i admit i watched the movie about coast guards with kevin and ashton guy ... i really liked it. i think it was good to see some , maybe a small fraction of what coast guard goes through..but i swear ... we're all asleep and they go out in dark deep waters so dark so deep so far from land...that is sooo scarry!!! even the ones near cliffs ... i see that copter get beat up by winds in san fran & the bay is brutal.

You dont have to have a degree to be an airdale. If you want to fly, then you will. You need to be an officer to fly. To be an officer you either need to go to the CG Academy or have a already have a degree and go to OCS. Good luck.

Well if you want to fly planes you would most likely get the C-130. Flying cargo missions, medivac operations, transportation, The Coast Guard does not have cessnas or falcons. They only have one jet i think which is just for flying executives places.But if you are 13 trust me you will change your mind at least 4 times about what you want to do in life.But hey, the best of luck to you. And yes it is worth joining. DON"T ENLIST go to officer candidate school after college and then flight school.

The CG has had Falcons for about 30 years now. Just look at the video I uploaded. We also have a Challenger and a GV for exec transport.

4 year then OCS then flight school, although if u want the BEST possible chance to fly then u enlist till u hit e-5, then go OCS with 30 college credits and will have a greater chance of being selected because they will "trust" you more then some college kid

I was a rescue swimmer on the Hamilton Whec 917 378ft. Cruised around the Pacific to Japan, Alaska, and Washington. 1991-1993. The best times of my life. Dont regret a second of it. Good training for a deck hand for the Deadliest Catch.
