nah it was ripped off from slim smith and the uniques- my conversation (hence the name conversation dub). bass and drum provided by sly and rob, it was a collaboration.

no man, dubversions are always reversions of original songs, but in another way. i believe this really is "conversation dub" because dub songs often have the word dub innit. the originalversion has got vocals innit i think.

@theoutlaw31 At first glance, you would think so. But King Tubby was the progenitor of Dub Reggae, and the two songs show differences if you really listen to them. Could be this is a remix of Acapulco Gold, or vice versa. To say it is stolen though, is laughable. Sly and Robbie came around after the King. I have this version credited as King Tubby's Conversation Dub on my Trojan Dub Box Set, disc 1. Trojan gets it right.

If you were more familiar w/music in Jamaica then you would know its common practice, even now, for many different artists to use the same song. And to say this isn't a different mix is ignorant, the song is clearly changed from the original.

Your statements show a lack of knowledge of dub music, and you should have done a lil research before posting.

Look up "Sleng teng", there are dozens of different versions of that song.
