I first saw this before "Avatar". When the little dog put on his glasses and the whole thing changed to 3D, I actually cried.

You see, when I was a child, I was told that I'd never be able to "see" 3D movies because of my various eye problems. And the old way of doing 3D, with the one red lens and one green lens, *doesn't* work for me.

But this did. I couldn't believe it! I know it's corny that I cried, but I really did. :D

you do know that all 3d glasses are is polarised plastic and your computer screen is polarised so it wont work with the glasses

This doesn't work at home on a television or monitor because the monitor is not projecting two different images and even if it were, it can't polarize the light from each image so that it's filtered by the lenses

try this if you can go cross eyed place your finger between your eyes and stare at it and keep on going ot the screen and your finger you will see the ball in 3d if you can go cross eyed do it and stare at an invisible line between the compter and your eyes you will see the thing in 3D

@matayasula Real D is just not going to work on your monitor or your TV.

Real-D uses a special digital projector that shows left eye and right eye images alternately at double the normal frame rate and uses circular polarization in opposite directions for each eye. If you watch a Real-D trailer on a PC monitor, even with the glasses on, all you'll see is blurry double images.

You can use your Real-D 3D and play games on your computer in 3d, just buy a computer screen with 120 hz refresh rate and a NVidia graphics card. =)

@FatalMind5 RealD 3D glasses rely on left and right polarized lenses. The image on the big screen is actually two images cycling at 120hz. At the same time, two polarizing filters are cycling to correspond with its image. The polarized lenses on the glasses only let in that light. Each eye gets a different image which our brains put together to form a sense of depth.

@FatalMind5 LCD monitors are not able to change the polarization in their back lights. Q.E.D. those theatre glasses won't work. The RealD 3D glasses could work on a home DLP projector that is able to switch polarization. Know what your talking about before posting.

There is a filter they use on the projector that switches between the left and right eye 144 times per second and each frame has to be displayed 3 times each to reduce the effect of flicker. Unlike conventional anaglyph 3D images which appear as a SINGLE image, REALD shows the left and right eye images one at a time. One frame of 3D film that you see on screen consists of "LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT" hence you need high refresh rates.
