  • I'm a fetus and I like this.

  • Probably the greatest epic song written

  • This video cuts off at just the right time. The rest of the song is twee Jon Anderson crap.

  • I am only 7 years old.... tought Justin Beiber was good but this... thank you grand pa!

  • @reverseification you should give your grandfather a nice, big hug for introducing you to excellent music.

  • @reverseification Write pretty good for a 7 year old :)

  • @reverseification Your comment gives me hope for mankind ;)

  • Kinda wish Moraz had been allowed to stick around longer.

  • Hey, your channel is back up! :D

  • Thanks so much for posting. This has got to be the most incredible rock song ever written!

  • I listened to this while destroying mobs and creepers in the mob arena battle field on mine craft. Very fitting.

  • I'm still listening pretty much every day.

    Never gets old.

  • This music rocks.... melodies from heaven

  • id love to hear the bands that are in the RRHOF play this and a few other choice albums from yes

many of them dont have the chops to play this music let alone the ability to compose it

  • para mi esta musica es como si fuera de ahora , que vivan los yes

  • Greatest piece of music ever written!

  • @Solkan55 I saw them play it live at the Hollywood Bowl.

  • Of course! YES is way above any tripe those clowns could understand! Remember, Music awards are all about mediocrity, not actual knoledge.Yes makes you think and anything that makes you think is never considered by the music establishment. Yes is a spiritual learning tool and a truth functioner. I gave up on all modern music after YES because all of it is drival compared to classic YES and Jon Anderson-these days. Remember if it's about sex and stupidity,it will probably make the music awards....

  • There's theParthenon and Yesmen.

  • The melody starting at 12:50 is the most beautiful i've have ever heard. Yes is a fantastic band, and is in my top 3 along with Genesis and King Crimson. Relayer is my favorite Yes album, along with TFTO and Close to the Edge.

  • @erlendskarvang Hell yes!

  • Nice hidden faces in the album cover artwork! see them?

  • I just love this song more and more There is no escape.

  • Send the RRHOF to the Gates of Delirium!

  • OK,OK!We have a problem. We can't agree on our most ingrosing YES.They never gave up on their fans. They respected us .

  • 12:54

  • RIP Bob C

  • This song is among the greatest tunes ever recorded. Whether or not they are inducted into the rrhof means nothing. Anyone can hear the genius of this artistic endevor for themselves.

  • You must be kidding. The RRHOF doesn't have YES in it? Fuck those bunch of foot tappers.

  • @rodkiller11 As I read this, I was tapping my foot... :/

  • MMMMMMmmmmm GOOD SONG

  • One of the best Yes compositions, what a story in song this is!!! Also just visited Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and yes, there is no Yes...How is this possible????

This past summer I met Jon Anderson twice in Chicago and Milwaukee, and took pictures with him..OMG!!

  • RRHOF is a joke. You See this years inductees? Beastie Boys? Eric B.&Rakim?

    Seriously a joke..........

  • What? Rush and Yes are not in the Hall of Critics. They are in my Hall of Fame, and that's what counts to me.

  • 13:44 to 14:54

    I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!!!

  • AMEN!!!!

  • gotta love Squires Rickenbacker.......I own 2!!!!

  • @ballsofun Can you play one of them?

  • it really sounds like a whole orchestra is playing although it's only five people.

  • One of their better songs in a long career of better songs.

  • I wore out all of my Yes albums ! I would listen to these songs on headphones, cranked up and even replay them over and over ! I could not believe that much skill existed in one band.

  • well this u can call a good subscribe of a great song, thanx for publishing this song never may be forgotten

  • This song and "To Be Over" are the best overlooked Yes songs, and "song" songs for that matter, Yes Forever!

  • Gentle Giant is also crazy unique and complex! Try a listen to Knots or Advent of Panurge on youtube! Actually watch "Exceprts from Octopus" the one in Brussels Germany. Its also on youtube! let me know what you think.

  • One of the greatest bands ever.

  • I was fortunate to see them tour this in '75.

To me this was their final salute to great music. Thank you Yes for all the great memories.....

