Which is the nuclear power plant McCain was in favor of? Haven't these people had enough with Uranium in the water. Oh yea, this is why we all run to visit Farmington. We need an update Dan, I've been here twice and this is the first I have heard of these plants. Surely not everyone here wants to die a slow and painful death of Cancer of some sort. Really? Come on. Wake up.
@jduvall1971 True. He doesn't seem to know much about the power plants around there. The one near Page, AZ, is NOT "gas fired", it's coal fired. I've researched them.
Not only that, but he was speculating about the need for electric power in NW NM when, in fact, most of the power made there is used elsewhere (which is the case with the APS Four Corners plant near there).
Then he said something about gas prices on the Gulf Coast, which did NOT go up after the spill (I live near the Gulf in FL).
@jduvall1971 I've applied for jobs at both plants you can see in the video, and the one near Page, AZ. I've researched them, as well as others in NM and AZ, and I will soon be working at the PNM San Juan plant, the second one he shows in the vid.
He says something about how "no brown cloud" and they "turned on the scrubbers" at the plants. What he doesn't know is that their pollution controls must ALWAYS be on, and that the absence of a "brown cloud" is probably due to atmospheric conditions.
Down in the vally of Farmington it usually rains while up on top of the mesa it snows. Temp differance, it has to be cold for it to snow down in the vally. Buy the way about 87 miles south minarl rights were accouared in the Crownpoint area and a company wants to mine urainum. Just 30 miles SW of Crownpoint is whare the secound largest rodiocative spill occuared in the 70's. Secound only to the the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Spill in Ukraine. Too much enviromental impac in one area.
