54 years old and seen millions of screws working for north texas nut, bolt & screw & arlington fasteners but this is the first time I ever saw a 14" screw. Didn't even know they made one that long.
@ron1martens I'm talking about an 18v cordless hammedrill. I abuse the crap out of it in our pacific NW rainforest out here, but it's still with me after...I don't know, not less than 8 years. for the price of the festool I could buy 3 more... Interesting tho, our old Milwaukee paddle drill has the same chuck issue... its never tight enough to stay put. And, sure an 16"dx3/4" auger hole is a job for a hole hawg, but my cordless dewey did it...just sayin.
Thats very impressive. The 12 volt in the festool range must be similar to 14.4 volts for competitors. I have panasonic cordless tools which are possibly a little down to the festool range. Imagine the 15.6 volt festool and the 18 volt. Festool said it didn't need to have an 18 volt as their 15 volt was ample. But maybe due to public demand they built an 18 volt. A pity you bought before the new t loc system.
Festool t 12 +3 is a brilliant drill use it for smaller stuff and fine work. I also have a hilti t22 for site work and a milwaukee impact driver for driving hundreds of screws. The festool is a powerful drill but i'd use my 22 volt for driving screws like that and auger bits. Festool is the best for fitting skirting and kitchens and fine furniture. Its the bugatti of fine woodworking.
Festool is expensive but if you actually use them you understand why. I could probably fashion my own hand brace with a touch of welding and some bent steel and drive screws with that for under 15 bucks but why would I bother when there are better options available? these are well built efficient machines the brushless motors are nearly invincible. You go ahead and ride your unicycle to work, I'll be taking the porsche thank you very much.
wow, reading through these comments is really messed up... this guy is obviously proud of his drill, if he can afford and is happy with his purchase it let it be. we all have our own preferences. some like festool, some like other brands... like petrorr said, in the end its just a TOOL we use to get the job done
I learn how to drive 3 weeks ago my aunt said to my uncle i drove like it was nothing and i am 13 years old. I did this in mexico not in usa. mexico is awesome do what ever you want and wont get busted by the cops
pretty wanky, dude. I ran a 7/8 ship auger thru 16" of soft (like yours) wood with my 6 yr old, 40 hrs a week De Walt, and I didn't go with the grain. I also did this clinging to a ladder pushing the drill with my shoulder, not with clamps in some shop that looks like a showroom. I then used same drill to mix mortar w/ 8" paddle. After it complained about that I replaced the gearbox for $50. Still about $150 ahead of you and more done. Looks like a nice drill though....
@ephem9 Yes I have a dewalt mixing drill 450 rpm. I have had it for maybe 20 years. After 15 years I replaced the bushes. The problem mixing mortar is the chuck needs a lot of tightening. That would probably suit you more for auger drilling. I have since bought a festool mixing 6 speed drill. The festool doesn't bog down like the dewalt But in saying that the dewalt is still going. Still the festool at a higher price is worth it.
iVE BEN INVOLVED ON HIGH END HOMES FOR kELSEY GRAMMER, MICHAEL DELL (DELL computers, 4 year project), DAVID ROBINSON, THE FOGELSONGS (original owners of NETFLIX), and other powerful people. neggerbish, your just going of cause in your mind your trying to justify why you spent sooo much money on a tool (and thats all it is, a tool) when for a fraction of the price you could have bought something just as good.
whatevers dip shit... im a custom home builder and i built homes for apple, google execs.... u dont know shiet son... u just hatin on ppl who can afford the tool... my festool has been through abuse and still runs like new u fucking noob... u cock knocking cunt
labore/apprentice dont count as WORKING on an execs house. im a jouneyman that got his start doing nothing but high end finish in these homes. im involved on a 32,000 square foot house in hawaii right now you country bumpkin corn fed backwood hick fuck. i could afford that tool easily, but why? my buddy has the festool chop saw and its a $1300 POS. a good carpenter can make any tool work only a NOOB would brag about how much mone he spent on a tool and make a video running a screw into end grain
Drilling into end grain is a hell of a lot easier than sinking that screw into the side of an 18 inch thick peice of material. of couse the drill wont burn out, the screw is more likely to shear before anything else....neggerbish , and madcat303, you both are looking like dumbasses on here.
Your a fag. Judging by your shitty attitude and filthy mouth, you aint a real woodworker. If you think you are, sorry, but track homes and speaker boxes dont count. i own the makita drill/driver set and i bet you I could get more production done than you could with your outlandishly overpriced drill. I dont have to worry about setting it down gently, and making sure it dont get scuffed up. I do high end finish work with materials like TEAK, AFRICAN MAHOGANY, KOA, IRONWOOD, SPANISH CEDAR, ETC...
bitch pls u smokin crack! dis shit goes through oak like its nothing dumbass. stop sucking your dad's cock bitch. dont hate cuz u cant afford it u fruitcake! WHAT NOW BIOTCH!
u dumb cock knocking bitch, u never used one so stfu... go jack off to your cartoons lil bitch. that is the best drill son. u cant even afford one so go fuck yourself! donkey fucker
Look niglet, I don't give a fuck what you or your porch monkey friends think. All I know is that I have a 14.4v drill, and you have a .4 inch dick. No one else fucks their dad bud.
that's right bitch, no one else fucks their dad but you. you said your dad has a 14.4 v dumbass. you aint got no tools fag. you play with makeup queer bag. heeh good one, i bet u'd like to play with my beef hung low son. i bet your mom would too... tell her to holla at me. now go watch american idol and play dress up u fag
haha make up brushes and eye lash curler dont count... go play with your lame ass rc cars u fruit basket... nuff said! HOW YOU LIKE PWNCAKES AND ROFFLES?
Thats no test. Thats treated softwood, My Makita 18v with 80Nm of torque would make light work of that. I aint paying no astronomical price for a brushless tool, especially not Festool. You can keep it.
how many Nm?
