Worst. Idea. EVER. If I had been in NYC, I probably would have screamed, ran through the streets and evacuated high buildings too- which is what happened because no one knew this was going to take place.

At least now we have comparable video footage of a plane about 80-100 feet above their heads, with the paint, logos, and windows clearly visible as it flies through the city.

Horrible idea, Sir. Horrible. Especially if you want a silent nation. -.-

If the plane is overhead you cant tell the paint job on it. The fact the plane is very close to the city after all planes got banned from flying near the city set off the panic in people.

What a very stupid thing to do. However how do the people on the ground even think this was another attack. Theres a frickin fighter jet following it you geniuses , clearly not trying to shoot the plane down or disrupt it. Can somebody tell me how you make that judgement even when you see a fighter jet flying with an AIR FORCE 1 plane.

ardodaman, let me break it down for you. People NYC are still affected by 9/11. Planes are NOT allowed to fly that close to the city. And when people see a fighter jet "chasing" it, yes, they're going to panic. Nobody was aware that this little stunt was going to take place.

@irishmobkitten Well people all over the country are scared for no reason. Where do you get that planes are 'not allowed to fly that close to the city'? Planes fly over Manhatten all the time. Planes can fly over the Hudson from 500' to 1300' if they are 2000' laterally from any structure. Under ATC control they can fly anywhere in the area from 1300' up. Plus, a fighter will never shoot down a plane over a busy area like NYC. Not even if it were highjacked.

Flying that close to the ground, absolutely I can, because theres only two planes in the world that are allowed to have designs that that say United States of America on the Side and have a large highly visible presidential seal on the door. But I dont blame a lot of people, I could understand the instant panic when you don't loook long enough.