  • Best YES song ever

  • No here we have very dangerous themes.Yes was to Ghandi then .It's all about battle! these musicians were fresh off Topo just 7 months earlier.

  • We were very fortunate in 74 (Christmas time) but now we are amazed!!

  • Roger Dean is the GREATEST cover artist EVER!

  • It is a chore to compare Yes to other groups!

  • @TheTherese3 How about Jethro Tull? or Rush? :) and Yes is great by the way :)

  • Bought this on vinyl ages ago. I had never heard of it and saw it in some bargain rack for like $3. I played the hell out of it. Always loved The Gates. Haven't heard it in years.

  • Great song, and also great cover art :) Who was it that did that artwork?

  • @ubertrooper6300 Roger Dean

  • @VestonPance Then I praise Roger Dean for a job well done. :)

  • This track is amazing!!!!!!! It sounds like the year 2074 then 1974!!!

  • Wolfgang, Johann, and Ludwig Van would have loved these guys.

The Rock and Roll HOF has ABSOLUTELY NO credibility because this band is not in it.

    A Crime against music.

  • Here's one of the least funny jokes you'll ever hear (or in this case, read):

Joke: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

    Punchline: Yes isn't in it.

Double-Super Punchline: They've not even been considered, and probably never will be.

Here's my proposal: let's lock the people who select the nominees and the people who vote for the RRHOF in a room and play this song repeatedly until they get it. Can I get an AMEN?

  • @dmreeoogdaq Hell Yes, not in the Hall of Fame, Ridiculous, this album and this song are Platinum Metal. My very energy grew vast depths!

  • @dmreeoogdaq amen

  • @dmreeoogdaq DOUBLE AMEN!!!

  • @dmreeoogdaq If Yes would have disbanded after this album, they might have made it to the RRHF. Trevor Rabin, the corporate lacky sent to "save" Yes by writing Pop mass-marketable tunes, kinda took the band another direction. That messed up period saw them writing songs that are synonymous with an embarrassing era of music. Drama should have been the band name after Howe left. Asia was the rebound relationship. Huuuuge egos in Yes, Ivory Tower huuuuge.

  • @dmreeoogdaq the RRHOF doesn't mean anything. No, really, it doesn't.

  • @dmreeoogdaq

Right on man. It's literally disgusting that they haven't made it.

  • @dmreeoogdaq For sure. I live about an hour away from it and I went there in the summertime.

I am more shocked that Kiss isn't in it! I mean, I hate Kiss, but they're, c'mon, rock stereotypes.

Have a lot of good people and memorbilia in there, but at the same time, a lot left out. I'm surprised that they had PETER GABRIEL ERA Genesis in there.

If they were to put Yes in? Better be Jon Anderson era. All I'm gonna say.

  • @TheOneEyedHound Better be Steve Howe era ending with Going for the one. Greatest rock guitarist of all time.

  • @dmreeoogdaq Rush is not in too, right? -.-

  • @IMZA1793 Correct.

  • @dmreeoogdaq AMEN!!!, man :-)

  • I am very surprised to learn this fact. I just looked and do not see any of the members or the band listed at this time. being a Dead Head as it were even they are in the R&RHOF and from ABBA to ZAPA there are over 600 inductees without YES being on the list. I really have not paid much attention to this and at this time would ask that we all do the same. We as individuals know who we like and why. So I say let the music be our guide and keep it alive.

  • @dmreeoogdaq Amen

  • @dmreeoogdaq AMEN!!

  • My opinion is simple. I believe this is one of the greatest epic pieces since man started playing music. It is the standard for all prog music.

  • para mi yes representa el rock progresivo mas suave , en otro lado pink floyd seria como como yes pero una version mas bizarra y oscura

  • Requesting audiophile assistance!

I recently ordered this album from my local mediamarkt. And by mistake i ordered the 1994 atlantic remaster (i intended to buy the rhino remaster). And to make things worse, i threw the receipt in nearest trashcan. Which means i cant return it for money. I'm 16 years old and i dont have a good income

Rhino vs Atlantic remaster. Whats your opinion?

