  • Beautiful song!

  • I had unprotected sex with a hooker. Now it burns when i pee.

  • WHY isn't this band appreciated more?? like with songs that strike a nerve like this one, i'm proud as fucking hell to say I'm a Manic Street Preachers fan x

  • gotta appreciate this band so much, their existence is not senseless.

  • it's great when artists make a reinterpretation of religion and and give an opinion but if today's world

  • people keep crashing into James' guitar

  • 1.25 - have a sick bucket handy.

  • manics RULEZZZZZZZ....

  • Temaso!

  • listen people, i had this on tape with a load of smiths, beautiful south, stone roses, the coral, the beatles. all kinds on it and this song is special, anyone who thinks it isnt is a special needs kid

  • One of the best bands of the last 20 years. You can keep your Muses and Coldplays, Radioheads et al.

  • One of the best songs I have heard in a long while!!!!

  • I love this so so much and JDB looks so GORGE in this video

  • Sends such shivers down the spine. Lovely, quiet introspection.

  • I love the cinematography in this video.

One of the best songs, It makes me want have an epiphany whilst having a slow motion shower in the rain

  • their the only band that matters...

  • Beautiful...just like the country which raised them.

  • Did Marilyn Manson stole the line from this song, cause in he's ''Coma White'' there is a line "all the drugs in this world won't save her from herself''? He has justchanged ''us'' to ''her''.

  • @grafiene No, in fact the Manics may have stolen it from Manson.

  • @grafiene actually, since coma white came out in 1999 and this in 2002, he couldn't have stolen the lyrics. and why would msp want to steal marilyn manson lyrics? anyhow, this is an excellent song and 10x better than anything manson could produce.

  • @TheMusicizlife

I dont really care about those lyrics,I was just pointing their similarities out. I disagree on what you wrote about Manson. In my opinion, both Manics and Manson are equally exellent artists.

  • Lush tune.......

All the drugs in the world won't save us from us from ourselves.

  • @muckletoon ..no,but they sure can make us feel good.

  • If there is a God why did he make poop smell so bad? answer me that!!

  • @Cornbag so we wont eat it....or use it as post modern ironic jewellry for superduper models

  • @TheMichaelseymour but dogs have a great sense of smell and i've seen dogs eating poop ;)

  • @Cornbag

Firstly it smells bad because it came out of some persons/animals bowels.

Also, the only reason people dislike the smell so much, is because of a natural disgust for all bodily excretions, this is there because we have evolved to dislike the smell, to prevent consumption of it, because that isn't healthy at all.

If roses smelt like shit since the dawn of time, we wouldn't dislike the smell of the roses as much as we dislike the smell of shit.

Not to say that god exists anyway.

  • I USE THIS AS A CHRISTIAN SONG. PROBABLY ISN'T.

  • @deborahwa too right it's not

  • Bought me "Generation Terrorists" on my 15th birthday, read all the lyrics, heard all the songs hundreds of times. Although I always loved all kinds of eclectic music Manics were the inner voice of my teenage years. Their every record till "Everything Must Go" has a special place in my subconsciousness.

  • How much does Nicky look like Mitch Hedberg in this video?

Great song, sadly overlooked album. Miles above send away the tigers, ugh.

  • what, you mean their greatest hits?

  • yes.

  • @ohfoolishworkerbee I thought it wasnt on an album, might have been on an ep though or am i wrong?

  • How much does Nicky look like Mitch Hedberg in this video?

Great song, sadly overlooked album. Miles above send away the tigers, ugh.

  • @conceil8 so, you cut your cock off?

  • This song makes me wanna move to Wales

  • fail statement

  • @debsco1978

Makes me want to move to James' bedroom.

  • @thebobbseytwins

    That sounds nice too lol

  • These kind of songs make people stop, think and realize 'wtf are we doing?' O_O

  • so wtf are you doing?

  • My family. Related to them and love em to bits what ever the comments!!!!

  • there is no God in the cold human organs that consume the this planet

  • Absolutely loving this! This is one of their greatly underrated tracks.

  • yeh it's one of my faves =)

  • @acupoftea123 this is a fantastic song

  • Lucky you Kardiff fan - a welsh comprehensive is one of the best types of education you can get. Nicky & Richey are such an inspiration & really felt motivated to learn despite the economic issues in Wales @ the time - keep valuing your free education! Private ed: is a complete waste of money & discriminatory - I had it for 4 years & hated every minute of it.

  • Powerful chorus, powerful lyrics!

I hope they come to Chile soon =D

    VIVAN LOS MANICS!

  • wow watta song i luv the Manics and have the proud priviledge of going to the same school as them

  • Awesome song

  • With grace I will recover from how great this song is. Simply timeless and supreme. Can't stop listening to it.

  • realy under rated tune. sounds very new order.

  • was just thinkin that. two great bands

  • I was sat ten yards away from where they were filming this with my girlfriend at the time, on the South Bank of the Thames in London. It was fascinating - I must see if I can post some of my camcorder footage of the day at some point ...

  • This video strikes a chord with me. I think quite a lot of people break down in the modern world, and it seems to them an uncaring place. This point is illustrated very well in the visuals. And indeed, there but by the grace of God go all of us.

