O well its not the whole episode what really happens is the hokages jutsu was supposed to kill him... unfortunately it didn't because he wasnt strong enough so he only disabled orochimarus arms

he was strong enough, the bad thing was that orochimaru hurt him whit the swrod hes using on the vid, sarutobi taked his sword but orochimaru pulled it whit his chakra directly to sarutobi and he was hurt.

while sarutobi was taking his soul orochimaru was triying to kill him whit the sword and the more the sword got deeper the weaker sarutobi was, and at least sarutobi could only take his jutsus whit him disabeling his arms. :P hope it helps abit

Just to make clear something these guys didnt explain was that last jutsu Sarutobi used was the same jutsu that the 4th hokage used on the 9 tailed fox. Meaning that he sacrificed himself to coceal in somebody his son & that someone is well its obvious. Sarutobi decided to study that jutsu that the 4th did to protect the village as last resort. Sarutobi only had the streangth to take Ochimaru's arms