  • @randomstofil Hey, I'm sure the remaster you have is great. Don't worry too much. Enjoy the music! :D

  • @ShutlOrbit I've already turned it back in exchange for a gift voucher. Apparently they keep the receipt in a database :)

I'm awating the 03-issue right now.

  • i love this song. Yes just speaks to me so much

  • Wow 3 SONGS Only on the album?!?!?!?! That's how you know you're good.

  • @SolarFederale All I know is "vzqk50". You can search on Google and you find. I don´t know his name. His videos was fantastic. Unfortunately he was vanished from youtube. I think there´s a problem with author rights. Sorry for my english.

  • Simple..Massive like Amiens!

  • No No Yes found footing with Patrick, his days were numbered,Rick was in the mix.Steven must havebeen ticked.Of course Sir Squire worked with Moraz. He made him sound as good as Sir Richard. What am I saying, Moraz was filler.

  • I used to listen to side 1 of this album every day for months in 1975? Still does it for me. Thank you for posting it. You rock!!!

  • es increible como resuelve en 13:45

  • Que temazo la concha de la lora

  • "Power spent passion bespoils our soul receiver" Never mind the meaning behind the words. They just roll off the tongue and mind like honey.

  • i like metal so progressive metal /prog power metal is what i prefer but i agree this is as equally amazing never heard of this song before or this band for that matter amazing stuff. i like. *o*

  • @XxazidxX You should check out their song "Machine Messiah" then. On that note, if you've listened to Dream Theater's "Octavarium" they reference that song in part 3.

  • I'm in the delirium

  • after listening to yes for a while all other music seems bland.... after listening to yes after a while of listening to other music its awesomeness almost gives you a heartattack

  • Man, I haven't heard this song in years. Still sounds infuckingsane today...

This is what happens when you leave guys like Steve Howe and Chris Squire alone in a studio for hours. Crazy shit like this happens.

  • Absolute classic piece of music- The Gates Of Delirium, what a mind blowing journey of a track, easily my favourite of all time.

  • this is the best Rush song

  • @lucianodsb Qual a tua, mah!? kkkkkkkkk

  • @lucianodsb Are you crazy or something? This is YES.

  • @lucianodsb Are you crazy or something? This is YES.

  • @1961vampire bah u didn't get it... I'm just saying that them both look like a lot with other musically!

  • @lucianodsb This album was supposedly a big influence on Rush and some of their early epics.

  • 2 people maybe are in the gates of delirium :)

  • This just might be the best Yes album ever. Making it the best album ever made. Sorry Sgt. Pepper. No, i'm being mean there, but you know what i'm saying.

  • Greatest rock and roll musicians in history. No better collection of musicians in the history of rock music. No matter what kind of rock. Don't doubt me either. I know what I'm talking about.

  • that one dislike was probly a justin bieber fan lol , this is my fave yes lp

  • This band was sooooo before their time!!! I would loved to have seen them in the studio. They're stuff has as in depth as Beethoven.

  • I want whatever Yes was smoking on this LP.

  • @Jhensy2012 In the end, it's the music that's smokin'!

  • just noticed the 'easter island' cliff face in the back ground...hmmm

What a great song...never gona get this sweet sauce again...enjoy!

  • just noticed the 'easter island' cliff face in the back ground...hmmm

  • 1 person doesn't like this... monster! :omg:

  • si algo tengo que admirar de inglaterra son sus bandas

yes, pink floyd, queen, los rollings, etc...

  • Sometimes I wish Bill Bruford was playing...but then King Crimson '72 would be without/not the same. Then I actually listen to Mr. White's killer licks. Sorry Bill, this is actually perfect...well almost. Still, would love to hear Bill Bruford put on the headphones and just tear this one up!

  • I can not imagine life without being able to listen to YES...Fan for 40 years!!!!!!

  • I'm quitting my job to listen to YES all day!

  • I almost forgot how the slide guitar parts starting at 13:45 make the hair behind my neck stand on end. Gotta get this album again!!!

