beautiful place hopefully it can be restored correctly it's quite beautiful and sadly if you look at the current generations it's unlikely anything that beautiful will be built again.
No it's "You call that a problem?" Since you don't seem to have idea on the english lang, Do spell and grammer check before you make yourself look stupid. From viewing you your page, I'm sure you will be eating a cat or dog on St Pat's day. Have a green beer anyway.
Wow, hmmm that is all you have? Well the lower monkeys and lesser never seem to worry about the things that matter in the world as you have just proven. Most dogs can bark but don't seem to make any sense, keep barking dog.
@bayyagg we have been put in the top ten list for most visited country and are number one happiest therefore its a contridiction to say no one comes here because everyday when i go out in the streeet the tour buses come round three at a time overcrowded with tourists therefore dont spread lies and you cant stick a roof on history just restore it to stop the rain affecting it like come on even the simpletons in the world know that :P :D
The real tragedy in Ireland was the damage done to the celtic/pictish monuments of the ancients by St. Patrick. All in the name of religion of course.
wow i wanna travel there, i hope its not all starbucks and mickey d's by now.......itl be sad if we set off a reaction that wipes us all off, along with our buildings and monuments....but maybe these stone monuments will stand up to it
Why should the government take care of the people? Should not the people rebuild things for themselves? If it means so much to them why do the not put their own money together? Could it be the welfare mentality? I love those castles, but I would not want the government to run it. Then the government would own them and we would not have them for our own.
Does not the government exist to serve the people? And if pple would buy old castles, it is highly likely they would then use them only for themselves, or give high entrance prices and commercialise them.
Uh, the government is there to serve the people. I'm sure with the taxes they've paid, getting help from the government is really helping itself to assist with maintaining it's national heritage and identity.
All historical momuments should be preserved, no matter their location. This just shows one situation. The Irish government should do something and not just hope private donorsand NGOs step in. A bit ridiculous.
that's nature... why should we stop the nature. We have our memory.. ins't that enough? why should we keep all the old things... in some years we will have no more space for new things... just let the curcuit of nature roll...

Yes, I am a Muslim. And we do have more culture than 'suicide' bombing, 'terrorizing' (You forgot about the Irish Republican Army, I guess. They're classified as terrorists), and we don't hate other cultures. Who said I hate other cultures?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you dont see the irish republican army flying planes into buildings and worshiping a book that was written by a 40 year old who raped a 9 year old girl. its time to go back to the desert, sand monkey.

I see you've been on answering-Islam, hahaha. Why are you pissed, anyway, Seamus? I didn't do anything to you. And, no, I will not fist-fight with you. Even though if I were, your face looks like an orange-haired cod so I suppose it'd be an easy target. But, seeings to how you're Irish, you can take more than a few hits to that hollow head of yours.
I certainly know more about the world around me than you, Seamus. Afterall, I do have my peripheral vision still, since I'm not piss-drunk and full of potatoes.
NumaNuma187, you're a racist, you don't even know these people. For all you know they might not even drink alcohol. From reading the comments above, I know you're probably going to reply with one of your stereotypes because you're that narrow-minded, so I'm going to tell you now that I'm not going to waste any more time replying to you. By the way, I'm Irish and don't drink alcohol, and don't like potatoes.
@NumaNuma187 oh yay some one who hates the irish woooo not really do you know how many irish people you offended im irish and i hate beer and hate potatoes
Yeah, I figured your reply would be about as ridiculous as that. I was right :D Discover a hobby, something to keep you occupied and to stop you pissing people off on the internet, anonymously for a while.
Its not surprising that Irish culture here has slipped over centuries of colonisation. Looking forward to those 72 virgins? Islam - helping young worthless kids get laid since 600 AD, or so. Allahu Akbar indeed. Maybe you should speed up the process? Go find a large dose of ratpoison, prick.
@ramu50 - If you think that 3D renderings can do better than seeing monuments up close, then you are a fool. Why ever see a live performance when you can listen to a recording? Or see a painting when you could look at a photograph? Clearly these things mean something, otherwise millions of people would not go see them.
It's a real pity that the government is unwilling to give more money. Perhaps they should consider how much these buildings attract tourists and bring in money.
<---I grew up in the US. I have visited Ireland more than once and traveled throughout a lot of the EU nations as well as lived in Austria. I can tell you that if the US had the kind of history that Europe has that I would be one to vote that the government made it a requirement upon themselves to maintain the buildings.
@ramu50 Well in Ireland (and in Northern Ireland), we're not a big country, we don't have a lot else to bring in money and increase our economy like food or the latest technology. We use our best features, we're a world heritage site and it's something to be proud of. Think of how many people go to Rome and Egypt and Venice to see the ancient monuments and architecture.
this is good but still.. i'm subscribed and from canada.. and i cant watch the coolest looking videos because of where i live... NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC! can you make all vids avail to canada?
