Nice video. I found this researching an uncle who died on August 22 1944. Since he was in the 9th Infantry Regiment I'm pretty sure this is where met his end.
@analhemorrhage I'm not sure if you've ever visited Brest but right at the foot of one of our bridges which at the time of the war was called Le Pont Nationale(I think) there is a plaque that is dedicated to the men of the 9th Inf Div. What a lot of people don't know is that the battle for Brest was one of the larger battles in WWII. And some of the most amazing stories come from the folks who were here during that time. I'm originally from NYC and I make my home in Brest now.
So well made. These comparsions between ww2 photos and photos from today are just amazing. Makes you realize it didn't look to different back then except for all the rubble of course. It's impressing how you manage to find the excact same spot.
Thanks for this very interesting video. Merci pour cette vidéo très intéressante.
I was born in the hospital we see @ 3:11, I did not know that it was actually built before the war, and that it indeed survived it.

Just watched 'Combat Reels', v2 on Brest. This just adds to 2nd Div. history.
A great post.