  • Excelente es poco... pensar que ahora cualquiera se distorsiona la voz, se pone una base de fondo y piensa que hace música...

  • im 14.. and i listen to yes all the time! i wish more people my age listened to yes here.

  • @musicisawesomeness dude same age, same feeling one of the most talented group of musicians i know.... now this woould be almost impossible in the music industry cause most of 2days "artists" are no more than a pretty face or stripper

  • Excellent song!

  • Squire/Howe. .........Best combo ever....BY FAR!!!!!!!! Listen to this timing brilliants.

  • YES ... Assinoê !!!

  • His videography was actually an insult to Yes. As if their recordings required visual enhancement to be as beastly as they were. LOL

  • @TheBPSEnsemble Although I really like all of their cover art, especially this album and tales of topographic oceans

  • @dd1781 His videos were really just a series of Roger Dean's lanscapes occasionally interspersed with mediocre, anonymous, fantasy-type imagery with various transitioning techniques such as magnification, fade-in/-out, etc. Just supposed to be incidental to the music and try to enhance it. I only really followed his videos because the Yes music he downloaded was the directly recorded studio versions. All his account was really worth to me.

  • @TheBPSEnsemble Hmmm....was that a compliment or a put-down?

  • Okay there was a guy on Youtube who had all sorts of homemade really fantastic videos to go along with all of these great Yes songs and he just all of the sudden vanished along with all his videos! Anyone know what happened or what his name was?

  • @SolarFederate His account was deleted by YouTube. It's a shame, his videos were incredible.

  • This song takes you into your own madness. . . it explores the interior of your mind and reveal the way you really are. . .

  • you either .. are *into* yes or no!!... but Relayer one of the best Yes albums in my humbl e opinion.. Gates of delerium ...classic.. can just l chill in my chair and switch off..escape to the battlefield.. like reading a good book!!!! ??

  • Understand that I am indeed a Yes fanatic (my preferences include The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close To The Edge), but please provide an explanation for the nearly universal popularity of Relayer, or even at least The Gates of Delirium. The favoritism that it's given seems to me to be more than just a little undue...

  • @TheBPSEnsemble Umm... people like it?

  • The whole battle blazes across the vinyl, but at 13:00 everything alignes!

  • Around the 9-10 minute mark your body goes numb!

  • @AwesomeCoasters yes, the war dialogue is the shits....it's what makes this my favorite yes song...only they could pull something of that magnitude off....

  • @AwesomeCoasters and by war dialogue, i mean the music....

  • @pvtvitoguido Well, life is a battle, isn't it? Not necessarily always humans with each other, either. I think this song is like a release. Proof that they understand the war within.

  • El mejor disco es Close to the Edge.

    Mi favorito es Relayer.

  • Maybe my favorite Yes album. This should be here. thanks.

  • What a fantastic song

  • The best of hard rock, metal, jazz, prog and symphonic all in one package. A true masterpiece.

  • Damn shame youtube only allows 15 minutes per video. All the best songs are at LEAST that long.

  • Definetively one of Yes's best albums. This song is a critic to war for business, and mankind speaking like one to such incarnated in John's, Steve's and Chris's vocals. The middle section is actually the war scene, followed by the victory of light! :) Enjoy!

  • @Elrumudhael Doh... you don't say.

  • One of the best Yes' albums ever! Cheers to all Yes fans! :D

  • Incredibly creative bass playing. Possibly second only to Janick Top in De Futura, but only maybe.

  • @RantovRizzia

Nice to see some recognition for Jannick. :) Love him solo and in Magma.

  • yeah, the time without rick wakeman.

  • gran album, el mejor de yes

  • @MEPG75 el mejor es close to the edge, para este punto el grupo ya estaba en decadencia.

  • @MEPG75 de hecho es uno bastante normalito, escuchate mejor Close to the Edge o Fragile, o Going for the One en su defecto.

  • Relayer one of the best albums!

  • This song is so brilliant.

  • isnt sound chaser on this lp?

  • @txeire ya, so is "to be over" also a great tune

  • @txeire sure is