  • Stop removeing comments with thumbs down they have a right to there opinion and i have a right to read it and plus its usually funny

  • you just have to click reply and the comments with thumbs down will appear for u to read

  • uff

  • I don't think the Manics made it in America in the 1990s because of their socialistic themed lyrics, in a time of prosperity and wanton consumerism.

Americans couldn't identify with their message, nor were American music fans willing to embrace a band on the intellectual and social landscape that this band was on.

I'm an American, and love their music, and while I've never been poor, I empathize with their message. I'm a socialist, and long for the day Americans reclaim their country.

  • I agree on so many levels... MSP may be too complicated/intellectual for the average American; sure- you can find pockets of fans here and there... but without the "mainstream" push, and with ideas /concepts that they (MSP) define; their message moves beyond the horizon for most. Perhaps - that's good, America is not the social/political consciousness of the world... Initially- I fell in love with the rage and fury of MSP (the early years). But their concepts/ideas have no time line.

  • "MSP may be too complicated/intellectual for the average American"

    What a load of bullocks.

  • no THEY ARE TO clever for the YANKS!!!

  • You can only truly appreciate this song if you have lived a similar hard life to the manic street preachers. The same applies to oasis and all the northern songs of the 90's. I lived in the area and during those times and could truly relate to the songs. And whenever I hear I instantly remember those times.

  • Americans are too concerned with fucking hip hop and r+b thats why.

  • They never "made it in America" because thay had such a deluge of trite-yet-visually-appealing pap to contend with. Not much different then, innit?

Why good bands never get recognised....nothing to do with America, that! T'is the vast amjority of wankers that don't know real music from their own wrankled orfices.

  • I'm in Canada and I know a ton of fellow fans here. But I agree with what you're saying. It's a shame because unless I fly overseas I'll probably never be able to see them live!

  • was this song about elvis presley?

  • And all the drugs in the world, can't save us from ourselves... I remember this song from about 6-7 years ago, it still has that special feeling.

  • where are the band coming from?

  • Blackwood, Wales

  • Why do so many people say that this song sounds like Depeche Mode? I don't get it. DM wish they sounded this good.

  • I like this song because Nina Persson isn`t singing in this! Oh grace god! kvak kvak

  • honestly though they're a top band, who I`m surprised never made it in America

  • me three!

  • I love this song to and do you know what? I've never ever seen the video until now!

  • love this song

  • me too.

  • me too.

  • genius

  • terrific song

  • Aquest és l´únic vídeo dels Manic que aconsegueix atreure´m sense avorrir-me. Una meravellosa imatge de la societat d´avui dia.

  • It's ridiculous, that a serious, constructive comment can get 6 "downs" that easily. I haven't changed my mind on this song: nice average song for the radios, but there are at least 80 better songs by the band.

  • i do not agree, i think its one of their most haunting songs, better than everlasting and their big hits, very powerful

  • *asking

  • what album is this song on? i know its on their forever delayed greatest hits album but just aksing lol

  • just greatsed hits

  • Quality song

  • and a nice butt,supposedly!

  • pause...

  • I normally don't buy this band in the crowd 'commentating' or 'observing' but as ever The Manics come over as MEANING this song.. the way the people pass them by is amazing, and you'll see people looking netural or lost or resigned in any big city..and what a moving song it is, a very under-rated classic in my opinion, get it back in the live set lads!

  • Why promo? I have it on videotape. it was on TV a few years back

  • I love this song! LOVE IT

    love them!!!!

  • do u think james has one of the best voices ever - cos i do!

  • yh i do he's awesome

  • Oh yeah, James and Sean thought to themselves "let's do one that sounds like Depeche Mode, that will do, we'll sell millions". Why the hell would they do that ukp*ki3 ?

  • They are quite clearly trying sound like depeche mode. Great song all the same

  • hahaha as much as I love the manics I love depeche too ... and I found this very funny xD

  • it's a quality song :D

  • My fave Manics tune, great stuff.

  • I think its a awesome song

  • This probably is the worst single the Manics have released in their whole career, only concurrence is Your Love Alone. They were a great band, but here they lack everything, that made them special.

  • its an awesome song lol

  • I miss Richie... *Hugs to all the Manic fans* x

  • why thanks you, *hug returned* xx

  • *hugs back* god save the manics!

  • Im getting in on the manic fans hugs cos I love em too! *hugs*

  • Manics ftw.

  • lol i was just about to give u a minus 1 cuz i thought u said "Manics wtf" hee hee ill give u a plus for that x

  • What a great song i always come back to this whenever i want to listen to the manics i love the sound of the music all the way through this song great video too thankyou for posting this on you tube.

  • Sounds like u2 :S are u on crack??

There isn't another band as original as the manics, think about wat u say before u spout ur " I no shitloads about music bollocks " or try just 2 enjoy an awesome song with a meaning beyond me and u !

  • sweet

  • I love this song and voice of James, It´s perfect!!!!!!!

  • I think the means of the song is don't be such an egoistic bastard and help others.

  • james dean's singing is so beautifully passionate! there is a greatness about this band that is quite unique. their grace has a universal appeal which is reflected on this humane and touching video. love you, manics!!!

  • I think the video brings the message of the song home. Great vid, great song!

  • I like the video... There is more message in it as it looks like..
