The first track is called Rollidge I think by dj SS was made in 95 all the tracks are from 95 era in this mix, they would use some 93-94 stuff like 'Valley of shadow' by Unknown but that is about it.

Not a harder version of drum and bass - this just is what drum and bass was called before it was called drum and bass. The term is mostly now used to refer to drum and bass tunes released between 1992 - 1996 (especially those with ragga vocals) ie. "old skool jungle". Is also used to describe drum and bass in general. was made in london uk in the early 90's

I always used to think of jungle being its own distinct genre from d&b, but since becoming older, i now just see it as the transition between Hardcore to drum and bass, but that isn't intended to lessen the importance of jungle-no i think Jungle probably was and still is the most alien sounding music(to the vast majority of people) there is-

It still sounds far more original the dubstep, even if it is less technologically advanced.

What was funny about the old school Dj's, is that they couldn't mix for shit lol !

Its well known that alot of them struggled to beat match with Jungle, often sloppy mixes.

They we're just part of the scene, not really for their merits as a Dj.

But Grooverider had all the plates, and was a top selector.

Andy-C could beat match very well but his mixes we're often long and boring.

My opinion, Mampi Swift produced some of the best mixes i've ever heard. Way ahead of his time.

This is a well known thing, at least by us here in East London.

To get into the scene back then, you had to be part of the 'family' somehow. It was not about talent.
