Yeah and the taxi guys were ripping the public off for fucking years and they enforced a restriction on the number of new licences issued to the extent taht you had to pay 90 grand to get a licence, they creamed it for years FUCK OFF taxi men.
EUROPOL REPORT: IMMIGRATION A MAJOR THREAT TO EUROPEANS
A European Police Office report has revealed that at least 900,000 illegal immigrants from 3rd World enter the EU every year & 350,000 legal visitors overstay their visas -and that Europe faces major criminal threats from this invasion force.
This massive influx has seen “European citizens and businesses exposed to systematic violence and corruption at the hands of organised crime groups, terrorist groups, and, street gangs"

taxi drivers are muppits they think they run the country,they try and rob customer for as much as they can get away with including tourist no sympathy from me.
I'm sorry but I don't feel sorry for these guys. The taxi plate became a commodity with huge value associated with it simply because the city only issued a small number of licences each year. There was always a chronic shortage of taxis in Dublin especially at night. This is all part of Ireland belatedly growing up.
but they only issued a small number of licences because of a corrupt vote harvesting pact organized by Ivor Callely on behalf of his boss Bartholomew Ahern!
@GuyAwoke Couldn't agree more. Check into how many TD's has an economic interest in keeping the number of plates down, and filling their pockets. The idea of a few hundred people controlling all the license plates in Dublin and beyond is ludicrious. Open it up, and the number of viable plates will settle where it settles, as the market determines. If you find that you can't make a living working as a taxi driver, do something else.
God remember the 90's and early 00's when you had to wait hours for a taxi, and then the guy might decide not to pick you up because he didnt want to go out that way.
Ah, the days when they all drove expensive sMercs and had the same qualifications needed to cut chips but not to fry them as having a hot chip on both shoulders was aginst wealth and slavithe.
All the taxi drivers want to go back to the days when they were in a cash business so they paid very little tax by only declaring a fraction of their income.
Why do taxi drivers feel agrieved? At the end of the day anyone could run a taxi. It doesn't require any skill so wages of course are going to be low.
thats not the point...its not as easy as it sounds it takes full time concentration and you have to know all the areas you work.. the point this video makes is that there are to many taxi drivers and the people who make it there full time job where this is there income to support there family's and pay the bills isn't enough any more because of bad government policy.

Your are having a laugh, before deregulation it was impossible to get a taxi at night. Don't have a problem now do we !!!!!!!. Things can't be to bad if you can afford to go to the Canaries on your holidays either.

thats not the point...its not as easy as it sounds it takes full time concentration and you have to know all the areas you work.. the point this video makes is that there are to many taxi drivers and the people who make it there full time job where this is there income to support there family's and pay the bills isn't enough any more because of bad government policy.

Your are having a laugh, before deregulation it was impossible to get a taxi at night. Don't have a problem now do we !!!!!!!. Things can't be to bad if you can afford to go to the Canaries on your holidays either.
