Can't Jump", you'll see Harrelson's girlfriend in that movie appear on Jeopardy while Harrelson is sitting in the audience.
@OCCORAT not to nitpick but this one would be his first appearance in the audience. This episode was from 1990, WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP came out in 1992. Cheers!
